Recently, the news broke that Jonah Hill won’t be rolling out in “Transformers 2” after all. It’s sad, sad news for movie fans hoping the sequel would get a legitimate comedic-sidekick injection rather than, say, filling the role with Dax Shepard.
According to series producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the movie has had to move on without the “Superbad” star – but we can still expect some big announcements over the next several weeks.
“No, no,” he said of Hill’s reported casting. “Ultimately, we’ll have a couple casting surprises for everybody soon.”
Director Michael Bay and returning stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Jon Voight are reportedly on board to return, and Bonaventura confirmed plans to start shooting the movie in Philadelphia and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania next month.
“Michael’s got some really great stuff planned,” he added.
The super-producer, who we caught up with this week on the Downey, CA set of his equally massive blockbuster franchise “G.I. Joe,” also shot down rumors that Bay would finally create a long-rumored character. “A transforming aircraft carrier?” Bonaventura repeated, denying its existence. “We saw a Japanese film that had something like that, so maybe that’s where that comes from.”
“We never really talked about that, practically speaking,” he said of the character who might or might not have been known as Broadside, and who Bay has said was simply too expensive to create. “There was some Japanese animated movie we saw where that occurred, and we were like ‘Wow! Look at that thing!’”

honestly it doesn’t matter what they do and what rumors circulate the web i will still be excited for the sequel. the first one really was one of the most entertaining and fun films to come out in 2008.

Broadside would be good, Springer, Blitzwing and Astrotrsin wouldn’t be bad either. I wouldn’t mind seeing Omega Supreme or Sky Lynx in addition to the Dinobots Constructicons or other combiner teams. Maybe Jetfire(Skyfire), Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus or Scourge. Too many to list.

Broadside be good, also Springer, Blitzwing and Astrotrain. Sixshot would be better. Constructicons or other combiners, Dinobots, Omega Supreme, Sky Lynx, Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Cyclonus and Scourge.

I think Broadside would be a great character to add to Transformers 2. I would like to see the dinobots, constructicons, Soundwave, Blaster and the protectobots (form Defensor).

I don’t think that Dinobots could be apear in the next movies…Bay should be stay with the ‘vehicle’bot…makes more sense…

I may well be in the minority, but I am so very happy to hear that Hill will not be in this movie! Although there was plenty of sexual innuendo in the first movie, it was subtle and done with a modicum of taste. The last thing I would want to sit through would be a movie containing the same type of tacky, low-brow sexual humor Hill’s movies are known for (”Superbad”, anyone?). I look forward to seeing LaBeouf, Fox, and Voight reprising their roles!
On the robot side of things, I would love to see the Constructicons and the Dinobots! Also, if the first movie taught the producers one thing…it’s that the fans want their beloved character’s original voice actors! Bring in Gregg Berger to reprise his role as Grimlock, and Michael Bell to voice both Swoop and Scrapper.
I would hate to see a good movie turned into a crappy one, ala Spider-Man 3, and X3 (which I shall forever refer to as “The Murder and ?%## of Cyclops and Phoenix”), by cramming TOO MUCH into one film, reducing it to a mindless action-fest!

If you are going to include more characters from the G1 cartoon, please, please stay away from Season 3 characters. I may, or may not, be the only person to think this, but those characters were no good compared to the seasons 1 and 2 characters. Inferno would be a good idea, however he would be either as tall as, or taller, than Optimus Prime, so I’m not sure how that would work. The same goes with Warpath, him being a personal favourite, but he always was stocky, so he could be rather wide too. Scrapper too, he was great in the old series, his voice especially. If he gets included, I just hope he keeps that faceplate of his. He’s not Scrapper without a faceplate.

Never mind the post movie character’s. . .they stunk. . .keep it simple since Bay likes to work with the military. . .he has to place the arialbots in it he’d get a kick out of a mid air scene with them transforming into Superion. . .and at that Bruticus nothing better then some bad ass military gesault team. But no Galvatron. . .just give megatron an earth form if the cube can go from that big ol thing to fitting into sam’s hands . . .surley he can make Meagtron a P-38 Pistol . . .Speaking for all of us fans that would be awesome!

please no dinobots that will just make the movie stupid. because if you notice they had to scan the object to become it. so what they gonna go to a museam or how ever u spell it but you get my point so no no dinobots please.

Dinobots would be awessome!! They could crash where they have those robotic dinos in universal studios and scan those. Or even at an abandoned theme park where they are in storage!! That would def be awesome. Or even if those bots were here when dino were around and scanned oganic forms and took those forms and created a mech form so that they could fit in and observe life. The dinobots could have been brillinat scientists there were here to explore but when they scanned and transformed an unforseen problem occured they scanned organic they took on the intellect of those dinos so me grimlock got dumb. LOL just a thought from a trans fan maniac!!!

I bet we will see Galvatron in this next installment, I also hope we see the Aerialbots and destructacons. If I had my way I would introduce Galvatron as Megatron’s succesor and see Ultramagnis show up as responding to Prime’s signal he sent out to all Autobots at the end of the movie.

If I could have my way, Megatron would return as Galvatron, then Optimus has a near-death experience against Galvatron, then as Ratchet struggles to repair him, Unicron appears! Also with: The Dinobots, Cyclonus (upgraded Blackout), Scourge (upgraded Barricade), Demolisher (upgraded Brawl), Ultra Magnus (NOT an Optimus recoulor!!!!), Hot Rod. At the end, Optimus returns and uses the Matrix of Leadership to destroy Unicron.

Leave Megs dead 4 now. Split the Decepticons. Shockwave and Starscream as the leaders. Definitely Grimlock but not dumb and as a Haulpack. Unicron a must.
