Despite what you may have heard all over the Internet the past few days, Summit has not hired a director for "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse," and all the announcements that Juan Antonio Bayona officially had the job were incorrect. The LA Times caught up with Summit's production president Erik Feig, who quickly shot down all reports of Bayona's hiring. "The 'Eclipse' directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job."
This much is true: Summit did meet with Bayona this week, as did Stephanie Meyer. But Bayona isn't sure he wants to join the "Twilight" universe, because its story and characters are already established, and he likes to do his own thing. But he is a fan of the series, so don't be too hard on him for his reluctance to join a set series! Read more...

The "Fast and the Furious" franchise has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Mindless action, hot women and the most important ingrediant of all: some downright jaw-dropping driving sequences. The two sequels that followed managed to find modest success at the box office, but even still, nothing managed to reach the high-adreneline flavor of the original. Now, things have changed...
"Fast & Furious" -- out April 3 -- reunites Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as reluctant teammates out to bust open a criminal cartel. But the story itself doesn't matter as much as the street racing, and thankfully this fourth film pushes things to the next level. You can get a sense of that in our exclusive clip below, and then stay tuned to MTV.com for even more coverage.

Recently, it was announced that Alan Doyle -- lead singer of the popular Canadian band Great Big Sea -- had been cast as Allen a-Dale in Ridley Scott's upcoming "Robin Hood" film. We caught up with the frontman soon after, and Doyle was ready to dish on his new role. The film is set to star Russell Crowe as Robin Hood and Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion.
Doyle's character, Allen a-Dale, is one of the Merry Men in the Robin Hood story. "He's a troubadour," exclaimed Doyle. "He's an Irish lute playing balladeer. He's an artist who loves to sing a song. With two or three other guys, Allen a -Dale is one of the Merry Men who's followed Robin Hood for a long time and hopes to continue to do so. Yes, I will be playing the lute in the film." The long anticipated "24” movie that Kiefer Sutherland is locked in for and Elisha Cuthbert "would love to be in" may get off the ground yet, and if the blockbuster TV series' star is to be believed, it may require a European vacation to film. The suspense-soaked action show will have to rethink its real-time hour-per-episode hook for the big-screen transition, but they may just be able to fast forward through 21 hours and chalk it up to Jack Bauer's jet-lag-induced nap if he has to hop continents for the story.
"It's something that we've always talked about because I think the fantastic thing about Europe, for something like '24,' is that it's very feasible to get from Prague to London in the course of a day," Sutherland told Digital Spy. Read more...

Whether we’re talking about “Meatballs” or “Friday the 13th,” there’s something about those nostalgic summer camp days that keeps filmmakers and audiences coming back year after year. Machete-wielding psychos, sexed-up teenagers—whatever! In the end we just want us some shenanigans at the lake and a bit of hanky-panky around the campfire. Which is why we’ve always kept a candle burning for cult comedy “Wet Hot American Summer,” hoping against hope that a film which grossed less than $300,000 at the box office might somehow be graced with another installment.
More than a year ago, MTV News brought legions of “WHAS” fans news that writer/director David Wain was considering making a stage musical based on his 2001 comedy about teenage counselors at an ‘80s summer camp. Now Wain tells MTV News that if he gets his way, Paul Rudd will be his leading man. Read more...

Some start their day with a plate of ham and eggs, and for others it's a power bar of some sort. And for millions of Americans it's as many ounces of coffee as they can ingest on their way to work. But Paul Rudd is different than most of us. Better? That's not for me to say. But certainly different. When I chatted with the "I Love You, Man" recently he (and co-star Jason Segel) revealed a breakfast love that is dare not spoken. Check it out and then click here to watch the rest of our zany interview with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.

First, he made Miley Cyrus jump off the screen and into our laps. Currently, he’s bringing the Jonas Brothers in all their shirtless glory to fans. So, which musical act is director Bruce Hendricks hoping to make a 3D concert film about next?
“I saw Springsteen at the Super Bowl,” Hendricks revealed to MTV when we caught up with the filmmaker recently. “I’d love to do him.”
Bruce Springsteen’s energy, stage antics and die-hard fanbase would seem to make him an ideal target for the next big 3D concert flick. It would be quite a departure, however, for the genre that has until now focused mainly on youth-oriented artists. Read more...

When you saw Jay Baruchel in "Knocked Up" or "Tropic Thunder", you probably didn't think "Now that guy is going to be a major movie star!" He seemed destined to be the second fiddle to bigger names. But now he's on his way to becoming what they call a "breakout star" and an "overnight success," as not only is he the title character of Disney's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", but he's now fulfilling a dream project with Universal. According to The Hollywood Reporter, that passion project is "Klutz," starring Baruchel as his original character of Johnny Klutz.
So, who is Johnny Klutz? Apparently he's a lovable loser who's impervious to pain, and was created out of Baruchel's love for physical comedy. The young actor has been pitching the concept for months and trying to spin a story out of him, before finally found help with scriptwriter Rob McKittrick, the writer/director of "Waiting." Academy Award nominations have eluded Joe Wright so far, but not for lack of trying. The young British director already has the critically acclaimed "Pride and Prejudice" and "Atonement" under his belt, and "The Soloist" as a possible contender for next year's award season. But just in case Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx don't attract Oscar, Wright has another English historical drama up his sleeve. According to Variety, he's set to direct "Indian Summer," a drama about the last days of British colonial rule in India.
Based on Alex von Tunzelmann's book, it's centered on Lord Mountbatten who travels to India accompanied by his beautiful young wife, Edwina. The glamorous couple was sent to hand control of India over to its people on the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947. Read more...
