Michel GondryFROM SPLASH PAGE: Ever since Seth Rogen told us about the top-secret fight scene that director Michel Gondry shot with his own money as an audition for “The Green Hornet” movie, I’ve been dying to know what visual tricks the distinctive filmmaker has up his sleeve. Now, Gondry is finally talking about the groundbreaking technique he’ll be bringing to the film.

“It was not elaborate,” Gondry modestly began the MTV News interview. “I’m glad [Rogen is even] paying any attention to what I’m suggesting.”

FROM BUZZWORTHY BLOG: What Better way to relieve the numbing sensation brought on by another boring meeting than to return to my desk to find a mysterious black envelope on my chair with a most unexpected Twilighty surprise inside! As an unofficial sugar expert and "Twilight" fan, you could imagine my excitement to find not one, not two, but all three boxes of "Twilight" Forbidden Fruits Conversation Hearts inside! My entire desk now smells like a fruity candy store, and I'm torn between opening box one, which features the entire "Twilight" cast, box two, which features scary, ghosty Robert Pattinson, or box three, which features pretty Kristen Stewart.

'Operation Dumbo Drop'By now, we’ve all seen the hilarious videos over at “Funny or Die” that have sometimes-good-but-often-bad-moviemaker Denis Leary looking back on the high and low points of his two decades in Hollywood. While breezing through the 47 movies on his resume, Leary came across the 1995 Disney bomb “Operation Dumbo Drop.”

“I tell most people it wasn’t me, it was Willem Dafoe,” Leary insisted. “Dafoe denies this, but it’s not me – it’s Willem Dafoe. I never saw it. Why would I see it? I’m not in it. I mean, I like Dafoe, but I’m not gonna see every movie Dafoe makes.”

Well, we here at MTV News are all about getting to the bottom of the story. So, when we recently interviewed Ray Liotta for his new Seth Rogen flick “Observe and Report,” we had to ask the veteran actor: Was it Dafoe or Leary that he remembers being on set with him for that “Dumbo” dud? 'Twilight'As you may have noticed, a recent wave roared across the Internet when countless news outlets began picking up on “Twilight Sucks,” a website that has begun cataloguing tales of violence between fans of “Twilight” and those who aren’t as enamored with the words of Stephenie Meyer.

Luckily, we kind of pride ourselves around here on bringing you news, rather than just being the umpteenth-million website to echo it. And since the majority of the tales told on “Twilight Sucks” seem phony, and are virtually impossible to corroborate, we’re not going to bother repeating them. If you want to read tales of ninja-star-attacks, feel free to look elsewhere.

Instead, I was hoping to appeal to the very-real fanbase we’ve come to know and love over the past year-and-a-half of covering “Twilight” so intensely here at MTV, as well as those who’ve posted comments voicing their distaste for the series (as they have every right to do). Read More...

Robert Downey Jr.First published in 1985, “Less Than Zero” defined a generation. It also helped launch the impressive careers of Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, and “American Psycho” author Bret Easton Ellis. Now, Ellis is hoping to reunite the others for a follow-up movie about what happened after the party ended.

“What I’m working on now is a sequel to ‘Less Than Zero’,” the novelist explained to us recently. “It’s coming out next year, in May of 2010.”

And just like last time, Ellis (whose latest novel-turned-film “The Informers” opens in limited release April 24th) thinks the book would make a great movie. Read More...

Channing TatumFROM SPLASH PAGE: Though his name is out of the running for Marvel’s “Thor” adaptation, Channing Tatum wouldn’t mind taking a shot at becoming Steve Rogers -- provided Will Smith doesn’t want the role.

After last year’s “Stop Loss”, three of Tatum’s next major roles feature him in various iterations of the US Military, including “Dear John”, “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” and “Pinkville”. Could Tatum’s public perception as the homegrown American soldier extend to the Marvel Universe in Joe Johnston’s “The First Avenger: Captain America”?

“I would love to talk about it,” Tatum told MTV News, admitting that a few people have told him to go after the role, though nothing solid has happened on that front.

GhostbustersSigourney Weaver may still be on the fence about committing to "Ghostbusters 3," despite Harold Ramis' confidence that "everybody" from the films' original cast "said they'd do it." Series star and writer Dan Aykroyd, meanwhile, appeared hopeful that Weaver would return, reiterating her hesitation to sign on, but he also let slip some possible spoilers for the new film, including the nature of the franchise's next wave of Proton Pack wearers.

"When we do the 'Ghostbusters 3' movie, hopefully, Sigourney will be in it," Aykroyd told a group of reporters at a round-table interview. "I know we'll make that happen. But there will be a whole new generation that has to be trained, and that whole new generation will be led by an individual who you'll all love when you meet him but I'm not going to tell you anything yet." Will ArnettContributed by Jeff Sneider

When MTV News caught up with Michael Cera in January, the actor labeled the long-gestating "Arrested Development" film as "more hypothetical than people think." His co-star Will Arnett apparently agrees.

“There’s no script as of right now, but it’s something that Mitch [Hurwitz] is actively working and getting ready for, and we’re hoping to start shooting by the end of the year," he told us. "I know that’s one of the goals. There are a lot of pieces that have to come together. There are what, like, nine cast members plus various other people like Mitch and Ron Howard, and everybody kind of has to get their brain around this one delicious soufflé.”

Arnett also laughed at the media’s obsession with the idea of a Bluth family reunion on the bigscreen. “God, I’ve never known a movie who’s every step of development has been as closely followed. This movie’s gonna be such a disaster,” joked the actor, who plays devious magician Gob. Read More...

William HurtContributed by Christopher Campbell

Ridley Scott just added another cast member to his untitled Robin Hood film, which has already begun shooting, and which had seemed to be fully employed as of the last casting news late last month. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-winning actor William Hurt joins as the historical figure William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke, a legendary knight and statesman most renowned for his reputation as the greatest jouster of his time.

Despite the character’s tournament-winning legacy, however, it’s doubtful Hurt will appear in chain mail, brandishing a lance in contest. By the time of the Robin Hood story, William Marshal was in his late 40s, had married into nobility and was serving King Richard as a member of the ruling class. Fans of jousting will have to instead settle with “A Knight’s Tale,” starring Heath Ledger in a role said to be based on Marshal. Read More...
