Ever since she announced that she’d be leaving the series, Twilighters all over the world have come to miss Catherine Hardwicke. Now, the female filmmaker with the biggest opening weekend in the history of Hollywood is back – as an author?
Last week, we reported that the “Thirteen” auteur would be releasing a “Director’s Notebook,” stuffed with all those sketches, scribbles and script notes that she’d been telling us about since we were on the “Twilight” set last Spring. Now, thanks to a new “Entertainment Weekly” cover story that boasts a shaggy-faced Robert Pattinson, we’ve got our first peek at the March 17th book.

“When the movie made enough money, they thought it was worth it,” Hardwicke told “EW” of the book, which will be distributed by Stephenie Meyer’s publisher. “They said ‘Now you have three and a half weeks to do it! And I was like ‘Okay, I’m just going to keep writing until they rip this out of my hands.”
The result is a fascinating peek into the mind of the former Production Designer, whose scribbled notations include “As Bella falls in love, she starts to dress a little more feminine – floral prints, more form-fitting, etc.” and the casting requirements she had while casting Edward:
- Pale skin
- Looks like he is 17
- Great actor
- Great chemistry with Kristen
- Best looking guy in the world.
Needless to say, the eventual casting of Robert Pattinson would not let Catherine down. And the book will hopefully do the same for Twilighters everywhere, when it hits bookshelves next month.
So Twilighters, what are your thoughts on the “EW” cover? Do you like Robert and Kristen’s new look?
