Miley Cyrus Looks Towards Nashville For Next ‘Hannah Montana’ Movie

As teen pop sensation Hannah Montana, beloved TV character Miley Stewart has seen her share of sights. She’s traveled the country, and been to the top of the music charts. This year, she even made it to the big-screen in the ambitious “Best of Both Worlds” concert tour. Now Miss Stewart is about to go the one place she hasn’t yet been, revealed “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus…home.

“[She's] going to Nashville,” confessed Cyrus of the set-up for the still-untitled “Hannah Montana” movie, which begins filming April 12.

For those who don’t religiously watch the popular Disney Channel show, Montana is the alter-ego of Miley Stewart, a regular ninth grade girl who keeps her more popular identity a secret from all but her closest friends. Sometime before the show began, Stewart left Nashville for Los Angeles so she could follow her dreams of rock stardom as Hannah.

Much of the show’s humor comes from this dichotomy: boisterous, popular Hannah playing late, silly, self-conscious Miley sleeping during homeroom. More often than not, the double life leaves Miley making excuses, or trying to explain socially awkward situations.

Not anymore, says Cyrus, who says Miley Stewart will finally be front and center for the movie.

“It’s showing more of the Miley side of life,” Cyrus said of the flick, which will be released in 2009. “More of the normal girl kind of figuring herself out type thing.

“It’s going to be really cool, really funny” Cyrus added.

Seems like a good idea for the movie. I like the show but I think that I would be bored having to sit through 90 mins of a extra-long, very predictable episode.

I think it's a wondeful idea since I live right outside Nashville and my son really wants to be in an extra or something in the movie (he is studying film at the Nashville School Of Arts). So this is wonderful. (:

i think that when she does the hannah montana movie that it will not make her more famous than she already is. No matter where she goes she will always be followed and that the fans will still love her even she does make a movie but the fans will not be happy if she doesn't make new episodes of hannah montana. But she will be great in her new movie and i don't think that the decision will effect her ability to perform or make movies or her television show. and this will not effect her ability to talk and thank her fame. Thank you miley cyrus for showing us that anything is possible.

Absolutly a great idea!! Many parts of TN are down home and "family based"; not that other states are not but Tn also has many beautiful landscapes for filming a movie. You go little miss Miley...stay pure sweetie! Your parents are doing a wonderful job. My daughter has all the lines memorized and quotes them while watching the program. As a mother of a 14 year old girl who watches Hannah Montana religiously, I think that Miley is a great role model for young teenage girls who just want to act like teenage girls. Miley is very much a teenager and that is what I love about her show. I wish there were other shows like her for my daughter to watch, unlike those awful shows that teenagers are watching now a days like, Digrasse High.Awful show. R Zavala

This is cool news! The new Hannah Montana movie is going to be filmed in Nashville and Los Angeles.

Good luck with your new movie, Miley! I can't wait to take my daughter to see it.

I heard that Dolly Parton, Heather Locklear, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could make appearances in the film. Billy Ray Cyrus has also expressed a desire for Willie Nelson to appear.

The regular cast of the Hannah Montana TV show are all going to be in it too.

I Believe that her idea of making the movie in nashville is a good idea. Nashville has alot of "guitar" scenery and she could easily find places to film.

Also, I would like to get to know her, so maybe I'll run across her while I'm Venturing downtown.

So yea. Nashville is the right choice for Destiny to film her movie, and Go ahead and make NSA her choice of schooling too. It;'s such a private institution, she shouldn't get too much publicity there.

I am going to be in the new Hannah Montana movie. It is being filmed in the Nashville area now. I do my parts in the movie during the month of June. The Movie comes out to Theatres in the US 1st May 2009, And May 15th in Britian
