The headline above may seem a preposterous question. After all, Eastwood is 78-years-old, and hasn't gone by the name Harry Callahan since Jim Carrey went by James (check out the credits for the last "Dirty Harry" flick, "The Dead Pool"). But in a year when a new "Indiana Jones" flick is fast approaching a $300 million gross, well stranger things have happened.
I got the rare opportunity to pose the question right to Mr. Eastwood himself (check out my full Clint Eastwood on "Dirty Harry" interview here) and he left the door at least slightly ajar. Said Eastwood, "There could be a scenario. I suppose if some mythical writer came out of nowhere and it was the greatest thing on the planet, I'd certainly have to think about it...I'm not sure about being Dirty Harry again, but who knows?"
So basically the ball is in the writing community's collective court? Does someone have an awesome idea for one more Dirty Harry tale? Would you guys even want to see him pick up that .44 Magnum one more time?
