Like the undead themselves, modern zombie movies keep coming and coming. Get ready for at least one more, Paul W.S. Anderson told MTV News.
Well, maybe.
“Resident Evil: Extinction,” the third video-game to big screen adaptation in the popular series will likely not be the last, Anderson said, although talks for a fourth film are still in the very earliest stages of development.
“I’m just starting to talk to Sony about it,” Anderson confessed. “I don’t even know if anything will come of it, but there’s a possibility it might happen.” Read more…

The new James Bond trailer is finally here, and Bond appears to go rogue, a plotline last explored in “License to Kill” in 1989. From the 2-minute trailer, “Quantum of Solace” may seem to borrow visual elements from the “Bourne” franchise, but Bond’s motivation is very different and very dangerous: revenge.
Car chases, plane chases, boat chases … too “Bourne”? Not enough? Give us your thoughts below!

After two years in development, Mark Wahlberg and Darren Aronofsky’s long gestating boxing biopic on underdog champion “Irish” Micky Ward is finally going to begin shooting in October, the star told MTV News.
“I’ve been training for two years now. I’m ready,” he said. “I want to look like a champ, not a chump.”
But Wahlberg has more than just a few moves to his credit these days, he’s also got a healthy dose of fighting words for anybody who thinks that what the world needs least right now is another boxing movie.
Yes, there have been many classic movies to center on the sport, Wahlberg admits, and, yes, he told us last year, he’d of course like it to hold up to “Raging Bull,” the undisputed champion of the genre. Read more…

Jason Bateman would like the “Hancock” filmmakers to know one thing: if/when a sequel gets underway, he’s got a few ideas he’d like to throw their way. At least, that’s what the star told us when he sat down for a live Q&A with MTV News held at Sony Style store in New York City. Chief among his proposals? “I can fly!” he enthused. Watch his chat on the subject below, and then click here to watch the rest of our discussion as we cover the Will Smith superhero film, “Arrested Development” and more.

This weekend, fans from around the country and as far away as Austria descended on tiny Morgan, Utah, to celebrate the 1990 cult classic “Troll 2″ in the city where it was filmed, and with the largest reunion of cast members yet. In between Q&A sessions and movie screenings, they collected autographs, tossed spears, devoured unhealthy amounts of baloney sandwiches, and faced off on “Guitar Hero II” (which includes a nod to the flick in the form of a venue called Nilbog High School).
For the uninitiated, “Troll 2″ is about a family who vacations in the town of Nilbog, only to discover that it’s the goblin kingdom (there are no trolls in “Troll 2,” nor is it a sequel to “Troll”). The shape-shifting shorties attempt to trick the Waits clan into eating a substance that will transform them into a half-man/half-plant state, suitable for consumption by the vegetarian villains.
On top of all that, throw in the fact that the film was made on a shoestring budget, shot by an Italian director who spoke little English, and starred a cast of amateurs, and you’ve got a recipe for one of the most enjoyably bad movies ever filmed. So enjoyable, in fact, that it’s been drawing raucous sell-out crowds for the past year or so as it tours theaters, inspiring a documentary about the phenomenon called “Best Worst Movie,” due next year. Doug Jones wants you to know that he would play a hemorrhoid in a Guillermo del Toro film if asked, that he would follow the visionary “Hellboy” director anywhere he chooses to go. Doug Jones also wants you to know that he hopes that includes “The Hobbit,” del Toro’s next project. Most of all, though, Doug Jones wants you to know that he isn’t officially cast in that movie, that there’s nothing on paper, that anything and everything could change, and that to state or otherwise imply otherwise would be premature at best and plain wrong at worst.
And we wouldn’t dare go against any of these desires. Except, well, there’s one tiny thing more Doug Jones also wants you to know:
“There’s been lots of speculation. I wouldn’t want to ruin anything. Guillermo creates things with me in mind and he’s got a better image of what I can do than I do,” the man otherwise known as the Silver Surfer and Abe Sapien told MTV News, a wicked and knowing smile across his face. “However, there might be an elf king, father of Legolas kind of character that I would love.” Read more…

That’s our question of the day, as Hollywood delivers us the weekend of “W”’s…both “Wanted” and Pixar’s “Wall-E” arrive in theaters today. So which of the two will you be checking out? Both? In one corner, you’ve got the universally-acclaimed flick featuring the cutest-ever-robot-in-the-history-of-Hollywood, and on the other you have Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy teaming with Morgan Freeman to deliver a mile-a-minute smattering of bullet-time craziness. Both are said to be fun, so which is it?
In the meantime, check out our report on “Wanted” below.

You might know that the biggest summer movie this year not involving superheroes is “Wall-E,” Pixar’s latest and greatest animated film. You might even be anxious to see it this weekend. But will you see everything? Like every Pixar movie, “Wall-E” is filled with Easter Eggs hidden throughout. Like what?
– In an article, I explored whether “Wall-E” was a cautionary tale about the environment. I’ll spoil it for you: It most certainly is. But don’t think the folks at Pixar aren’t at least acknowledging their own part in the problem. In the movie, Wall-E has a collection of unique trash he finds particularly interesting. One of those pieces of junk? “Hammy,” John Ratzenberger proclaimed of his “Toy Story” character. “He shows up in Wall-E’s junk pile.” Read more…

Yup, that’s right. Seth MacFarlane, the creator of “Family Guy” and the voice behind many of its characters (Peter, Brian and Stewie, just to name a few), is expanding into Hollywood and we’ve got the first look at the result. In Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” MacFarlane voices Johann Krauss, a powerful psychic whose soul is forced to reside within a protective suit. Watch it below and then click here to check out our interview with del Toro about the film. “Hellboy II” hits theaters on July 11.

Interviewing the lovely Kate Beckinsale is always a treat, but we never expected that she might appreciate our chats as much as we do. The “Underworld” star recently charmed us by extolling the common ground between actors and journalists: “There are so many similar things…You really have to have a passion for either.”
The British beauty gained a newfound respect for the journalistic profession, courtesy of her role in “Nothing But the Truth,” an upcoming drama about an embattled reporter. “I play a journalist who exposes someone as a covert CIA operative and has to go to jail because she won’t reveal her source,” Beckinsale explained.
That series of events may seem ripped from the headlines, but don’t cry biopic just yet. “I don’t play Judith Miller,” Beckinsale insisted, though she conceded, “But [my character] is a bit like Judith Miller.” The topical flick, slated for a 2009 release, also stars Alan Alda, Matt Dillon, and David Schwimmer.
