FROM SPLASH PAGE: It's been six years since David Carradine's voice first introduced Quentin Tarantino's title villain to audiences in "Kill Bill." When the blockbuster pair of films blew up at the box office in 2003 and 2004, the director said his next installment of "Kill Bill" would be 10 years away, but it's also been reported that a potential anime prequel could be in the works.
"He planned an anime version of the life of Bill before the movie -- which would have to be anime because I’m not getting any younger," Carradine said recently in an interview with MTV News. "He’s also talking about two sequels to it."
For more of David Carradine's thoughts on the "Kill Bill" anime prequel and potential sequels, head over to SplashPage.MTV.com.

From Mumbai to London to Hollywood, "Slumdog Millionaire" apparently couldn't have arrived at a better time: In just a few weeks, the flick has gone from underdog to top dog.
After cleaning up at the Golden Globes last month, the film is poised to do so at the Oscars as well, having been nominated a massive 10 times, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Anyway, you can probably tell that I like this film a lot. So on Tuesday, it was my pleasure to spend some time with two of the film's stars, Dev Patel and the lovely Freida Pinto. Read more...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Recently, the Interwebs exploded with talk that director Zack Snyder might consider a move many fanboys would find nothing short of blasphemy: Shooting a sequel to the “Watchmen” movie that hits theaters next month.
The good news is that Snyder insists "Watchmen 2" will never happen; the better news is that actress Malin Akerman is among the many stars of the film who’d also likely say "no" to the idea.
“It would be interesting to see,” guessed the actress, who plays Silk Spectre II in the film. “But I don’t really know how [a sequel] would ever be possible. Because ‘Watchmen’ is ‘Watchmen,’ and we covered pretty much the whole novel.”

The search for the Greatest Movie Badass of All Time is on! MTV News has asked accomplished filmmakers, actors and you, the audience, to vote for your favorites. Now we've tabulated the results and found our 10 finalists for the top spot. Who will reign supreme as the Greatest Badass of All Time? Find out on February 6 at 7:15 p.m. when MTV announces the winner live at New York's Comic-Con and right here at MTV.com.
So with that in mind, we asked Diablo Cody -- the Oscar-winning writer of "Juno" and the upcoming "Jennifer's Body" -- for her list of her 10 favorite movie badasses. Check out her list (and her reasons why) below:
10. Carrie in "Carrie" (Sissy Spacek): This girl geek doesn't just turn the tables — she upends the entire friggin' prom. When one of Carrie's tormenters gets clocked with a fire hose, it's one of the best "hell yeah!" moments in cinema history. And somehow Spacek made a bucket of red corn syrup look like haute couture.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Of all the recent casting rumors surrounding "Iron Man 2," it's clear that the one story that has fanboys praying to the Marvel Gods to come true has to be the addition of Oscar-nominee Mickey Rourke to the already powerhouse cast, possibly playing the Soviet-era villain The Crimson Dynamo.
However, according to a recent exclusive sit-down with "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. on the set of his upcoming film "Sherlock Holmes," that casting speculation may have been a bit premature.
"That’s actually incorrect," Downey told MTV News when asked if Rourke was being considered for the aforementioned Iron Man rogue. When pressed if, instead of Crimson Dynamo, Rourke was up for the role of Whiplash, another potential role bandied about on blogs these days, Downey had a more cryptic response.

It was probably inevitable that after the monster success of Catherine Hardwicke's feature film version of "Twilight," that a companion book would hit store shelves. But who guessed it would be written by Hardwicke herself?
Publisher Little, Brown and Company has announced that Hardwicke will pen "Twilight: Director's Notebook - The Story of How We Made the Movie," with a release date of March 17. The title -- mirrored after her actual notebook -- will take readers through the creative process of adapting Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" for the silver screen.
According to the publisher, the book will contact "inside secrets on casting, location scouting and wardrobe to storyboard sketches, behind-the-scenes photographs, personal notes about Catherine’s favorite scenes and much more." Read more...
"King Lear" is one of those starring roles that actors are supposed to dread -- at least according to my Shakespeare professor. Apparently, once you're old enough to play Lear, you're done and there are no more great roles left for you.
Either Al Pacino is comfortable with that, or he doesn't bother with such silly fears, because Variety reports that he's taking on the role of the aged king for Michael Radford. "Al has been offered this role many times over the years, but didn't feel ready," says the film's producer Barry Navidi said. "He's ready now."
Working with Radford probably helps -- the director and actor previously tackled Shakespeare together for "The Merchant of Venice" in 2004.
You know the story -- "King Lear" is one of Shakespeare's darkest plays, where an aged king decides to divide his kingdom up among his three daughters, offering the largest share to the one who loves him best. Two of his daughters connive and flatter him, while his youngest, Cordelia, refuses to put her affection to such a test. The story is a descent into atrocity and horror, and may just have the bleakest ending in all of literature.
We might treated to some off-camera drama as well -- Pacino's "Lear" is now the second in production, and will be a rival to Anthony Hopkins' performance, who will play Lear for director Joshua Michael Stern, and be father to Keira Knightley, Naomi Watts, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Both productions are taking the traditional approach, and will be set in England's Dark Ages. I sense a publicity race around the corner.
MTV readers, who is your preferred King Lear -- Hopkins or Pacino? Which adaptation do you want to see more?

With remakes of his films being announced on a weekly basis, it's pretty cool to see John Carpenter back in the directing game. According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, Carpenter is set to direct "The Ward" for Echo Lake, and has already cast his damsel in distress -- Amber Heard of "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane."
Heard will play a young woman who somehow becomes trapped in a mental institution. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's haunted by a malevolent ghost, who is a darker entity than she could have ever imagined. Read more...

"He's Just Not That Into You" has quite the star-studded cast. So, how does a young Hollywood starlet make a splash at a premiere that will include all your gorgeous castmates, both male and female? If you're Scarlett Johansson, you debut your new brunette locks.
The gorgeous ex-blond looked radiant last night at the Hollywood premiere of her upcoming romantic comedy, along side the likes of co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Connelly. Not only did Scarlett stand out with her long brown hair, but also in her pink floral gown. The contrast between dark hair and bright dress stood out against the blue pastel of the step-and-repeat backdrop. All-in-all a red carpet triumph for the actress. (Check out the hair after the jump, and then view the full photo gallery from the "He's Just Not That Into You" premiere.) Read more...
