New ‘Dark Knight’ Trailer Screened To Jubilant Fans At NY Comic Con

Heath Ledger as the Joker in ''The Dark Knight'Batman has more to deal with than just the Joker in this summer’s “The Dark Knight,” and now thanks to a top secret new trailer for the film that just screened at NY Comic Con, we’ve gotten our first extended look at his friend and eventual rival, Harvey “Two-Face” Dent.

The brand-new “Dark Knight” trailer was shown to a flabbergasted audience here in New York (Warner Bros. had not announced any plans to show any footage) and though we only got a chance to see it once, there’s an awful lot to chew on in this new glimpse.

- After a breathtaking shot of Batman perched high above Gotham, a voiceover from Heath Ledger’s Joker asks “Where do we begin?” Batman glides through the city.

- “Kill the Batman,” the Joker states to an adjoined meeting of mob bosses, before an explosion is shown and the subsequent showing of a Joker card. This seemingly gels with the suspicion that the Joker is controlling the mob through ransom (after robbing the mob-run bank in the IMAX preview).

- After several shots of Harvey Dent in District Attorney mode, we finally get everyone together as the Joker invades a fancy bash with Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), Alfred (Michael Caine), Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal). Sadly, the scene wasn’t topped off by the Penguin crashing through the floor on a giant duck.

- “The dawn is coming” says Dent in a voiceover.

- The Joker mutters “Here we go” before walking down a city street blowing stuff up in one particularly awesome scene.

- In one of the most foreboding moments of the trailer, Dent emphatically states “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Harvey Dent, of course, backwardly referencing his future transformation into super-villain “Two-Face.”

- Our eyes may have been playing tricks on us, but it certainly looked like the Joker drops Dawes at some point. The length of said drop is uncertain.

We’ll all know more when the trailer officially hits in two weeks. The clock starts now.

  5. Any Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince teaser ?
  6. holy %%#@, so psyched. as UNFORTUNATE as it was, the loss of heath ledger will only catapault the success of "dark knight". god, i can't wait to see this! third film's called "shadow of the bat", supposedly due out in 2011
  7. David Clarke, Nolan hasnt let decided whether there will be a third film or not, so they most definitly dont have a title for yet. Dont post b.s.
  8. taiga_with_a_pen - Nolan and Bale are under a contract for three films.
  9. taiga_with_a_pen is write, don't post your BS fan theories as though they are fact, there is no way there is a title set in stone for the next one. Although I thought Nolan was pretty set on a third.
  10. if there is a third movie i heard it was gonna be called GOTHAM
  11. This is (going to be) the coolest thing I have ever seen...
  12. This is gonna be so f'ing awesome.
  13. Why do people always have their "my friend told me that he heard from his uncle that the third batman movie is going to be called 'revenge of the fruit bat'" crap? or there "this is the last one" crap? There is absolutely no way that the title would be decided before post-production is even finished on TDK, and anyone who actually follows the franchise knows that all the major players were signed to three picture deals. Here's a good rule of thumb...if it doesn't make sense, it probably isn't true.
  14. I can't wait till this movie comes out!! I hope somebody posts this trailer on YouTube because I wanna see it, ha ha!

  18. Just curious, did anyone notice the combined Batman/Superman symbol in the back drop during the I Am Legend movie?? Also, considering that the Joker doesn't die in this movie.....at least he'd better not.....I wonder.....who would they get to play him in another movie??? Any thoughts?

  21. Why the h3ll would they have the Joker in the 3rd batman movie? Batman has enough foes that each film can have its own villain...Hasn't history shown us the more than 1 villain messes things up-Batman Returns anyone??????????
  22. this movie does not excite me and its not going to make alot of money juss bcuz of heat ledger's death hes not dat popular u kno. prolli his fans go c his last performance i mean come on if sombody like will smith died alot of ppl will go c his movie cuz hes more popular and he does good at the box office the only way this movie will do well is if it has a good word of mouth and it will take a good special effect
movie with alot of action to break spidey 3 openning record and by the way batman isnt popular like spiderman and im not a hater of batman its juss that what ppl are saying that it will make 200 million dollar in the first weekend i mean com on really be real now my prediction for this movie will be around 230 mil+
  23. For those of us who speak normal english, and not JIVE, ricki meant to say:

This movie does not excite me, and it's not going to make a lot of money jusT BECAUSE of heatH ledger’s death. He's not THat popular, YOu knoW. HIS FANS WILL PROBABLY go SEE his last performance. I mean, come on! If sombody like Will Smith died, a lot of PEOPLE wOUlD go SEE his movie BECAUSE he's more popular, and he does WELL at the box office. The only way this movie will do well is if it has good word of mouth and it will ALSO take good special effectS.

Also, because Will Smith is more popular, you actually think that 'HANCOCK' (his 2008 movie) will do better at the box office than The Dark Knight? You, sir, are clearly whacked out of your F'n mind!
  24. well i dont care i no this movie will hit and hit hard. i like jack nick. verson but this new joker awwman hes more darker more phycotic and if joker was real thats exactly how he would be.
