If you are squirming at all the romantic-comedies cast this week, then here's the movie for you. You may remember that Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn were teaming up onscreen again for "Couples Retreat," and were bringing Jason Bateman and Faizon Love along for the ride. Now, they finally have some girls to make up their other halves -- and just when I was thinking Bateman and Favreau looked really cute together.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, they'll be joined by Kristen Bell, Kristen Davis, and Malin Akerman, who will be playing Mrs. Bateman, Mrs. Favreau, and Mrs. Vaughn, respectively. I think those are the three prettiest and funniest couples this side of People Magazine. Poor Faizon Love hasn't had his other half cast yet, but I doubt he'll be left in the lonely cold for too long.
The comedy centers around four couples who visit a tropical island resort -- but only one is actually there to save their marriage, the other three are there for the white sands and pina coladas, but get sucked into the resort's couples therapy.
Much craziness will ensue, and because the script has been penned by Favreau, it will actually be funny. His frequent collaborator and friend, Peter Billingsley, will direct. So, take comfort that it isn't all squishy romance and happy endings being green-lit this week. You'll get to watch a very talented cast suffer the slings and arrows of love for your comedic pleasure.
