EXCLUSIVE: New ‘Twilight’ Footage Goes Behind The Scenes, Fulfills Dreams

Our friends at Summit Entertainment premiered a mind-blowing new “Twilight” clip for the lucky crowds at New York’s Comic-Con this weekend, featuring that quote from a set-visiting Stephenie Meyer. Quite frankly, we’re inclined to agree.

Now, we’re passing the clip on to you, along with a warning: For all of you who’ve memorized every line of the novels, hungered for each tidbit of info you can find on our site, and cursed every month between now and December, please make sure you’re sitting down as you press play. The tasty video tidbit yet begins with footage of Jackson Rathbone swinging a baseball bat, and leads into several others shots from the beloved baseball scene. Not only do you get a look at the uniforms that clad the Cullens, but you also get a quick peek at a showdown that looks half Rugby-scrum, half Jets vs. Sharks-like rumble.

Feel free to indulge in your shrieking as you glimpse Edward kissing Bella’s head in the hospital, giving her the “I want to kill you/no I don’t” stare in Biology class, and getting ready to give her a piggyback up a tree with the warning “You’d better hold on tight, spider-monkey!” OMG, Robert just spoke without his accent! And, could this be the beginning of the notorious “treetops” scene)?

Giving us what might be an early peek at the film’s marketing campaign, we get the tagline “When you can live forever, what do you die for?” and uber-cool trading cards introducing Bella, Edward, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, Esme, Alice, Emmett, Rosalie and…wait for it…The Nomads!

Try not to give your computer a meltdown with all the pause-play-pause you’ll use to glimpse at footage like the wire work, the vampires using movie magic to walk quickly towards the camera, what looks to be a Slip ‘n Slide, some poor dude getting his head ripped off, and a sweet preview of Bella’s scream.

“Not one shot is easy,” grins director Catherine Hardwicke in the clip. “I love it. Welcome to Twilight!”

That was an amazing video. I was left breathless! When Edward kissed Bella on the forehead in the hospital I though my heart was going to sprout wings and fly from my chest. I have to say my favorite part of the short video was when rob said sexily "You’d better hold on tight, spider-monkey." Now after seeing this clip I think the twilight movie will exceed my expectations. I look forward to seeing it when it hits theaters.

I love the whole Nomadic walk. I love how they show the vampires walking SUPER FAST. I mean my brother isn't into romance and vampires but when he saw that seen, he was like "wow, gotta see it." So, that tidbit was cool. I especially like the head being ripped off and Jasper saying "I love my job." Rachelle was supremeley awesome. Oh and the quote is actually "When you can live forever, what do you live for?" Not "die". Just thought I'd mention that. The video was DA SHYT. I frickin LOVED IT. And I love how S.M. started to talk about the movie and book. It's pretty cool. Usually authors end up hating how the movie turns out or "pretend" they like it. SO, S.M is on my cool list. But then again she already was for making Twilight. =]

everryyyyyyythingggggggggggggg they said in the 2nd paragraph was totally true-- i literally had an episode (a really bad one at that) and i passed out! i thought i was joking at first but i apparently really passed out after watching this

I would like Larry to ask Rob and Kristen what in the world they were referring to in an interview when Larry asked them if they shared any interests like movies and books. Kristen quickly replied saying,"Last Tango in Paris". Then Robert said something about basing their characters, Edward and Bella, on the characters from that sick and twisted movie. Do they know that Marlon Brando basically raped Maria Schneider in that movie. She (schneider) did not want to do that scene and that scene was not even in the script. Mr. Brando just thought it up in his own sick mind and they forced her to do it. I am asking this because I want to know if Rob and Kristen really think that these characters are anything like Bella and Edward. I am very disturbed by this comment, that they even saw this movie as a source to understand and research what Bella and Edward are really about. I know that it is not all about sex with Bella and Edward. They have much more in them than that. I hope that that was just a stupid, naive mistake by saying that.
Please Larry, confirm this for me. I cannot even think about it without getting totally upset. I am devastated by this comment from them.
I would like to be anonymous. Please address this for me, please. So I can watch the movie in peace and not be angry at those two actors. I want to enjoy the movie with all my heart.

OMG! This is absolutely FANTASTIC! Loved it. Lots of comments though. First of all, I love Robert when he says "You better hold on tight, spider monkey." Although it isn't in the book (and his sexy accent isn't there), it still sounds too cool. The tagline they have is great and I think the casting was done to perfection. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the head snapping scene. That looks just too cool. The only thing I don't understand is the scene with James, Victoria, and Laurent and why are they on a boat taunting and killing a guy??? I wasn't sure if I'd like Jackson as Jasper but I am glad to admit that I was wrong and I think he'll be great. So all in all, I think this is the best video yet! Thanks MTV and Larry!
