Linkin Park's Mike ShinodaContributed by Christopher Campbell

Fans of Linkin Park received some great news last Friday when it was announced the rock band would be collaborating with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer on the film score to “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” Word came directly from co-frontman Mike Shinoda, via his blog, who revealed that the new song he had been writing about on his site for the past month was actually for the soundtrack for Michael Bay’s blockbuster sequel. And then he shared further information about how that tune will be used in the movie:

“In addition--and probably ever cooler--we have been offered the unique opportunity to help score the film. The song we wrote is being used as one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the (very large) team scoring the film.” Read more...

Graduating from college nowadays is a scarier thought than usual given the current state of the economy and its depleted job market. But that's exactly what "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" star Alexis Bledel is doing in her new mature comedy, "Post Grad."

In the film, Bledel is forced to move back with her parents (featuring Michael Keaton as her dad!) while hitting the interview circuit looking for work. Along the way, of course, romance beckons. "Post Grad" will hit theaters August 14.

'Videodrome'Another day, another remake. Today, the honor goes to David Cronenberg as his gory and terrifying film "Videodrome" is being eyed for a remake. According to Variety, Ehren Kruger ("The Ring") is set to write and co-produce a new "Videodrome" for Universal Studios.

The original 1983 film is a cult classic, and starred James Woods as a sleazy television president who is always on the lookout for shocking programming to boost the ratings of his Toronto station. Through some creepy and sinister maneuvering, he begins broadcasting "Videodrome," a program of mindless murder and torture. Of course, even that isn't as it seems, and Cronenberg spins a rather gory tale of bodily horror, self-mutilation, and mind control. Read more...

Natalie PortmanNever pigeonhole an actor. They’re out there writing, producing and directing, creating clothing lines, volunteering on political campaigns and charitable organizations. Yet it’s rare that actors—especially established ones—reverse roles with the pesky journalists who are always sticking microphones in their faces, trying to dig for the next big scoop.

Enter Natalie Portman to do just that. Along with her friend and business partner Christine Aylward, the “Star Wars” actress has launched MakingOf.com, a website that seeks to give people an inside look at the process of making movies through interviews with the insiders themselves: actors, directors, cinematographers, editors, makeup artists and more.
