“Go, Speed Racer, Go” has become part of the pop culture consciousness, so it’s only natural that fans of the beloved cartoon are going to be very protective as the Wachowski’s prep their big-budget Hollywood adaptation.
So that said, to the “Speed Racer” following: we want to know what you think the movie HAS to have to make it even remotely worthwhile to you. Whether it’s keeping Chim-Chim in perfect proportion or an inside joke only true fans would get, we want to hear it all.
So chime in. We’ll be posing the best directly to the cast and maybe even put your comment on TV! Speak your mind below.

The key factor for the success of this film is the super fast driving scenes combined with explosive action and a nice mix of music. I think that the film looks great so far and is on point with meeting the needs of super fans and others.

The most important thing for this movie to have is the shot from the intro, where he jumps out of the car and they pan the camera around…..bullet time from the 70s is awesome.

This movie NEEDS to be true to the exasperated, focused, bad-ass facial expressions of the cartoon Speed Racer. It also must incorporate all the same camera shots of the show, the same angles used, mostly for Speed in his car and jumping out, like what vaterite said. The people who didn’t watch the show won’t even notice, they’ll just think it’s the movie being great. But the people who are die hard, grew-up-with-and-had-a-cartoon-crush-on-Speed-Racer, watched-every-day-after-school fans will think that this is the BEST MOVIE EVER and will tell everyone they know (and their brothers) and the word will spread and the world will love this movie so much that they’ll finally realize the best way to settle differences between countries is with car racing. I wonder if Speed will gasp like he did in the cartoon? “ohh-ohhh-ohhhh!” heee!
