Mickey Rourke in 'The Wrestler'Is it just me or do you scan the Oscar nominations list as much for who didn't make the cut as for who did. Sure, let's all hoot and holler for Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr. (now if they weren't nominated I'd be in a surly mood) but surely some of your favorites didn't land on the coveted list.

If you're a Clint Eastwood fan (and who isn't?) today wasn't the best day. Eastwood failed to earn a nod for his much praised acting in "Gran Torino" and also failed to duplicate his Golden Globe nod for his song from the same film. Oh how I was praying for an Eastwood singing turn at the Kodak theater! And speaking of the Best Song category, how does Bruce Springsteen not get a nod for his soulful end credits contribution to "The Wrestler"? Read More...

'Tom and Jerry'Here's one of those stories that will make you wonder if Hollywood really has run out of ideas. According to Variety, Warner Bros is bringing the Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Tom and Jerry" to the big screen as a live-action/CG hybrid, with an eye to turning it into a franchise.

Previously, they announced plans to do the same with "Yogi Bear," and Robert Rodriguez has been attached to a remake of "The Jetsons" since 2007.

Eric Gravning is penning the script, which will be an origin story for the feuding cat-and-mouse. If you ever wondered how they met and why they hate each other (other than, you know, being natural enemies) this movie will answer all your questions. Read More...

Dakota FanningFROM SPLASH PAGE: At the age of 14, Dakota Fanning is already one of Hollywood's most bankable young actors, thanks to roles in blockbusters such as "War of the Worlds" and "Charlotte's Web." However, her starring role in "Push," the upcoming, comics-inspired thriller about government-trained psychics on the run from a shadowy agency, offers up a decidedly more mature part for the teen to play.

In an interview with MTV, "Push" director Paul McGuigan said he had few doubts about Fanning's talent and her ability to play Cassie Holmes, a snarky, teenage "watcher" who can glimpse images of the future. In fact, McGuigan told MTV, he insisted on working with the actress.

"When I read the movie, the character that stood out was her character," said McGuigan. "I said to everyone, I can't do this movie unless Dakota Fanning's going to do it, because to me she was perfect for the role."

Orlando BloomMark Ruffalo ended his 2008 on a very sad note, so we're happy to report that the new year finds his directorial debut coming back together. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ruffalo's "Sympathy for Delicious" has attracted two new cast members in Orlando Bloom and Laura Linney. Bloom is replacing James Franco, who had to step out after the film was delayed due to Ruffalo's personal tragedy.

Written by Christopher Thornton, the story follows a paralyzed DJ who is struggling to survive on the streets of L.A. who turns to faith healing and mysteriously develops the ability to heal the sick. He can't heal his own paralysis, however, and it might have something to do with how readily he cashes in his gift to achieve his dreams of rock stardom. Read More...

Normally, at this part in a Sundance review, I'm supposed to tell you what the buzz was like as I waited in line.

Can I let you in on a secret? Just between you and me? I didn't wait in line. I snuck in, without a ticket or anything.

Knowing I was going to interview the stars on Saturday morning, and that I hadn't been able to secure a "Helen" ticket, I thought I'd try showing up at the screening and talking my way in - y'know, research. But instead, three age-old tricks of the trade were reinforced to me once again: Read More...

Billy Bob Thornton -- here at Sundance to promote both "Manure" and "The Informers" -- is a lot of things, but we never really pegged him as having a clinical aversion to going outdoors. That kind of made for a slightly off Sundance experience, with Thornton describing how most of his festival time is spent. Check it out below, and then click here to watch all of our Sundance celebrity interviews.

"Humpday" is the type of movie with a plot that intrigues you, actors that endear themselves to you -- and a mind-numbing lack of focus that sucker punches you in the face repeatedly until you just want to give up and walk out.

Here's the breakdown: Two straight guys get loaded one night, come up with the wild idea of making a porn film, but can't think of a taboo left to be broken. When some free-minded girls convince them that sex between two straight men is the only virgin snow left to trample upon, the two "bro-mance" buddies keep daring one another to back down ... as the actuality of the situation keeps looming larger. Jim Carrey's been in the movie business a lot of years, but surprisingly this is his first trip to Sundance. He claims filming "Dumb and Dumber" here put Park City on the map, which may or may not be the case, but some sort of monument is in order ... according to Jim.

So, how does a festival virgin spend his time here? By hanging out with people he doesn't usually -- like 50 Cent! Check out what he has to say about partying with 50, and then watch our other celebrity Sundance interviews, including Kristen Stewart, Chris Rock, Michelle Trachtenberg and more!
