He’s married to one of the most beautiful women in the world, and has established the type of successful Hollywood career that usually has actors excited to work with him. Yet, Ryan Reynolds’ new film “Adventureland” was a thrill to the 32-year-old star for a reason you might not expect: It brought him one step closer to Robert Pattinson.

“I love ‘Twilight’,” insisted the star, who shares some steamy moments in April 3rd’s “Adventureland” with Kristen Stewart. “Oh my God are you kidding me? Robert Pattinson in a word: dreamy.”

Emily BluntIt was on the set of a historical drama about the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan that Emily Blunt and Amy Adams struck up a friendship that would result in a dark-humored movie about two sisters who clean up after blood-soaked corpses for a living.

Welcome to the bizarre world of Hollywood, in which alliances are forged in the most peculiar of circumstances and give birth to projects that at first make you go, “Say what?” In the case of Blunt and Adams, their first encounter took place during the filming of “Charlie Wilson’s War”—Blunt played Tom Hanks’ lover, Adams his Congressional aide—and the outcome, several years later, is the oddball gem, “Sunshine Cleaning.”

“We have a weird inner dialogue that we sort of know what the other one’s thinking,” Blunt recently told MTV News. “It was like I’d known her forever. She still very much feels like my sister.” Read more...

'Let the Right One InContributed by Christopher Campbell

Isn’t it great to live in a time when home video exists, so we can all eventually see a critically acclaimed foreign film that hadn’t made it to our neighborhood multiplex? Well, home video may not always be an adequate substitute for the theatrical experience, and the new DVD and Blu-ray versions of the Swedish horror flick “Let the Right One In” is apparently a very good example of why. According to the website Icons of Fright, the English subtitles on the US home video releases are not only different from the theatrical print, they’re also simpler. Or, as the site argues, they’ve been “completely dumbed down.”

Icons of Fright writer RobG, who seems to be a worthy “Let the Right One In” expert, offers an ample amount of screengrabs from both the theatrical print (via an advance screener RobG received last year) and the new DVD from Magnolia Home Entertainment to illustrate some of the differences between Ingrid Eng’s original subtitles and the new “cheap” translation. “Sure, the basic gist of what the characters were saying was kind of there,” writes RobG, “but missing completely was the dark humor, subtleties and character nuances which made the movie so powerful and a favorite amongst audiences last year.” Read more...

Anne HathawayAnne Hathaway is a brave woman. Not only is she tackling the daunting task of portraying the legendary Judy Garland, she's doing it on two fronts. According to Variety, Hathaway has signed to portray Garland onstage and onscreen in an adaptation of Gerald Clark's biography "Get Happy" for The Weinstein Company. It's not clear which will go into production first, but they are toying with the idea of starting with a film, and using the same director for both projects.

The combination of Clark's book and Hathaway's involvement is already attracting directors, screenwriters, and songwriters eagerly lining up to help Hathaway (in the words of studio VP Ben Famiglietti) "put her own stamp" on Garland's story. Read more...

'Twilight'If you follow Stephenie Meyer's official website, you might have already heard this news, but we're bringing it to you anyway. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Weitz has cast the Wolf Pack for "New Moon", all of whom will make their big screen debut in the "Twilight" sequel.

Joining the humans of Forks, Washington (and fellow werewolf Taylor Lautner) in their fight against the vampires will be: Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman. All the actors are of Native American descent, with Sioux, Purepecha and Hualapai being the tribes represented among the new cast members. That's a good thing for fans of the series and the Native American community, and it's been one of the major perks of the "Twilight" name. The series is a big enough draw that Summit can focus on casting the characters appropriately rather than landing big star power. Read more...

Rob Zombie's 'Halloween'I've arrived in Covington, Georgia, and the population appears to be me plus the motel staff. I've flown in from New York City to visit the set of director Rob Zombie's sequel to his 2007 "Halloween." The film is apparently titled "H2: Halloween 2," which seems repetitive. I make a note to mention that to Rob when I see him tomorrow.

Rob's band White Zombie was a staple of my high school soundtrack so I'm excited to meet him. His episode of Jon Favreau's "Dinner For Five" -- with fellow guests Bruce Campbell, Roger Corman and Faizon Love (?) -- is spectacularly entertaining, and my favorite of the series. Drenched in tattoos, Rob's always looked like an intimidating figure but I've heard he's one of the nicest guys around. And while his "House of 1000 Corpses" and its sophomore follow-up "The Devil's Rejects" were a bit hardcore for my tastes, I've always respected that he's a man with a vision.

My call-time to the set is 1pm. I'm told I'll be observing the filming of a large scene involving 250 extras. Along with Rob, I'll also be speaking to castmembers...I silently hope Margot Kidder -- just added to the roster -- is one of them. It's nearly 8pm now so I'm off to hunt for nightlife. Either that or take a nap, whichever comes first. Stay tuned tomorrow when I report back from the set.

Emily BluntFROM SPLASH PAGE: Earlier this month, it seemed Emily Blunt was poised to make the leap from critically adored actress to household name. Word was she’d been cast as Black Widow in the sequel to last year’s $580 million blockbuster comic book adaptation “Iron Man.” After her scene-stealing “Devil Wears Prada” role and a gripping turn in “Sunshine Cleaning ” (in theaters now), a major part in a big-budget tentpole movie seemed only appropriate.

As it turned out, Blunt indeed landed what could be her breakout role, except it won’t be alongside Marvel’s Tony Stark in "Iron Man 2," but rather with Jack Black in Fox’s “Gulliver’s Travels.” In a conversation with MTV News, Blunt spoke out about having to drop out of “Iron Man” because of a scheduling conflict with “Gulliver’s.”

Is it possible to love Reese Witherspoon more than before? "Star Trek" fans just might, after seeing the mega star hit the red carpet at the premiere for her new film "Monsters vs. Aliens." Witherspoon wore a futuristic silver and green mini dress and flashed Vulcan gang signs (ok fine, it was just the Vulcan salute) at cameras. No reports as to any vocalization of "live long and prosper" from the actress, but I'm sure Spock would still be proud.

Now the only question is: Why? Anyone?

Anyway, back to the clothes. Witherspoon's attire could make for a really cool, modern look for the next round of star fleet uniforms, if future iterations of the Star Trek franchise moved forward in time after this year's origin story. (Check out a shot of Reese's dress after the jump, plus see all the "Monster vs. Aliens" stars in our premiere gallery.) Read more...
