Mark Wahlberg in 'Max Payne'Mark Wahlberg may have had some clunkers this past year, but he'll soon be everyone's favorite hardass again. Last week, he decided to poke a little fun at his Boston cop persona with "The B Team,", this week finds in possession of one of the hottest scripts in town. According to Variety, Wahlberg will be starring in "Prisoners," a script by newcomer Aaron Guzikowski that has the attention of every studio in town.

Wahlberg will be playing a Boston family man whose 6-year-old daughter and her friend are kidnapped. He takes matters into his own hands by kidnapping the man he thinks is responsible. It has shades of Liam Neeson's recent hit "Taken," but the script is said to be in the vein of "The Silence of the Lambs" and "Seven." Read more...

Paul RuddWhile visions of "Anchorman" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin" might dance in your head at the thought of Steve Carell and Paul Rudd reuniting, you should resist them, and try to concentrate on this film instead, as it's taken a long and painful road to the big screen. According to Variety, Jay Roach ("Meet the Fockers") is finally getting his "Dinner With Schmucks after numerous cancellations caused by the Paramount-DreamWorks divorce, and the departure of original star Sacha Baron Cohen.

It's finally found new life at Paramount, with Rudd and Carell coming aboard to star. The film is a remake of the 1998 French film "Le Diner de cons" and centers on a group of men who have a weekly habit of having a dinner party, and inviting the most pathetic and idiotic guests they can find. Today was a good day for muggles everywhere as Warner Bros. released a brand new trailer for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the sixth film in the wildly successful fantasy franchise. In it, we get forecasting of a very dark future for Harry and the Hogwarts crew, and never-before-seen footage of Professor McGonagall, Narcissa Malfoy, Luna Lovegood.

Tyler Perry in 'Madea Goes to Jail'Tyler Perry fans, you can now mark your schedules. Thanks to "Madea Goes to Jail" being a smash success, Perry and Lionsgate are wasting no time deciding what the one man movie factory would do next. The studio and their favorite son just announced the filmmaker's next two films and their release dates. Perry doesn't rest -- and he's even willing to immediately don the Madea suit, despite jokes that he planned to kill her off.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perry's next film will be "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself", which is based on his play of the same name. Taraji P. Henson, fresh off her Oscar nomination for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" will costar, and Perry's Madea will make an appearence. Read more...

Robert PattinsonIn a sea of attractive, swoon-worthy men like "Fringe" star Joshua Jackson (#33), Shia LeBeouf (#16), Adrian Grenier (#15) and even the Jonas Brothers (#14), the competition to make it to number one was very, very tough. Yet, somehow it's initially surprising to find out that "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson only made it to number four on a list of most eligible bachelors.

We are sure the Twilighters everywhere are collectively asking: How is he only number four? But, really they should be asking: How did he make a list meant for TV actors when he isn't even on a TV show? (And no, "Twilight" commercials don't seem to count.) Read more...

'Mad Max'Good ol’ Mad Max: post-apocalyptic gun-slinger with a need for blood-thirsty revenge! MTV News’ #4 Movie Badass of All Time! And...star of a 3-D anime feature film?!

Unlikely as that last one sounds, some big screen animated “Max” action is shaping up to become a reality, according to George Miller, the writer/director of the previous three films. The catch? He doesn’t want Max himself, Mel Gibson, anywhere near the project.

“We'll probably go a different route,” Miller told MTV News about the potential talent voicing the lead role. The plot would be partly lifted from the script of the fourth “Max” film, which was set to shoot in 2003 until financing collapsed in the wake of the Iraq War. Read more...

Dakota FanningKristen Stewart's Joan Jett may finally have her Cheri Currie. Variety reports that Dakota Fanning is in talks to play Currie for "The Runaways," the biopic of the groundbreaking punk rock band.

This could be the mature role that finally convinces audiences that Fanning is all grown up, and ready to be taken seriously. Though only fifteen, she's the same age Currie was when she made her debut with the band in 1975. In her lingerie and blue eyeshadow, she indulged in drugs and hard partying before leaving the band in 1977. But she made her mark while she was fronting it -- the Runaways' biggest hit, "Cherry Bomb, was written for the singer when she auditioned for the band. Read more...

Steve CarellWhen you think of macho, macho men, you probably think of Sly Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 300 Spartans, or the Greatest Badass of All, Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry. You may have to redefine that list after seeing the upcoming "Hi-T" and add a man named Steve Carell.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carell is set to produce and star in "Hi-T," a Warner Bros. comedy that's all about masculinity. Carell will play a man who begins taking testosterone injections after an injury leaves him unable to produce it. The final trailer for 20th Century Fox's much-anticipated "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" -- starring Hugh Jackman as Logan, Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed (Sabretooth) and Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Deadpool) -- will debut here on MTV.com tomorrow at 12 PM (EST).
