Simon PeggContributed by Rodrigo Perez

While director Greg Mottola ("Superbad," "The Day Trippers") is in the throes of doing press and promotion for his upcoming dramedy "Adventureland," he's also knee-deep in pre-production for next film, "Paul," slated for release via Universal.

A collaboration between British comedians Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (the writing-acting team behind, "Shaun Of The Dead," "Hot Fuzz," and BBC cult comedy, "Spaced"), the flick, written by the two English comics, centers on two British tourists on a roadtrip across the U.S. to San Diego's movie geek mecca Comic-Con, but along the way they run into a little diversion out of this world.

"They meet an alien. in the desert, in the middle of nowhere," Motolla said carefully. "But that's about all I can say." Read More...

Assassination of a High School PresidentContributed by Jeff Sneider

It looks like the Yari Film Group’s ill-timed bankruptcy has killed the chance of a theatrical release for Brett Simon’s 2008 Sundance hit, “Assassination of a High School President.”

The film, which earned high praise from the notoriously tough Sundance crowd, stars Reece Thompson (the underseen "Rocket Science") as a Woodward-and-Bernstein-loving high school journalism student out to expose a plot concerning stolen SATs. Mischa Barton co-stars as the requisite hot Catholic schoolgirl while Bruce Willis plays a Gulf War veteran who also happens to be the principal. Read More...

Rosario DawsonFROM SPLASH PAGE: Not even a month after “Sin City” star Michael Clarke Duncan told us he hadn’t heard a peep about "Sin City 2", the plot thickens. Now, Rosario Dawson, the straight-talking star who once strapped herself into black leather to play the role of gang gal Gail says that she’s leaving room open on her 2009 calendar for the long-awaited sequel.

“Yeah, I talked to Robert [Rodriguez] and Frank [Miller],” she said of a recent conversation with the director and writer who joined forces with Quentin Tarantino for the hit 2005 film. “They actually just finished the script for ‘Sin City 2’ a few months ago.”

It's a fun (and sort of cruel) game to play I suppose to see how the "Harry Potter" kids have been navigating their way through their early teens, adolescence, and now into full bloom young adulthood.

Daniel Radcliffe has been having naughty escapades with a horse in front of a live audience on a regular basis. Emma Watson's had some slightly controversial photos pop up. And what of Rupert Grint? Well he bought an ice cream van once. So he's a little behind his co-stars but maybe this cover starts to make some slight headway. It's at least a different, more adult look for him. Courtesy of Blag magazine. Enjoy the cover.

Do you know what the best thing about the "Fast and the Furious" franchise is? The racing, which we showed you yesterday, but also the fact that when the cast show up for the movie premieres, they genuinely look like they're having a good time. They look like friends, and it makes me want to see their movies.

Last night's "Fast & Furious" premiere, the forth in the series, was no different.

The speedsters hung out, joked around, posed for photos and signed autographs for their loyal fans. It makes me speculate that they may even hang out when they're not getting paid to! And everyone looked great! No fashion faux pas from the principle cast. Jordana Brewster wore a very feminine light pink, Grecian-looking dress that fit perfectly. Michelle Rodriguez's form-fitting black lacy number was a bit risqué, with its nude undertones, but really showed off what great shape she is in. (Check out the cast after the jump, plus see all the "Fast & Furious" premiere photos in our gallery.) Read More...

Freida PintoContributed by Matthew Williams

We just read Danny Boyle denying his involvement with a slew of upcoming film projects. And now, file his “Slumdog Millionaire” star, Freida Pinto, into the rumor mill as the next Bond girl.

From across the pond, Britain’s The Sun is reporting that Pinto has been invited to a screen test for the next James Bond movie, tentatively titled “Bond 23.” Their source reports, “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting ‘Quantum of Solace.’ She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.” Read More...

After a week in which I've arranged for interviews with Russell Brand in an elevator and Dwayne Johnson in a taxi cab I am now convinced that cornering celebrities in confined spaces is THE way to go for me in the future. Stay tuned for our three hour chat with Dame Judi Dench in a sensory deprivation tank.

But before we get to that, let's talk about the artist formerly known as "The Rock." Dwayne was a great sport sitting down with us in a New York City cab to talk about "Race to Witch Mountain," whether I could ever amount to an action star, steroids, and horrible video game movies like "Doom." Like I said, good sport. Check out the whole Rough Cut: Dwayne Johnson here or dive right in below.

Aaron EckhartThe hardest thing about making an alien movie is finding new ways to depict your invaders; the hardest thing about being a leading man like Aaron Eckhart is finding new ways to reinvent yourself. These days, both struggles are being waged with “Battle: Los Angeles."

“We are doing our best to do something that hasn’t been done before,” said 29-year-old South African born director Jonathan Liebesman, best known for getting gory with “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” in 2006. “This is a more down and dirty alien movie. This isn’t like ‘Independence Day.’”

This time, Liebesman’s sci-fi action thriller centers on a marine platoon that must protect the City of Angels from alien invaders. Read More...

'It' (TV Miniseries)Many, many people are afraid of clowns. Many of us developed this phobia after reading Stephen King's "It", or by watching the 1990 ABC miniseries. (Yes, I was one of them, and I still can't look at a picture of Tim Curry as Pennywise without shivering.) Warner Bros. and Vertigo Entertainment have apparently decided that number is dwindling, because according to Variety, they're bringing "It" to the big screen. They've tapped Dave Kajganich ("The Invasion") to write the screenplay.

It's not an easy task -- King's novel is over a thousand sprawling pages and is more than just a story about an evil clown, as it actually ties into King's wider "Dark Tower" universe. Though it likes to take form as Pennywise the clown, "It" is actually a shapeless, evil entity that lurks in the sewers of Derry, Maine and preys on children by becoming their worst fears. One group of preteens takes it on, severely weakening it, and they vow to return as adults to destroy it once and for all. Cue the terror and nightmares. Read More...
