First off, Ashley Greene is like the nicest person I think I’ve ever talked to in my entire life. Secondly, she gave us tons of cool “Twilight” revelations when I interviewed her from the set of the movie, which resulted in this just-published article. Make sure you head over to the Movies site and check it out.
But in my mind, one of the most interesting characters in the series is Bella’s soft-spoken father Charlie. Naturally, I had to ask Ashley whether rumors on his casting were correct.
“Billy Burke is playing him,” she confirmed. “It’s funny, because he’s friends with a couple of my really good friends. He was in ‘Fracture,’ and ‘Untraceable’ with Diane Lane, which I really want to see. I’ve only met him once, and I don’t really have any scenes with him yet. But I think he’s a pretty good fit…He’s commented on making the character a strong character.”
A lot has also been made of Alice Cullen’s heightened sense of fashion, and whether the early shots of Greene are staying true to it. Appropriately, the actress revealed to me that some of the die-hard “Twilight” fans might be helping her out on that front.
“A lot of people want to make jewelry for me,” she laughed, referencing some of the fan-mail she’s already received. “There is a woman you makes her own jewelry and sells it, and she wants to make me some, and I said ‘Amazing, send it to my manager and they’ll get it right to me’.”
Unfortunately for the fan, however, Greene doubts any of her “Twilight”-inspired jewelry will end up on screen. “I don’t think I would wear it in the movie, because with wardrobe, if I have one necklace I have to have 30 of the same necklace, because it’s an action-type movie,” she explained. “But I will definitely try to get it [some exposure] somewhere. I’m sure there are gonna be plenty of interviews and guest appearances.”

I’ve read Ashley’s interview and she sounds really sweet!! When i first saw pictures of her and heard she was going to play Alice i thought she was a perfect fit!! I really like the cast of Twilight I think they all fit their roles perfectly :)Its hard to cast people as perfect as the Cullens especially when they are such image of what they look like in their minds.I’ve seen some behind the scenes pictures and videos and i think everyone is doing a great job…im really excited about this movie!! I just want to wish the cast and crew the best of luck during filming!And as for bad comments about the cast,,i think it’s really unfair! They are doing the best they can..they are filiming this movie 4Twilight fans at least give them taht much..and does it really matter if they don’t have the right type of clothes or they are’nt exactly the right height??

They are really nice to respond to fans’ question =) We are not able to blame them for anything when they connect with the fans that way. It’s like they are doing anything to please us crazy fans :D. I even feel a little bad lol.

I’ve always believed in the cast and you can tell that they are dedicated. Now that most of the world realizess how big Twilight is, that’ll be even more of a motivation to do well. Ashleey’s great and so is the rest of the cast. They are a hot cast, lol, defenitely beats Harry Potter as far as sex appeal is concerned (sigh…Oh Robert my love).

This cast is so wonderful for doing such fun interviews and double goes for MTV for pursuing them. I think Ashley makes a great Alice - people who quibble with details are taking everything way too seriously. Now if only we get a interviews with Robert, Kellan and Jackson!!!!!!

Alice seems believable to me but kind of clueless still about the whole series.
Most of the people playing big roles say they have read twilight, but I don’t know sometimes I have to question it.
I think what really matters is how they act, because if they loom perfect but suck at acting then what’s the point? Yeah they should look right but acting comes first for me.

WOW! Ashley Greene seems really sweet and smart. Just as she said, “Alot of people visualize Alice as Rachel Leigh Cook” and I couldn’t agree less… But also like she said, if Rachel were Alice then she would look older than how old Alice really is physically……. I cant wait to see how great she is in the movie! I used to not be that thrilled by the cast, but after hearing some of their interviews; THEY SEEM SO NICE!!! Haven’t you noticed? My favorite Cullen characters are Edward and Alice.I CANT WAIT! Your such an amazing person Ashley, whether your portraying Alice or not! ROCK ON!

People- stop bashing the other actors. The casting people are trying very hard (and doing a gr8 job, i might add) to get humans to play the cullens, and i know people arent necessarily saying things in this article about it, but get over it and realize: WE GET A FREAKING MOVIE!!!!!

I can’t tell you how happy this made me.
I have better utterly devestated by the idea of Twilight as a movie, at first I was excited! i would get to see theses scenes preformed. But Then after a few seconds i realized, that movies are NEVER as good as the books they’re based off of, and often those scenes that you would have just loved to see preformed, aren’t.
The biggest thing is Characters though. So fine, the actor doesn’t look EXACTLY how you pictured them, but what i just can’t stand it when the characters are just DIFFERENT -personality, mannerisms, and stuff- from the way they are in the book.
Greene REALLY seems to understand Alice, who is one of my favorite characters. What astounded me was what she said about Jasper and Alice’s relationship. She was very much right about that. Even when he was worried for her safety in New Moon when she went to Italy, their reunion was simply them looking into each others eyes, Bella said it was so intimate she had to look away, and yet they didn’t embrace each other. They were simply connected. I understand that she and Rathbone aren’t going to have that connection, but the fact that they know it’s there, and strive for it, makes me worry a little less about this movie.
I AM defiantly a hardcore twilight fan, I’m writing this while wearing an “I LOVE JACOB BLACK” tee shirt, and searching for news on twilihgt. I practically breath it, it’s my favorite Books series.
The actors were never what I was worried about. I think Alshley Greene will do great. It really sounds like she has Alice down pat! lol.
Now the only thing I’m worried about is the script. I have read all the books enough times to have them memorized practically, and I love it! I understand changing things to shorten and fit screen format. But if too much is changed, I might just have to, well idk, i’ll probably cry and then find a way to yell and scream at the director, screenwriter and producers of the movie for ruining the best book ever! But for now, this has given me hope that the best part of the books-the character-are going to be done right!
Don’t dissappoint us Twihards!!!
I still can’t belive we were called that! lol. But I guess some of us are. I proudly admitt to being a hardcore Twilight fan!!!

I love Alice…i think she will do great even tho she isn’t the height for Alice in the book….but really what person that is 17 or older do u know that is 4′ 10. Well i hope the movie ROCKS GOOD LUCK CAST (ESPECIALLY TO EDWARD, BELLA, AND ALICE AND THE REST OF THE CULLEN FAMILY)!!!!!!!

Wow, I really like Ashley Greene alot, I love her personality, she is so kind.
Ok, well when it comes to the cast and stuff, I deffinetly give them the benefit of the doubt! I really like them, alot.. (Cept Jackson’s wig, eeep, I was so close to calling animal control, or possibaly, I was getting worreied that they had casted a new cast member when they chose to make Jackson where that wig…eepp)….
PS: Ashley, you may think that being seventeen and 4′10 is ismpossiable, we I guess you have never met my aunt, she is exactly 4′10, and has always been…. xD, lol..

I think the casting directors did a wonderful job on all of the cast. Ashley is not exactly how I pictured Alice but she’s very close. I love her for Alice. Alice is my favorite character (after Edward and Bella). I think everyone is great. I’m loving all of the new pictures of the cast. December 12th cannot come any faster. lol Thank you MTV for conducting all these interviews. They’re all great.

I think Ashley will be perfect for Alice. I know people get a little bit upset about physical descriptions but I think acting is the most important thing without a doubt. Does anyone know if they cut her hair or if she’s wearing a wig? I’ve seen pictures but I think it is hard to tell. She had such pretty, long hair before so if they did cut it I would imagine that it would have been a little sad. Or maybe not. I’m loving these weekly updates from MTV.

I think she’ll play a fabulous Alice. I like that she gets Alice and Jasper’s relationship really well. And I don’t know why people expect the actors to look exactly the same as they imagine them. How can people base the whole movie off of the promos? Although, I think Ashley’s hair really suits her. And I really like the wardrobe, from what I’ve seen from photos of the set, and everything. Very classy, I think.
AND (regarding the initial question) so far I’ve loved every person cast. I also think the fact that the actors are connecting with the fans defintely makes me feel a lot more sympathy for them. I probably would even if they didn’t, though. People in this fandom are kinda coocoo for CoaCoa Puffs.
But, seriously, we need to see some interview-age of the Cullen boys now

I never doubted Greene’s ability to play Alice. And, Alice Cullen being my most beloved character of the entire series, I was anxious to know who would play her and how well she would do. I have faith in her and the cast.
My biggest concern is whether or not the movie itself will stick true to the plotline, the sequence of events. And also, whether or not they’ll be trying to cram all three books into one movie or if they’ll actually do one movie per book. I prefer the latter to the former, to be totally honest. And I think, with this series, it’s possible to do and still keep the boxoffice going for it’s money, just like the Harry Potter movies.
We’ll all have to see how this turns out, won’t we?

I think Ashley will do great as Alice, actually I like most of the casting, but I do worry about Billy Burke as Charlie simply because he is supposed to be balding and in my mind sort of more world weary or something, with like a bit of a paunch, and I think Billy Burke is too good looking, not that Charlie should be ugly, but just more sad and lonely, although I do see the chief of police somewhere in him. I’m not totally against him, just worried…

We hope the movie is going to be good. We want them to make me believe that there are really vampires here. We hope the producers of the movie wont get lazy and make the movie a bommer. We love the books and We keep reading it over and over again. We really hope that Bella in the forth book really marries Edward without any interuptions from Jacob. jacob is hott but Edward is Sexy. But I would go for Jacob if I don’t want to kiss a rock. Jk I love Edward Put me in a room with him by ourselves.

Ok, I love some of the people that they casted.
But it’s not so much how they look or that their wardrobe matches the book exactly.
It’s more “How’s the acting going to be?” and “How much is different from the script and the book?”
That’s all I’m really worried about.

Well I hope Ashely has an awesome time filming Twilight. I don’t get why everyone is so negative when we should embrace the fact that our favorite book is “coming to life” but I also understand most fans’ views on casting because we all made up in our minds who “should be” the Cullens.
No offense to you Larry, but I really DON’T think you understand Twilight at all. You say you know the storyline but do you? I’m very grateful about the movie happening and it’s already HIGHLY ANTICIPATED yet I think you should let the people who appreciate the novels, talk to the cast and let them see what fans vision when it comes to the “Twilight world”.

I don’t have a problem with Ashley Green, she seems perfect for the part, and I don’t mind her hair being that length. BUT I do have a problem with the fact that her hair isn’t deep black like it’s described in the book, Ashley Green might have to dye her hair.

I think Twilight is going to be excellent (not quite as good as the book, but still excellent). The casting directors must have a lot of experience–they did so well! I really like the Cullens, they all fit perfectly. At first I was like, “Oh, no, I don’t even want to know the cast I’m so scared”, but after thinking about it they actually DO look like what I thought they should!

Ashley Greene fits the role of Alice perfectly. She’s one of the few casts I’d have to say that fits her role perfectly. She’s beautiful and from her interviews and such, she sounds like a sweet and down to earth person. Hey, isn’t that alot like what Alice is like?
