Wil WheatonContributed by Wil Wheaton

You may know Wil Wheaton as Gordie in "Stand By Me," or perhaps you know him as Wesley Crusher from "Star Trek: The Next Generation." We however, know him as a nerd god, who's a walking encyclopedia of "Trek" and "Watchmen" knowledge. That's why we invited him to the taping of our new movie show "Spoilers" (airing this Saturday at 8pm EST!), to see "Watchmen" and "Trek" footage. You can read Wil Wheaton's thoughts on "Watchmen" here, and "Trek" below.

It was all stuff that I've seen already, but it looked cool and everyone in the theater loved it. You know, a lot of my fellow Trekkies are all worked up because the trailer shows all this action stuff, and I keep hearing people dismissively calling it "Star Trek: 90210” just because there are young people in it or something. I really hope those guys can take a step back and realize a couple of things: these trailers and previews aren't aimed at us; they're aimed at teenagers, so they have to be presented in a language that they understand. Sigourney Weaver in 'Alien'

It’s official: Ellen Ripley is the most badass female movie character of all time. So now the only question that remains is a simple one: Will we ever see her again? “You know, Fox was going to do another one,” Sigourney Weaver said to us recently while accepting Ripley’s honor. “They had it written. Joss Whedon wrote it.”

As Weaver remembered it, however, the script from the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” mastermind just didn’t rock her world. “It took place on earth,” she explained. “Which, I have to say, just really didn’t interest me. And I just felt that every time we went out there, we needed to have a really original piece.” Read more...

Josh Brolin in 'W'He’s made movies about pornographers and serial killers, tortured ‘Nam soldiers and tortured ‘Nam vets, assassinated presidents and disgraced presidents. But to hear Oliver Stone tell it, his last film might have been his riskiest.

“I’m lucky to have survived,” the Oscar-winning director told MTV on the eve of the DVD release of 2008’s George Bush biopic “W.” “It was a movie that was dangerous to make.” What could be risky about depicting a sitting president, dramatizing events still fresh—and sometimes painful—in viewers’ minds and hustling crazily to release the film less than a month before the election? Oh, right. “It could have gotten killed,” Stone went on. “We survived the onslaught.” Read more...

As Juliet once said to Romeo: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Now, modern-day star crossed lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are getting ready to carry on with their cinematic love affair. But will the second “Twilight” movie smell as sweet now that it has a brand-new name?

MTV News has the scoop on the official name and logo for Chris Weitz’s soon-to-film sequel to “Twilight.” Dubbed “The Twilight Saga's New Moon” (although the title treatment leaves off the "'s") the film’s official title art stays true to the look of the first movie while swapping in an orange tint, a subtle crescent moon, and the release date of 11.20.09.

Although the look of the new logo will undoubtedly get Twilighter tongues wagging, it’s the five-word official title that is the most prominent variation from Stephenie Meyer’s simple “New Moon.” Read more...

Wil Wheaton and Vanessa White WolfJust a few days before the taping of "Spoilers" (airing this Saturday at 8pm EST) we decided that we wanted a "Star Trek" expert to weigh in on a few shots we'd be showing in our exclusive featurette. I emailed our senior online producer, Brian, a huge "Trek" fan, to see if he could think of any LA-based experts to invite on the show. He immediately suggested "Stand By Me" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation" star Wil Wheaton, easily one of the biggest, most high-profile “Trek” fans around (famously the only “TNG” castmember who was a fan of the franchise going into it).

Brian made some calls and a few hours later, emailed me with the excellent news that Wil was totally into the idea and would love to attend the taping. As a Trekker and an avowed comics fan who believes “Watchmen” changed his life, he was the perfect addition to the “Spoilers” family. Read more...

Linda Hamilton in 'Terminator'There’s a reason MTV News just named Sarah Connor our #8 Movie Badass of All Time. 24 years after she battled Arnold’s T-800 cyborg and 17 years after she donned a revealing tank top to do sweaty pull-ups in a mental institution, we just can’t quit Connor. Neither, it seems, can her alter-ego Linda Hamilton. In an exclusive interview with MTV, the actress revealed for the first time that she’s in active negotiations to reprise her iconic role in this May’s “Terminator Salvation.”

“We are talking,” Hamilton told us during a wide-ranging conversation for her Movie Badass selection. “I haven’t read it yet. I don’t know what direction they will go in.” Read more...
