EXCLUSIVE: New ‘Twilight’ Footage Goes Behind The Scenes, Fulfills Dreams

Our friends at Summit Entertainment premiered a mind-blowing new “Twilight” clip for the lucky crowds at New York’s Comic-Con this weekend, featuring that quote from a set-visiting Stephenie Meyer. Quite frankly, we’re inclined to agree.

Now, we’re passing the clip on to you, along with a warning: For all of you who’ve memorized every line of the novels, hungered for each tidbit of info you can find on our site, and cursed every month between now and December, please make sure you’re sitting down as you press play. The tasty video tidbit yet begins with footage of Jackson Rathbone swinging a baseball bat, and leads into several others shots from the beloved baseball scene. Not only do you get a look at the uniforms that clad the Cullens, but you also get a quick peek at a showdown that looks half Rugby-scrum, half Jets vs. Sharks-like rumble.

Feel free to indulge in your shrieking as you glimpse Edward kissing Bella’s head in the hospital, giving her the “I want to kill you/no I don’t” stare in Biology class, and getting ready to give her a piggyback up a tree with the warning “You’d better hold on tight, spider-monkey!” OMG, Robert just spoke without his accent! And, could this be the beginning of the notorious “treetops” scene)?

Giving us what might be an early peek at the film’s marketing campaign, we get the tagline “When you can live forever, what do you die for?” and uber-cool trading cards introducing Bella, Edward, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, Esme, Alice, Emmett, Rosalie and…wait for it…The Nomads!

Try not to give your computer a meltdown with all the pause-play-pause you’ll use to glimpse at footage like the wire work, the vampires using movie magic to walk quickly towards the camera, what looks to be a Slip ‘n Slide, some poor dude getting his head ripped off, and a sweet preview of Bella’s scream.

“Not one shot is easy,” grins director Catherine Hardwicke in the clip. “I love it. Welcome to Twilight!”

I have watched this clip at least 10 times already and to say I am excited about this movie is an understatement.

The only thing that I seen wrong was when they were telling us who is playing which character and they said that Jasper and Rosalie's last name was Cullen not Hale. But that was probably just a mistake in the clip not the actual movie so I am not worried about it. I am still counting the days until Dec. 12th.!!

I can't help but hyperventilating.
It looks amazing!
The characters are incredible, Bella's scream gives you a great kick of adrenalin and it all seems very suspenseful.
And the music is wunderful, too
The first shot is my favourite. James is much more menacing than I thought he was.
But the hospital scene's also impressive.
This film is going to be really cool!

I didn't plan to go see this movie because I didn't want the Twilight world in my mind to be changed, but I have to admit that I am getting sucked into the possibility fast and it's clips like these that are doing it.

I have to agree that the "spider-monkey" line seemed extremely lame--even the voice that Rob is using while delivering that line doesn't sound right. I almost get the feeling he doesn't believe in that line either. I'm praying that ends up on the cutting room floor because everything else looks fabulous.

Kristen's comment about Bella almost "liking" the fact that Edward wants to kill her sounds a little off though. I would agree that Bella is so profoundly attached to Edward that she can completely see beyond his dark side to his inherent goodness. I wonder if Kristen just couldn't quite get the words right or if she really sees Bella's character being thrilled by the possiblity that he could kill her at any moment. Larry...if you have the chance to ask her... :)

The clip was awesome, but one thing Jackson Rathbone says was that he has the ability to calm. Technically thats true, but he really has dominion over all emotions. Jasper can manipulate all emotions not just to calm you! Soorry for my obsessiveness!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel predictable after reading the article? I did just everything listed by the uber-twilighters-expert Larry, from screaming my head off and giving my computer a melt-down to the pause-play-pausing^^ Uh, yeah, and of course, the usual hyperventilation, due to the Bella & Edward- Scenes( It's a good thing I DID sit down before watching^^)and now feeling obligated to give my zillion thumbs-up to this amazing video!!!
