She can go from saccharine to salty in the span of a few seconds, but former MTV Movie Awards host Sarah Silverman has nothing but good things to say about new host Mike Myers. No, really.

“He’s going to be great,” the world’s funniest woman told MTV News of Myers, who is hosting the irreverent awards show for the second time.

Silverman, of course, drew high praise for her wickedly mean-spirited — and totally hilarious — opening monologue, in which she riffed on everyone from Jack Nicholson to Paris Hilton. Too much work, the comedienne declared.

“I had a great time last year, but I’m happy to sit back and watch Mike this year,” she said.

She’ll get a chance to sit back and relax soon enough. Before then, though, Silverman is performing Friday night at Columbia University in New York for Project A.L.S., whose mission is to find a cure for the illness most commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
