It's been a while since our visit to the set of "Sherlock Holmes," and now thanks to the new trailer we have a slightly better idea as to what director Guy Ritchie has in store for us. In our first look at footage from the film, we're able to glimpse the unique relationship between Robert Downey Jr.'s titular character and his faithful sidekick Watson, played by Jude Law, as well as the always sexy Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong's villainous Lord Blackwood.

We also get a good sense of the tone of the action-adventure, which infuses Richie's sense of humor and trademark filmmaking with Arthur Conan Doyle's period mystery series. Take a look at the trailer below, and then click here to watch our interview with Downey and Law from the film's New York City set.

Hank Azaria, Ben Stiller and Amy Adams at the 'Night at the Museum' sequel premiereFROM MTV.COM: The nation's capital may have the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court, but yesterday the hottest ticket in town was the world premiere of "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian."

Held at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the red carpet was star-studded, with a guest list that included Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Hank Azaria and more.

A follow-up to 2006's wildly successful "Night at the Museum," "Battle of the Smithsonian" finds Ben Stiller's character — now a successful business owner — racing to the Washington landmark to assist his magical friends, who are locked in storage in the museum's vast underground vault at the mercy of an ancient Egyptian tyrant played by Azaria.

"Terminator Salvation" may not hit theaters until the end of the week, but MTV has you covered if you want to get your post-apocalypse on just a little bit early. You've probably seen portions of the five clips featured below in various trailers and TV spots, but here you get some unbroken, raw footage pulled straight from the film.

Starting us off is Anton Yelchin, shedding his thick Russian accent and barely pubescent charm from "Star Trek" to deliver Michael Biehn's iconic (and oft-repeated) Kyle Reese utterance from the first movie: "Come with me if you want to live." Yelchin of course plays a younger Reese in the film, long before a trip to the past inadvertently turns him into the father of humanity's savior.

Kristin Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor LautnerYa know, sometimes I think we should just put a giant “Twilight” spotlight on the roof of the MTV building here in beautiful Santa Monica, California. It could be like that enormous bat-signal that tells Batman when something is going on. Maybe we could put RPattz’s face on it and shine it up into the sky whenever there’s “Twilight” news to be reported.

But unfortunately, I don’t have a Spunk-Ransom-signal yet. So, we’re gonna kick this one old-school.

I’ve just gotten word that the first poster for “New Moon” will be released tomorrow. Not some Photoshopped version your friend made on her computer, not some old “Twilight” poster with the words “New Moon” taped over the title – but the real deal! Read More...

Lars von Trier, Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg promoting 'Antichrist'The film business can be a funny thing. We cater to a very specific set of readers here on MTV Movies Blog, but will sometimes look past the things you're interested in to bring you news which is particularly funny, perverse or, for one reason or another, flat-out absurd. Let it be known that the following falls roughly into all three of those categories.

Director Lars von Trier is probably most known here in the United States for Björk's "Dancer in the Dark" music video. He also had two fairly high-profile films, if incredibly odd ones, in what is planned to be a "U.S. trilogy": "Dogville" (2003) and "Manderlay" (2005). Von Trier is also known for his frequent associations with the Dogme community of filmmakers. Read More...

Bradley Cooper confirmed for 'A-Team'?You gotta love when actors unwittingly confirm rumors during press junkets. This time it’s Bradley Cooper, who may have accidentally revealed to the guys at IESB.net that he is indeed set to play the handsome con artist “Faceman” in 20th Century Fox’s film adaptation of “The A-Team.” When asked, rather insidiously, if the actor was excited for the role, Cooper responded, “That’s out already?”

Of course, the casting news is not officially out, but Cooper must have been thrown off by the fact that most journalists at the junket for “The Hangover” were trying to get him to admit to signing on to star in “The Green Lantern.” Or, after so many denials, he just wanted to be able to excitedly substantiate something. He even continued talking about the film, enthusiastically stating that Joe Carnahan is going to “make a great movie out of it.” Read More...

Jim Carrey in 'Disney's A Christmas Carol'Have you ever heard of the "uncanny valley." It's a pop science theory which holds that, as robots and digitally created beings are rendered in increasingly realistic ways, we humans become increasingly repulsed by their appearance. The hit TV series "30 Rock" actually offers one of the most layman-friendly explanations available, after Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) asks Frank (Judah Friedlander) to explain the concept "in 'Star Wars'":

Frank: "All right." [holds up line graph] "We like R2-D2. And C-3P0."
Tracy: "They're nice."
Frank: "And up here we have a real person." [points to end of graph] "Like Han Solo."
Tracy: "He acts like he doesn't care, but he does."
Frank: "But down here we have a CGI Stormtrooper, or Tom Hanks in 'The Polar Express'." [indicates lowest point on chart]
Tracy: "I'm scared! Get me outta there!" Read More...

Fourth 'Mad Max' movie might be comingThis morning brings with it word from - where else? - an Austrailian newspaper (via AICN) that director George Miller is preparing to start work on a fourth "Road Warrior"/"Mad Max" movie. The story in Australia's Herald Sun reveals that location scouting is already underway, and that shooting could start as early as later this year.

Miller has already dismissed the possibility of Mel Gibson reprising his role in previous interviews, though between Leonard Nimoy in "Star Trek" and Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator Salvation," cameos are very quickly becoming the hot way to expose your celebrity status without too much of a time commitment. Gibson, who has had his share of public relations troubles in the recent past, could probably use a boost from a fan community which fondly remembers a time before the actor got all serious.
