Some people are excited to see Benicio del Toro, while others are talking about the newest “Narnia” character. Personally, I’m more curious to see what Catherine Hardwicke and her “Twilight” team do with Taylor Lautner, an actor who could someday join Lon Chaney and Jason Bateman as the greatest werewolves of all time.
Our interview with Lautner just went live, so be sure to read up on his breakdown of Jacob Black, his new driving skills, and an eagerness to get half-naked. As any Twilighter would expect, the 16-year-old star is eager to film the proposed sequels that would greatly expand his role by putting him into some hairy situations.
“The coolest thing about being a werewolf in the second film, if that were to happen, is to be shirtless; that would be pretty fun,” he laughed, thinking about his Portland surroundings. “It would definitely be chilly.”
“[Jacob's angry werewolf side] is not like me in real life; I’m like Jacob’s Native American side,” he explained. “I’m very friendly, outgoing, energetic and easy to talk to. But playing the werewolf side, where he’s holding all this anger and stuff inside him, that’d be very different for me. I love to challenge myself as an actor.”
Although some Twilighters have voiced concerns that Lautner isn’t big enough to portray Jacob in the other books, the actor promises he’ll be hitting the gym as soon as “New Moon” gets the green light.
“In the first one, he’s just regular and lanky and not crazy,” a determined Lautner explained. “But I’m sure after this one, I will be working out, eating my protein, and staying away from the ice cream and the sugar.”
As for the look of the transformed werewolves, he said: “I’ve been curious about that; I’m sure I’ll hear about it before I leave, but I haven’t heard anything yet…I’m curious to see what that’s going to look like.”
Alright, Twilighters, now that you’ve heard Taylor talk about his character, this week’s Twilight Tuesday is an obvious one: Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Switzerland?

I LOVE JACOB!
I don't have anything against Edward, there is such a thing as too much perfection. Although he is still scrumptious.
So on a side note, didn't taylor also play sharkboy in that awful 3D movie? He must have a thing for animals....
xo
Thank you Larry
Team Edward, enough said.
i do adore BOTH Jacob and Edward, its just that like Bella - i cant help who im in love with (Edward!)
That's not Team Switzerland, huh... well, I guess I'm Team Jacob! :D
He's one of the most down-to-earth characters in the book and he's the type of person you might see in real life, whereas Edward is something that probably only exists in fantasy. Yes, Edward has the sex-appeal and mystery about him, but I think i would personally be more happy with Jacob. That and I got a thing for the tall, dark and handome types. ;)
I admit that I do like Jacob, but he needs his own girl! Bella is Edward's and always will be!!
I'm sure Jacob will find a girl he will imprint on and be perfect for, so everyone ends up happy :)
Okay, I got it.
I'm Team Edward when it comes to who I'd rather be with, and who Bella should (and will?) be with forever. But I don't hate Jacob. In fact, I love him very much. They're both amazing :]
So I won't pick. I love 'em both.
:D
I may also be Team Jacob because I think that, narratively, it would be an incredibly weak ending if Bella became a vampire and went off to live with the Cullens forever. If the books are about choices, then I think Bella should make the right choice, which is not to abandon her friends and family who love her for a boy.
The optimum ending is that most of the Cullens die, except for... um... Jasper, who walks off into the fog. Bella and Jacob move to Phoenix and start a motorcycle repair shop. There would be an epilogue where their kid gets into some trouble and is rescued by someone who looks a lot like Edward. That would be fantastic.
Both Edward and Jacob (and Rob + Taylor :P) are amazing ! ♥
Okay...Jacob. He is just all around the better guy.
I'm team Edward all the way, but i pity Jacob since he loves Bella so much and she chose his enemy, i know how it feels to have someone you hate get something (or in Jacob's case some one) you really want and because of that, I sort of feel Jacob's pain. but not to that extent of course.
Edward or Jacob? That is the question.
Since I'm a romantic, I don't even need to think a second thought before blurting out Edward. He is way more my type.
And I don't mean the insanely beautiful, voice-like-velvet bit (although those are nice perks, I must say). It's what he does. The way he loves Bella, and the way it's apparent in everything he does, that's why I'm on team Edward.
The actual arguing over whether Edward or Jacob is better usually goes like this:
Jacob fans: EDWARD LEFT!
Edward fans: IT WAS FOR BELLA!
Jacob fans: WHO CARES? HE BROKE HER HEART!
Edward fans: ... WE care. Duh. And Jake isn't a saint. He was deliberately making it harder for her, when he knew she'd pick Edward in the end!
Jacob fans: IT WAS WORTH A SHOT!!!
Edward fans: ...no, it wasn't. Not at all.
And then the Jacob fans start up with the EDWARD LEFT's again and it goes on and on and on...
But yes.
TEAM EDWARD FOR THE WIN!!!!
What can I say? I've got a thing for both vampire and werewolf.
;]
the first few times through the books, i was all the way team Edward, but now after (insert number probably over 10) times all the way through, and after flipping back and forth many times, i've decided i would just have both!
Edward is the sensual, slow to change but oh so sexy one, and Jacob is the joking, easy and sometimes moody and naive one.
(But that doesn't mean I don't love Rob) ;)
taylor lautner being amazingly hot and robert pattinson not looking like the edward i imagined or not, jacob is a total ass in eclipse.

As for the interview, I think Taylor Lautner is adorable. I absolutely LOVE his smile, and that's exactly what I think would be most appealing about Jacob...That BIG grin of his!
Please keep the great interviews coming! We all love them!
