In the annals of teen girl fandom, could there be any more of a perfect storm than "Twilight" and the Jonas Brothers coming together? I think not, which is why we're happy to report that the JoBros would totally be down with contributing on the soundtrack for "New Moon," provided they're asked.

Check out their comments in the video below, and then tell us if your head would explode from the merger.

'X-Men: First Class'FROM SPLASH PAGE: It's been a few months since we last heard anything about "X-Men: First Class," the film that looks to explore the younger days of some of Marvel Comics' popular mutants. In fact, the last news that surfaced about the project was the attachment of "Gossip Girl" and "Chuck" executive producer/writer Josh Schwartz as the film's writer -- an announcement that prompted much debate over whether he'd make the film his directorial debut (or if he'd even been offered the chance).

During an interview with MTV News at last weekend's New York Comic Con (appropriately enough), Schwartz cleared up at least one question surrounding the film... and created a few more in the process.

"No, that's not true," Schwartz told MTV News when asked if he passed on directing "X-Men: First Class," as some rumors suggested. "But I would be terrified to have the first thing I direct be a giant franchise movie."

Clive Owen in 'Children of Men'“Children of Men” told a haunting apocalyptic tale of a world in which all women are infertile and mankind is slowly dying off. Clive Owen and Julianne Moore gave admirably restrained performances. Beautifully shot, combining the best elements of the sci-fi and thriller genres, “Children” was one of the finest films of 2006—and no one went to see it (the US gross didn’t even cover half its $76 million budget).

Yet rumors of another “Children” installment have persisted, so writer/director Alfonso Cuarón spoke with MTV News to shoot down those rumors (as well as rumors he’ll be directing an adaptation of emo comic series, “The Umbrella Academy”). Or rather, he spoke with us to mock the very idea of picking up the “Children” story where he left it, with both Owen and Moore’s characters dead and the first baby born in years stowed away on a secret humanity-saving ship. Zachary LeviThere must be a rule that if you star on an NBC comedy, you have to play second-fiddle to CG chipmunks -- or maybe it's a rule that if Jason Lee does it, every guy should. One or the other has Zachary Levi ("Chuck") joining Lee and Cameron Richardson in "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel." The sequel will be directed by Betty Thomas, who replaced Tim Hill in December.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Levi will play cousin of Lee's character, Dave, who somehow gets tangled up in singing chipmunk hijinks. Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney return to act as the chipmunks' voices. Read more...

Sam Rockwell in 'Chock'Last month, we brought you the news that Minnie Driver and Hilary Swank were starring together in "Betty Anne Waters," the true story of one woman's legal battle to rescue her brother from prison. Now, Swank finally has someone to rescue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Rockwell has joined the cast, and will play Waters' wrongfully imprisoned brother. Tony Goldwyn is directing the film, and Swank is executive producer.

While Oscar-winner Swank hasn't been a big name at the box office lately, Rockwell is becoming one of those actors that everyone loves. His presence might be just the thing that tips this film into solid "Million Dollar Baby" territory for Swank, who really deserves to have her popular credibility rise again. Read more...

Eddie Murphy in 'Beverly Hills Cop'Brett Ratner wants everyone to be clear about one thing: he is not about to screw up the first “Beverly Hills Cop” in over 15 years—so everybody just chill out.

“It’s a hard R,” the director promised MTV News in an exclusive interview, rebutting web gossip that he’ll be helming a watered-down PG-13 reboot of the beloved action comedy franchise staring Eddie Murphy as foul-mouthed, wise-cracking Detroit cop Axel Foley.

The remake will not only maintain the original movie’s rating and star, it will also carry the same title. “We’re not going to call it ‘4,’ he said. “It will be a new ‘Beverly Hills Cop.’” Read more...
