Like Edward Cullen eyeballing a deer in the middle of the woods, you can be forgiven if you drool a bit while looking at the first official “Twilight” poster. It’s an MTV exclusive, it’s a thing of beauty, and it was photographed by 18-year-old wunderkind Joey Lawrence.
You can read our interview with Joey over on the MTV Movies page, but here’s an extra-juicy bit of news: Lawrence has signed on to shoot all the posters for “Twilight.” When I was on the set recently, virtually everyone I spoke with brought up plans for sequels, and if those dreams come true Joey would likely return as well. (Click the poster for the high-rez version!)
“Yeah,” he told us recently, swinging by our Santa Monica offices. “I’ll be doing all the next movies.”
Lawrence knew that the first poster had to focus on the key relationship of Edward and Bella, and said he’d like to keep the subsequent images focused on the characters and their couplings.
“I think they’ll probably be keeping the mood pretty dark and edgy still,” he said of his plan. “I’ve read the first script, and I know what happens in the next books just from talking to the actors, so the mood might change a little bit, but the style will stay the same.”
Lawrence also revealed that he’s been meeting with “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, so that they can synchronize their overall plan.
“I think it’s going to be interesting with her,” insisted Lawrence, who hopes to become a director himself someday. “When I read the script, I realized this is not her kind of movie. Because she’s done like ‘Lords of Dogtown’ and ‘Thirteen,’ so when I read the script I was kind of like, ‘That’s a vampire movie,’ but then to find out that she was doing something with it, I think it’s going to be different than just a normal kind of teenage love story. I think it might be interesting to see.”
We’d expect nothing less, right Twilighters? I want to read the thoughts of each and every one of you (and believe me, we all do!), so here’s your TT question of the week: Is the poster, better, worse, or exactly as you imagined? What, if anything, would you have done differently than Joey?

What a talent!! Its absolutely gorgeous!!
Kristen looks vulnerable and soft, which is how I imagined Bella to look like in the first book.
I also love that even though Bella's in the middle (central character), our main focus is on Edward because his unearthlyness just sucks our attention away (haha, no pun intended. ;D)
Wonderful job!
thanks for the awesome updates ... I don't know if i could survive without twilight tuesdays :):)
Hyperventilating...!
I mean, its not quite what I imagined, but its still realllyreally epicly amazing!!..Its pretty original, and I CANT WAIT until posters come out so I can buy them alll!!eeeeek!!!
aieeeee!
the posteer is awesome
what happend to bellaa!
focus on bella too! not only on edward!
Comee on!
she's the hottie here! (Kristen Stewart
You can see the love there, and the ultimate protection vibe.
plus the fact that Edward is gorgeous
although, for some reason I also think they seem a bit distant compared to the ammount of love expressed in the book.
I think if they had been holding hands in the picture, and not changing anything else, could have embraced that a little more
but other than that, it’s perfect and I see a story and love and emotion.
GOOD JOB! and thank you for doing good work.
I love the quote being used frequently - "When you can live forever, what do you live for?"
I hope the two posters we have seen will be available to purchase in the future.
Another informative interview Mr MTV Larry and Yes, you are Ubber-Cool in my book
Look forward to Next Twilight Tuesday!!!
It's not at all how i imagined it I thought that it would maybe include the apple (I love the whole apple thing=P)
The only thing that could be better is if maybe we got a little MORE of Roberts face to drool over =P
Luving all twilighters for life xx
bella is perfect on that picture. she looks now like i see her in my head when i read the book :-) and you can feel how she feels.
her hair is perfect and how she holds her hand on edwards breast (i don't know if it's what i mean), perfect!! in the picture is all their love and the distance to see.
but... just because i love robert so much he should have been a little bit more into the poster
fabulous other wise
great job!
It was amazing! I am very impressed that there was a trailer so soon. :) Well done and thank you so much for those who were in charge of that!
Car Crash and deer hunting scences look fantastic! And that smile of Robert Patison's just before he flung Kristen Steward over his shoulder made me swoon.
Well done for him and the acting skills, but personlay, i thought his voice was annoying, but then again that probably is personal taste and is not like that can be changed.
altogether amazing and bettert han what i expected!
thank you so much!
but yea. pretty much perfect. :) theyve captured adward perfectly. rob's looming over kristen like he's protecting her, but also quite menacingly. you can see how powerful he is and how vunerable bella is.
I think it's PERFECT.
I always say that nothing's perfect, so i was expecting less.
I was wrong.
WELL DOME.
i live in australia so i get all the gossip a little late, plus i have to wait longer for the movie release but these twilight tuesdays are all that are keeping me going...o and the fantastic lexicon of course!
The poster was great! the only thing i found a little off was that rob/edward looked like he was bent (kinda like a banana) and he appeared as if he was going to loose balance and fall at any moment. basically he lookd a little akward, but beside thati loved it and it was everything i imagined it to be!
i can't wait to see another one!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LARRY!! :D
but I think this is not a good picture of Bella. :(
BUT
it is still amazing!
intimidating!

10/10 5 star.
It's awesome how a young photographer took this great picture!
I love their expressions, even though it's not as quite as I had imagined.
Plus, I was expecting a BIT more intense mood. For example, staring at each other's eyes.
but overall, it's GREAT
The poster is beautiful, its really really well done, you can read their emotions in this poster!
I'm happy and looking forward to a 'World Wide Premiere' now! =)
*that's all that comes out of my mouth when I look at this poster.
This kid has talent. I've been following him since he was about 15-16 when I first saw some of his photography on a website we both were on. He's got amazing talent.
He did a 5 minute video in back in 2005 that blew me away. Just NOT what you expected from a 15 yr old. I knew he was going to be successful. One day, I expect him to be filming with the likes Quentin Tarantino some day.
"You go Joey!"

I really hope the movie is also coming out in Holland. There are a lot of friends here! Please don't forget our (strange) little country...
Kristen looks perfect: sweet and yet not stunning, very well captured in this poster! Good!
kristen looks really beautiful too. honestly...waiting for december is agony.
