Ellen PageThough its plotline is still a tightly kept secret, Christopher Nolan's next film, "Inception," is coming together. Last month, we reported that Leonardo DiCaprio had come aboard to play the lead, and that Ellen Page was rumored to be the next to sign. The rumors were true and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Page is coming aboard, along with Cillian Murphy and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard. (Clearly, he had to have one familiar face among all the newcomers, even if it was the Scarecrow's!) Read more...

Larry Carroll and ShoWestThe cabbie who drove me to the hotel kept making fun of Ashton Kutcher. My room at Planet Hollywood is themed around Dolph Lundgren’s 1987 clunker “Masters of the Universe.” This afternoon, I browsed concession booths pitching Dipping Dots, White Castle Jalapeno Cheeseburgers, and more variations on nachos and popcorn than I thought humanly possible.

I might be in Nevada, but it sure feels like I’m still in LA.

Welcome to ShoWest, the annual convention in Las Vegas where theater owners, studios and journalists come to meet up and talk about all the big films of the next few months. I’ve already taken some pictures of all the various posters, from the best (“Terminator Salvation” has a really badass standee) to the worst (Nia Vardalos in a quasi-sequel to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” a half-decade too late?) to the uneventful (the “New Moon” poster is so plain that I found it over in a corner of the hallway, leaning against the wall virtually unnoticed). I learned a great many things in my conversation with "12 Rounds" star John Cena at Cold Stone Creamery last week. I learned Cena is raring to get in the ring with Dwayne Johnson. I learned he'd happily play a superhero if the public would have him. I also learned that he freestyle raps far better than I. That last one is not much of a surprise I suppose to anyone who has ever met me.

Perhaps most enlightening though was the moment when Cena revealed who he'd like to tangle with more than any other. Forget professional wrestlers and action stars...Cena wants a piece of...Bill O'Reilly?!?

'Twilight'As legions of “Twilight” fans no doubt already know, the vampire Edward Cullen leaves behind his town—and his true love, Bella—at the beginning of “New Moon.” That’s some heavy stuff, so it’s no surprise that the actress who plays Bella views the second book as considerably more harsh than the first one.

“It’s a struggle,” Kristen Stewart told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s almost lower-key, almost depressing. It’s more tragic this time around. It’s not as sunshine and roses.” Read more...

Adam DuritzJust before making his day's first appearance on-set, "Counting Crows" lead singer Adam Duritz stopped to chat with MTV News in his trailer during the filming of his upcoming "Freeloaders."

Coming off a very late night of shooting the day before, Adam was nonetheless very energetic when it came to talking about his move from music to film and ended up chatting for nearly an hour about the project and how important it is to him.

Produced by Broken Lizard and Adam himself, the film focuses on a group of friends who have lived so long crashing on a rock star's floor (Duritz, guest-starring as himself) that they have no idea what to do when the star announces that he's moving and selling his Hollywood mansion. Read more...

Dakota FanningContributed by Jeff Sneider

Dear Dakota Fanning,

You’ve been acting since you were 6 years old, popping up on popular (and bloody!) TV shows such as “ER” and “CSI.”

Since then, you’ve proven yourself to be an exceptionally talented young actress in films like “I Am Sam” and “The Secret Life of Bees.”

But one thing that stands out about your impressive filmography is that you’ve never done a proper horror movie, although you have certainly flirted with the genre. Read more...

'Tripods'Alex Proyas has a host of options in front him following last month’s release of his new Nicholas Cage film "Knowing." In addition to tinkering with Dracula’s origin story in "Dracula: Year 0," the "I, Robot" and "Dark City" director has his eye on John Christopher's classic sci-fi trilogy "The Tripods."

"I actually read it at the age that the characters in the story were, which is about twelve," Proyas told MTV News. "It really struck a nerve with me."

The series of novels, which began with 1968's "The Pool of Fire" and went on to be produced as a TV series in the 1980s by the BBC, follows a human resistance movement under the tyranny of an alien conquest. With three core books and a prequel volume to pull stories from, there is potential for a film franchise to emerge. Read more...

James MarstersIn one corner, the bleached blonde "Buffy" vampire punk. In the other, the mysterious Edward Cullen of "Twilight" fame. So what happens when vampires clash and only one can be left standing? For that, we turned to James Marsters -- who played Spike for seven years on both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" and who stars as Lord Piccolo in April 10th's "Dragonball: Evolution."

"I'm not aware of a split," said Marsters diplomatically, explaining that there's definitely crossover between "Buffy" and "Twilight" fans including he himself who has read the "Twilight" books with his family.

"My niece started 'Twilight' and she was convinced that Edward was based on Spike," Marsters laughed, "I thought that was fabulous. I'm her guardian and that's just fine if she thinks that way." Read more...

'Daredevil'FROM SPLASH PAGE: Once upon a time, Ben Affleck was thrilled to play Daredevil, one of Marvel’s most complex superheroes. These days, the newly-rebirthed star of the political drama “State of Play” isn’t so eager to discuss his days spent in red latex.

“Uh, no,” he replied recently, shifting his energetic tempo to a methodical, disapproving downbeat when I mentioned the “D” word.
