If you had called Seann William Scott and Adam Brody a couple of d---s a few days ago, it would've been a mere matter of harsh opinion. Today, it is a matter of fact.
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that the "Role Models" actor and the former "The O.C." star have both signed on for Kevin Smith's latest project, "A Couple of Dicks." The film, which begins shooting on Monday, is a buddy cop action-comedy starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as two detectives trying to track down a valuable stolen baseball card. From the sound of it, Scott and Brody's roles are directly linked to the film's central plot.
According to THR, Scott will play the filthily named S--t Bandit -- yes, you know what "s--t" stands for -- a robber that leaves trademark "souvenirs" at the scenes of his crimes. And by "souvenirs," we're pretty sure that means poo. We've certainly come a long way since the days of the Wet Bandits. Based on what we know of the film so far, Scott's character is the likely culprit for having stolen the baseball card.
Brody will play a third detective to Willis's and Morgan's titular dicks. That's detectives. He's described as "an abrasive detective [who is] not happy to be working with Willis and Morgan," and is expected to play the straight man role to the leading actors' wackier personalities.
"A Couple of Dicks" marks the first time that Kevin Smith has directed a feature film that he did not also write. The screenplay is credited to Robb and Mark Cullen, a pair of writers with several television scripts under their belts for shows such as "Las Vegas" and "Heist." The Cullens will also executive produce "Dicks."
