Oh we just can’t get enough of “New Moon” casting drama! A few weeks ago, the rumor mill had Brenda Song and Vanessa Hudgens vying for the role of Leah; then to the joy of Twilighters worldwide, it was finally announced that Taylor Lautner would keep the role of Jacob Black. I know it’s been a roller-coaster ride of emotions for all of you Twilight fans, but it’s about to get a little crazier!
There’s been one more name thrown into the mix of actors who may join the “New Moon” cast, and I have a feeling you’re going to like this one. (I do!)
E! Online is reporting that wide-eyed, pale, and blonde Dakota Fanning is in talks to play the angelic but deadly vampire, Jane.
Jane is one of the Guards of the Volturi -- the largest coven and the judge and jury of the vampire world. And though Twilighters love to hate Jane, can they love to hate Dakota? Jane loves to inflict pain on anyone that crosses her and her fellow Volturi members.
On the other hand, Dakota is cute, bubbly and looks like she couldn’t hurt a fly. She doesn’t typically play characters as sadistic as Jane. We all remember how cute she was as Lorraine “Ray” Schleine in “Uptown Girls” and I will always see her as Tom Cruise’s daughter, Rachel, in “War of the Worlds.”
However, the one thing to remember about Dakota is that she’s an amazing actress. She’s only 14 and she’s been in more films than actors twice her age. Remember when she melted your heart in “I Am Sam?” Don’t lie, because she did!
Although Twilighters take pride in the fact that the film’s cast was comprised of relatively unknown actors (all of my news alerts on Robert Pattinson show that this cast is no longer “unknown”), I think even the most devoted Twilight fan will eventually see A-Lister Dakota as a great Jane. In fact, I can’t see anyone else playing the role. I believe in her acting chops!

Do you agree with me? Do you think there’s a better Jane out there? Prove me wrong!
