Like Edward Cullen eyeballing a deer in the middle of the woods, you can be forgiven if you drool a bit while looking at the first official “Twilight” poster. It’s an MTV exclusive, it’s a thing of beauty, and it was photographed by 18-year-old wunderkind Joey Lawrence.
You can read our interview with Joey over on the MTV Movies page, but here’s an extra-juicy bit of news: Lawrence has signed on to shoot all the posters for “Twilight.” When I was on the set recently, virtually everyone I spoke with brought up plans for sequels, and if those dreams come true Joey would likely return as well. “Yeah,” he told us recently, swinging by our Santa Monica offices. “I’ll be doing all the next movies.”
Lawrence knew that the first poster had to focus on the key relationship of Edward and Bella, and said he’d like to keep the subsequent images focused on the characters and their couplings.
“I think they’ll probably be keeping the mood pretty dark and edgy still,” he said of his plan. “I’ve read the first script, and I know what happens in the next books just from talking to the actors, so the mood might change a little bit, but the style will stay the same.”
Lawrence also revealed that he’s been meeting with “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, so that they can synchronize their overall plan.
“I think it’s going to be interesting with her,” insisted Lawrence, who hopes to become a director himself someday. “When I read the script, I realized this is not her kind of movie. Because she’s done like ‘Lords of Dogtown’ and ‘Thirteen,’ so when I read the script I was kind of like, ‘That’s a vampire movie,’ but then to find out that she was doing something with it, I think it’s going to be different than just a normal kind of teenage love story. I think it might be interesting to see.”

it really shows their realtionship beautifuly and how it kinda looks fakeish is actually really pretty and their eyes r absolutley STUNNING! the color is PERFECT! I cant wait to see it hanging up in my movie theater dont change a thing!

Wow, i realy didnt like the acter that is playing edward but now, i can see it, i realy like it. i dont realy think that i would have done much diff., but i just want the movie to come out already. it seams like it is takeing for ever for dec. 12th to come. i have read this book 13 times, so they better get it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, I never actually pictured a movie poster. And this one looks fabulous! I love how Edward looks so protective over Bella and how her face is half in the shadows. But I do wish they were looking at each other. It’s still amazing though! Great Job! I can’t wait to see more!

Ok. Edward looks like he’s about to fall over. I love the way his eyes look though… But they so should have been looking at each other. Otherwise it looks funny. He should also be holding her like he does when he carries her. I also think Alice and Charlie should be in the photo… But that’s just me. Maybe Charlie glaring at Edward and Alice looking happy and excited… And there should be a shadow of a ring. Like the wedding ring! But you can’t see the ring. And if you make a movie of New Moon you should see a piece of the ring. And for eclipse you should see the ring around them.

I think it’s pretty awesome, but it looks sort of like they’re not really connected (like photoshop)…and it kind of looks like Edward is hunching over her instead of holding her or something like that.

I wasn’t sure Rob or Kristen could pull this off - they aren’t what I picture in my mind - but the poster is amazing. Rob does look like Edward and Kristen is lovely as Bella. I’m already excited about the movie, but this makes my blood boil even more. Can’t wait…

This is great, but I think it would have been even better if Bella was the one looking down and Edward was looking out, so he looks more like he’s watching over her instead of looking past her.

This is such a great poster!
but i do kinda wish that edward was looking at the camera, or bella, instead of just staring into space. i think it would show more of their relationship/love.

The color of his eyes is a little off… too red for me. I think they should be a little more yellow.
I wish they were looking at each other to show their love. I also don’t like the angle. It looks like two images put together because he’s standing at such a weird angle.

This is SO cool!!!
Hmm… I’m not to sure if I like it as much as I was hoping for. Some comments mention how it looks very photoshop-ish, and I think I agree with that opinion. I think they should’ve been next to each other instead, or at least looking at each other. The thing how Edward’s looming over her is a little creepy, and that hand on his chest. I think the meadow scene would’ve been really cool, and not so close up.
But it’s still AWESOME!!!!! that they were already thinking about sequels… I’m Pro-Jacob, so I can’t wait to see him on a cover or two!

i like the way both acotrs look and th lighting, but i thin k the biggest flaw of this photo is that THEY ARE LOOKING AWAY FROM EACH OTHER! in actuality, bella and edwards relationship has them both completely absorbed in the other, and i think they could have captured that more.

I love love love love the way Edward looks so protective of Bella. Even though i don’t usually go see a movie after i have read the book(cause in all honesty it usually sucks) i am counting down the days for this movie(214 left). It may be strange that i am counting the days but i don’t care!!! My friends tell me to get a life and i tell them the twilight series is my life! I also can not wait until the fourth book comes out(82 days) I really want to know what charlie and Renee think of Bella marrying fresh out of High school like they did. I kind of hope that charlie will get mad then shot Edward and be like, “dude why aren’t you dead?” (edward) “Im am a vampire…hehehehehe. Bella didn’t tell you? oopps?” lol. But what im really curious about is who is going to be the enemy i mean the first book it was james and victoria second it was victoria tracking and the Volturi knowing then the third victoria and the volturi showin up! Who’s next? Also will bella ever see Jacob again???

Hmmm as I clicked on the link to see the poster I wasn’t sure what to expect. As soon as the page open I thought I was going to pass out. I can’t wait for the movie! This doesn’t help! I was talking to my guy friend and I’m dragging him to the movie so I can be there at midnight! He actually wants to see it too! The book is addicting so maybe the movie will be just as addicting… But the movie poster… I’m going to but the actual movie poster after Twilight leave theaters so I can have the real one hanging in my room!!! It is absolutly

It’s excellent, only a few things bug me.
I’m a canadian design student. I LOVE the angle of Edward its very compelling, and I love the word mark for “twilight”. it’s awesome.it’s just bella is too centered. and her face :/ dont get me wrong it’s a wonderful image, but i think she should be looking at him, keeping an upward motion to the pic. I just want to focus on her face and nothing else, and the date at the bottom is a bit too small.( lol it’s not like we dont have the release date memorized already tho eh?
) oh and edward should be looking at her… it dont “feel the love” and I mean they are supposed to love each other right? there should be more attraction between them.
also cootos for NOT using something witht eh book image. when i was thinking about what it would look like i thought the poster would be very generic twilight, with an image related to the book cover, but its not.good stuff!!!!

This is the WAY better than i could image. It’s soo beautiful and it fits the story perfectly. I love it so much, I have it hanging all over my room. I totally fell inlove with this picture..but mostly about how cute robert pattinson and kristin stewart look together. I LOVE IT! im sooo excited for the movie i can never stop thinking about it..

this is by far the best poster I have seen … I mean there are a heck of a lot of fan made ones out there .. but this tops them all.
I can not wait for the movie to come out and I seriously have watched the trailer over a hundred of times … it never gets old.

i think it’s great…but i do have to agree with some of the others about Edward…i think they should be looking at each other…kirsten’s face looks amazing, but i think it would show the intensity of their love if they were looking at each other…and i don’t think that this photo does rob any justice…the eyes are great but a lot of his face is hidden…his face is the most beautiful thing that bella’s ever seen…u know what i mean?

I do like it, but Edward looks a bit funny… he’s sorta just pale and gross, not vampirish. Bella (Kirsten) is stunning - so beautiful, but a bit kiddish. I love it, but pick out the faults at the same time…
