One of the craziest rumors to come out of "The Dark Knight" mania was that Cher was in the running to play Catwoman. Well, that didn't come true, but it looks like her next movie will have her playing the most deadly feline of all -- a cougar. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cher is paring up with that legendary Jackass Johnny Knoxville for "The Drop Out."
Written and directed by Ricky Blitt (who was also responsible for Knoxville's "The Ringer"), Knoxville will play a 35-year-old college student who is finally kicked out of his parents' house. Desperate for free rent, food, and television, he decides to get in good with the hot 65-year-old woman next door.
Can you guess who's playing that role?
Complicating matters is the hottie's son, who also happens to be a 35-year-old slacker, and who is desperate to find a father figure -- even if that replacement dad is his own age. His role has yet to be cast.
Cher let news about the project slip in her November appearance on "Ellen" (check out the video below), describing the role as "something you wait for your whole life -- and it just happened to come now when I'm the perfect age for it." It will be her first movie role since 2003, and maybe I'm just an unapologetic Cher fan, but I'll be glad to see her taking a break from Vegas to romance Knoxville.
MTV readers, do you think Knoxville and Cher will make a lovely couple -- or does the idea (and the cougar label) just give you the creeps?
