By any account, it’s a fire of historic proportions for Universal Studios, where a massive three-alarm blaze ripped through the back lot, destroying the popular King Kong attraction, tape libraries and entire sets (including, apparently, the town square from “Back to the Future”). Luckily, no one was seriously hurt and since firefighters thankfully have the fire under control, we’re happy to report that the 2008 MTV Movie Awards will go on as planned here at Universal, with the live preshow at 7:30 p.m. ET and the main show at 8 p.m. See our report in the video below.
