Shia Gets Injured On ‘Indy 4,’ Gears Up For ‘Transformers 2’

One’s a 65-year-old actor masquerading as the biggest action star on the planet, the other’s a 21-year-old at the peak of his physical prowess. So guess which one got injured on the set of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”?

You get two chances, and your first one doesn’t count.

“I pulled a rotator cuff in my hip,” Shia LaBeouf said, gesturing to his waist. “It’s the only time in my career I’ve ever been injured. What happened was, because the injury got worse and worse as the movie went on, I pulled my groin also. [The groin] is not a good thing to have anything happen to.”

But injuries are temporary, and film is forever. And this particular scene, the one where he pulled his hip, just happens to be his favorite scene in the movie — one where he gets to finally step into the light as the heir to Indiana Jones.

And we can’t tell you a darn thing about it … yet. Though we will say (because Shia admitted to it on the red carpet), that it has to do with a sword fight. Look for more news about that scene — and the first full interview with Shia about “Indy 4″ — on MTV News in the coming weeks.

Before then, though, there’s the matter of another little sequel that Shia wants to put on our radar. “We’re gearing up for ‘Transformers’ in June,” he announced.

As for what he’d like to see out of his robot pals, Shia has just one request “It’s got to be more badass,” he exclaimed. “It has to be.”

You can skip to the end and leave a response.

does anyone know what red carpet this is?

Poor old Shia. I hope for him to get better soon. Can’t wait to see this sword scene and can’t wait for the Transformers Sequel.

  3. SpielbergFilms Says:

Ford isn’t “masquerading as the biggest action star on the planet.” Late 30s or mid-60s, he’s been the biggest action star on the planet for decades, and he still looks fantastic (if the “Crystal Skull” trailer is any indication). Give the man his due, MTV! :)

  4. NileQT87 Says:

    ditto what spielbergfilms said.

harrison isn’t masquerading as anything. he IS the biggest action star on the planet; was and still is. he’s the one that all the young kids trying to become action stars use as a model for learning how to do it–and they are more than willing to admit when they are copying harrison.

harrison is still one of the greatest leading men in modern hollywood and one of the most influential to the current generation (especially between han solo and indiana jones). give him his due.

and he could probably kick the ass today of whoever wrote this “masquerading” garbage. which is why he’s still doing physical acting that would freak out and awe most up-and-comers. he’s the old-school kind of action hero with genuine do-it-yourself toughness–the epitome of the tough old bastard wise-ass. …and unlike most other ’80s action heroes–he also had the dramatic acting chops (witness, the mosquito coast) and the classic handsome, romantic-lead looks.

shia’s a promising up-and-comer… and he’s getting schooled by some of the best… and unlike mtv, shia knows to respect them.
