I'm not terribly concerned about the mixed reception coming out of Cannes for Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds." At his worst, the director still puts out some of the most imaginative, well-written material available, especially if you happen to be a cinephile.
The first in this trio of "Inglourious" vids from this evening's episode of "Behind the Screen" is an exclusive clip in which Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) unsuccessfully questions a captured Nazi on troop positions. Once it's clear that the prisoner won't be talking, Raine turns to his heavy: an angry, baseball bat-wielding Jew named Donnie Donowitz (Eli Roth) who has a couple of bones to pick with the Third Reich. Keep watching after the clip for a pair of Roth interviews, one on the origin of Donnie's bat and the other on a problematic fire scene.
