Our guest blogger Laura Culpepper will be covering the highlights from now through the big show on Sunday, so check in daily as she live-blogs her Movie Awards experience!
Today was really fun, but not because of celebrities or movie screenings. Instead, I spent the day at the Gibson Amphitheatre, which is where the MTV Movie Awards will happen tomorrow.
The atmosphere was energetic as crew members began putting the final touches on the area. First we walked down the gold carpet and into the auditorium where the actual awards will take place (it looks pretty rad, by the way).
Then we all sat down with Kim Stolz and Tim Kash who will be hosting the pre-show and did a table read. It was really cool to see just how much really goes into an event that seems so spontaneous from the outside.
From there we headed back out to the carpet where Tim and Kim would do a complete rehearsal of tomorrow's pre-show, but before that I spotted a true fashionista: Christian Sirianos from "Project Runway." I'm happy to report that he is exactly the same in person.
I was asked to be a stand-in for Kim's rehearsal, and answered the same questions that would be asked of the stars themselves tomorrow night. Just for kicks, here's a list of the stars I stood in for: Anne Hathaway, Ellen Page, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Stewart, Whitney from "The Hills," Megan Fox, and last but not least, Robert Downey Jr.
Tomorrow is finally the big day, and I'll be hitting the gold carpet bright and early to stand in on rehearsals again. For the pre-show you will find me in the fan bleachers on the gold carpet, so feel free to say hello if you spot me!
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on MTV on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, with MTV News' "Coming Attractions" preshow kicking the evening off at 7:30 p.m. ET! Meanwhile, stay tuned to the MTV Movies Blog and MovieAwards.MTV.com.
