EXCLUSIVE: New ‘Twilight’ Footage Goes Behind The Scenes, Fulfills Dreams

Our friends at Summit Entertainment premiered a mind-blowing new “Twilight” clip for the lucky crowds at New York’s Comic-Con this weekend, featuring that quote from a set-visiting Stephenie Meyer. Quite frankly, we’re inclined to agree.

Now, we’re passing the clip on to you, along with a warning: For all of you who’ve memorized every line of the novels, hungered for each tidbit of info you can find on our site, and cursed every month between now and December, please make sure you’re sitting down as you press play. The tasty video tidbit yet begins with footage of Jackson Rathbone swinging a baseball bat, and leads into several others shots from the beloved baseball scene. Not only do you get a look at the uniforms that clad the Cullens, but you also get a quick peek at a showdown that looks half Rugby-scrum, half Jets vs. Sharks-like rumble.

Feel free to indulge in your shrieking as you glimpse Edward kissing Bella’s head in the hospital, giving her the “I want to kill you/no I don’t” stare in Biology class, and getting ready to give her a piggyback up a tree with the warning “You’d better hold on tight, spider-monkey!” OMG, Robert just spoke without his accent! And, could this be the beginning of the notorious “treetops” scene)?

Giving us what might be an early peek at the film’s marketing campaign, we get the tagline “When you can live forever, what do you die for?” and uber-cool trading cards introducing Bella, Edward, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, Esme, Alice, Emmett, Rosalie and…wait for it…The Nomads!

Try not to give your computer a meltdown with all the pause-play-pause you’ll use to glimpse at footage like the wire work, the vampires using movie magic to walk quickly towards the camera, what looks to be a Slip ‘n Slide, some poor dude getting his head ripped off, and a sweet preview of Bella’s scream.

“Not one shot is easy,” grins director Catherine Hardwicke in the clip. “I love it. Welcome to Twilight!”

Now that I have viewed the clip….well I lost count. I kept pausing it a few times to really catch everything in there. There is so much you miss just watching it regular speed. This is almost better than a trailer! OH the music alone is thrilling....
I have my wits about me and have gathered my thoughts for my second comment posting.

*“Mind Blowing” is putting it mildly.
*“Crash Helmet”, how about body armor *THUD*
*OME!! At the beginning when Kristen is yelling at the beginning..."No! Edward Don't!!"
* Edward kicking James across the Ballet studio, Great stuff.
*The Hospital scene; The forehead Kiss the face touch (I’m melting)
*You Better hold on Tight Spider Monkey…..Had to Laugh, that was unexpected, however thought he was kind of endearing.
*First time I've heard Roberts American accent....PERFECT!!!
*Nomads first glimpse of them together. WOW!!Loved the way they enter the scene.
*All the behind the scenes was amazing to see “how it’s done.”
*The crouching and snarling as they Vamped out. WOW! Goosebumps!
I don't think I can make it until December.
That was the coolest thing I've ever seen.

I am still hypervetiling. I watched that clip quite a bit and i know i will watch it again and again in following day. OMG. that was AMAZING. Edward and his acent is so, there aren't even words to describe it. I knnow that i will for sure be hyperventalting during the movie. They HAD better make them all or i'm gonna be extremly deperessed. Why does dec 12th have to be so FAR AWAY. it needs to be here NOW. Twilight owns my soul.

AAAHHHH!!! I WAS EXCITED AND SHAKIN' EVEN BEFORE I WATCHED IT! AND THEN AFTER...WELL, YOU CAN IMAGINE. After I was revived a couple times, I just have to say, this made my week...and everytime I think about it...which is about, uh, every moment...I can't help but let out a little scream of excitement! I was eating dinner and I just all of a sudden threw my hands into the air smiling and shouting Whoo-hoo!! HAHA.

Larry you are freaking awesome! I love you man! This is sweet. I don't usually freak out when this kind of stuff comes out but I have to admit that I was pretty much doing so all day. I had to keep myself in check while I was at work.lol I found myself having trouble staying away from the computers at work so I wouldn't watch the video again. lol Awesome work! I'm seriously freaking out!!! Seriously!! That was an amazing video clip and my breathing/ heart rate have yet to return to normal. I'm glad I took your advice and was sitting, or I might have just passed out for lack of breathing. I don't think I can even create a coherent sentence after that... I've watched it 10 times already and I'm still noticing new things each time. I LOVED it! December can't come soon enough. Thank you, Larry, for getting that from Summit. I'm relatively new to the Larry Fan Club, but I already want to run for president. I don't know what brought you into our lives, but you are really taking care of us! I could not be more pleased with EVERYTHING in that video. I was worried, no offense, that they might make Twilight all MTVed out and lose the feel of the novel, but no longer, my friend! Some things are way different than in the book, but I think they captured the general idea and feel of the characters as well as could be expected. (By the way, I can TOTALLY see Edward saying that spider-monkey line.)
