'Little FockersHere at MTV Movies, we’ve been following the status of Ben Stiller’s upcoming "Little Fockers” pretty closely. Maybe we just have an adolescent obsession with curse word puns. Perhaps we need to get out more. Or possibly the prospect of a third entry in the “Meet the Parents” franchise is simply the sort of news that gives us hope in a cinematic world teeming with derivative, insulting, laugh-free “comedies."

In any event, let’s make sure you're up-to-speed. In February, we heard that “Little Fockers” was moving forward at Universal after two years of development, albeit without the services of original director Jay Roach. Then rumors surfaced that three new directors—David Wain (“Role Models”), Paul Weitz (“American Pie”) and Peyton Reed (The Break-Up”) —were in the running to helm the film. Wain confirmed to MTV News that he was indeed in talks with the studio. Read more...

Robert Pattinson in GQ MagazineYou'd think by now we all would have figured out the secret to Robert Pattinson's sex appeal and overwhelming success with the ladies. It's that hair and that smug devil-may-care attitude. That is one very lethal combination.

But, if those reasons weren't enough, his "Twilight" co-star, Kellan Lutz (we should note that Ryan Seacrest thinks Kellan is the better looking Cullen…sacrilegious!), knows the secret to RPattz success. "His accent and his crazy hairdo get the girls swooning. I don’t have those locks," he told Ryan Seacrest on his morning show. Silly us, we forgot all about the accent! Read more...

'Explicit Ills'Danny Boyle’s youngest actors made headlines this year depicting their Mumbai home in “Slumdog Millionaire.” Back in the U.S., actor-turned-director Mark Webber pulled a similar card during casting for his new Philadelphia-set film “Explicit Ills,” which recently premiered in New York City.

“While I was really grateful to have experienced actors like Paul [Dano] and Rosario [Dawson] and Naomi Harris, I really spent a lot of time working with the children in the film to directing them and working the scenes, giving them pointers on acting in general,” Webber told MTV News. “It’s really intense.” Read more...

Mary J. BligeTyler Perry wastes no time counting his box office earnings, or contemplating deals. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he's already begun shooting "I Can Do Bad All By Myself", mere weeks after Perry and Lionsgate decided it would be his next film.

Obviously, Madea alone does not a film make, so Perry has brought Mary J. Blige on board to keep the already cast Taraji P. Henson company. (It takes Grammy wins and Oscar nominations to share the screen with Madea these days!) Blige will be playing a nightclub manager and singer, which means she'll probably land some of the musical numbers featured in Perry's original play. Read more...

James Cameron on set of 'Avatar'It’s kind of like “Titanic,” except with aliens, genetic-engineering and deep space war. Okay, maybe James Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, “Avatar,” is nothing like that gooey love story set on a doomed trans-Atlantic luxury liner. Except “Avatar” does have a love story, and it does force its lovers to choose sides between competing sets of communities, and likely it will include a lot of watery deaths. So maybe “Avatar” and “Titantic” aren’t so different after all.

Confused? Join the club. While anticipation has been building for years about Cameron’s mega-budget 3-D epic, almost no one at this point has seen any “Avatar” footage. A lucky writer at Time, however, was granted access to some scenes, and delivered some intriguing details about the production. Read more...

I now understand why David Letterman has been smitten with Julia Roberts for years. I'll be honest. I've never been the biggest Julia Roberts fan. Sure, she's got undeniable charm and presence and there's the hair and the smile...blah blah blah. For whatever reason I just never thought much of her as an actress. Her new flick opposite Clive Owen, "Duplicity," hasn't really changed my opinion of her. She does a solid job and the flick is pretty entertaining throughout. But to interview the once and forever "Pretty Woman," that is to know what it's like to face a star.

In my Rough Cut interview with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen I was feeling a bit brazen. And apparently so was Julia as she cleaned my glasses and rubbed my back. Then there's the below segment where I tried to interrogate her about how and why she's managed to keep her clothes on all these years while most of her famous bretheren have bared all at one point or another. There's not really an answer in the below but it's entertaining nonetheless.

The original Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu has officially given his blessing to “Harold and Kumar” star John Cho, who will take over the role for May’s revamped “Star Trek” from J.J. Abrams. George Takei, who has portrayed Sulu since the original TV series’ launch in 1996, has nothing but praise for the young actor.

“I’ve seen John,” Takei told MTV News in an exclusive interview . “He’s performed at the East West Players many, many times.” Read more...

Sarah SilvermanConsidering the past year has already seen news of a "Monopoly" movie and a franchise based on the once popular "Stretch Armstrong" toy, you can probably understand why I thought this indie drama would actually be about Just Born's Peeps candy.

It's not (and I don't know whether to be disappointed or relieved) but what it does have is a pretty cool comedic line-up. Sarah Silverman, Michael C. Hall ("Dexter"), Rainn Wilson ("The Office"), and Ben Schwartz ("I Hate Valentine's Day")are all attached to "Peep World," a indie comedy directed by Barry Blaustein ("The Ringer") and produced by Occupant Films. 'If I Stay'Any perceived bad blood between Summit Entertainment and Catherine Hardwicke is officially a thing of the past, because according to Variety, she has officially signed to direct "If I Stay" for the studio. Hardwicke's name has been attached to the film since February, but rumors have swirled that her relationship with Summit was too contentious to make the deal final.

But according to Summit's president Erik Feig, all those reports were unfounded: "When we were thinking of the perfect director to capture the emotion, grace and passion of this beautiful book, one filmmaker became the clear and only choice: Catherine Hardwicke," he said. Read more...
