How many of you have been good "Twilighters" this week?
If you have, then please enjoy the fruit of your labors and watch this brand-new "clip" from the upcoming film. Santa Claus has come early this year.
As for the rest of you (and you know who you are!), you've already seen this footage because it appeared on the test-discs sent to film critics who were supposed to use them to review the DVD for "Penelope." Somebody somewhere held up a camera to their TV set and uploaded that footage onto the web last weekend, and lots of people were treated to footage of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in Edward's bedroom, discussing her hatred of dancing before he whisks her out the window for some serious spider-monkey time.
The leak even prompted the studio behind "Twilight" to send out a message to anyone who might do such a thing:
Dear Journalist,
As a reminder, we are operating on your journalistic trust and integrity by sending you the final product for the PENELOPE DVD with the exclusive TWILIGHT sneak peek.
The final product was sent to you for review purposes ONLY. Under no circumstances can any of the material be repurposed online or for broadcast, or else it will become a piracy issue.
Hey, we here at MTV aren't here to judge you if you watched it. But at the same time, we don't post copyrighted footage until the appropriate parties give us the high sign.
With that in mind, here's your guilt-free opportunity to watch a good chunk of the "Penelope" footage. You get some b-roll from the set, a few brief clips, and Stephenie Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg discussing the love between the film's two central characters. What you don't get, however, is much of the actual scene itself. For that, you'll just have to stand in line with everybody else on July 15th and pay $19.99 for a movie that has Christina Ricci wearing a pig nose.
So without further rambling, here's the new footage for the "play-pause-rewind-play again" pleasure of Twilight Nation. And for the first time ever: No shaky handheld camera angle to make you dizzy!
What do you think of the footage? Do you watch illegal clips when they mysteriously appear online, or are you able to resist such temptations?
