Hip hop speaks truth from the streets, but why should those streets be limited to Brooklyn instead of the tech corridors of Silicon Alley? There’s where nerdcore comes in, and thankfully there’s a new documentary “Nerdcore Rising” that spotlights this emerging geekish rap genre. In the following clip, hear from Weird Al Yankovic, comedian Brian Posehn and an assortment of the leading nerdcore hip hop artists who take us inside the budding scene. There’s no release date yet, but the doc just made SXSW and will be screening at AFI Dallas and the Atlanta Film Fest.
You can skip to the end and leave a response.

Just saw this film last night, and had a chance to do an interview with Frontalot, the band, and Negin. The interview and a full review will be up on my site, soon, but in short: Great, great movie! Hilarious, human, and balanced on Nerdcore’s strengths and weaknesses.
