Whatever else negative you can say about Uwe Boll, one thing you can’t criticize him on is his strong love for video games. I mean, there may be over 200,000 signatures on an online petition asking that he stop making movies, but he clearly loves the gamer market, and at least goes into each project hoping to make good films for that fanboy community.
Right? Right?!?
“You go for it, to please the game fans, but on the other hand if you have the hard core gamers, they live in their own world. And you cannot fulfill their ideas from a video game based movie, it’s impossible,” Boll recently told MTV News. “And to be honest, the real gamers are the typical download guys, right? They don’t pay anything for movies, because they illegally download the movies. So why I should please these guys? I need the normal audience.”
That’s the Uwe Boll I know and love – the Uwe Boll who’ll criticize even his most ardent followers. God bless you, sir.
But if you’re not going to make a faithful adaptation, why make an adaptation at all? Apparently, the folks over at Blizzard wonder the same thing, since they practically laughed Boll out of their offices when he approached them about making a World of Warcraft adaptation, the director confessed.
“I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, ‘We will not sell the movie rights, not to you…especially not to you,’” Boll revealed. “Because it’s such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it.”
A bad movie! He called his hypothetical adaptation bad. Awesome.
What do you think? Could Uwe Boll have made a decent WOW flick? Come to think of it, what would a WOW flick even be about? Sound off below.

What I want to say is, as a Chinese WoWer, I have to say some of Chinese “WoW Like” games should be adapted into movies. And I’m in favour of inviting Uwe to do this job.

Uwe Boll. And I always thought that Paris Hilton was an egotistic whore, but this fuck?.
Uwe, here’s some advice and I truly hope you take it.
Step 1: Buy a gun
Step 2: Put in a full cartridge
Step 3: Put it in your mouth with the end facing your brain
Step 4: Pull the trigger
Step 5: Die
Seriously, no one gives a $#%% about you. The only reason I can tell that people will arrive at your funeral is to spit on your grave.

The perfect WoW movie would begin with the protagonist starting weak, as normal, and gathering to him a party of heroes. He would traverse the world of Azeroth on a quest for the powers and items necessary to defeat the antagonist of the movie. There would be short arcs dedicated to mastering different skills, some Horde fights (it would be an Alliance-centric movie, they’re the pretty ones, remember), and even a training montage.
When he finally got to the antagonist’s lair and fought his way in, he and his faithful companions would fight with all their might and spirit to defeat the antagonist and save the world…
…and ultimately be defeated.
As he alone is backed into a corner and asked if he has any last words, the antagonists Fel-charged blade raised high above his head, the protagonist lifts his weary, wounded head and rasps out only a few words:
“Yeah. F**k this s**t, I’m gonna get on my seventy and own you.”
The protagonist would then disappear, reappear as an appropriately high level character and lay down a smackdown while game-related memes and other things like that are referenced.
The closing credits would be a techno remix comprised of the clip of “LEEROOOOOY JEEEENKIIIINS” mixed with the “50 DKP Minus” guy’s antics.
