If it’s possible to create a riot in cyberspace, “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart may have done just that a few weeks ago, mentioning a scene in the upcoming movie in which “[Robert Pattinson as Edward] throws me over his back, right before he’s going to tell me that he’s a vampire, and then he runs over the treetops.”
Some 1,600 comments later, the debate rages on, over whether the scene strays too far from the book’s depiction. Naturally, when we landed the first-ever on-set “Twilight” interview with Stewart’s co-star Rachelle Lefevre, we had to get her thoughts on whether those treetops would be tweaking “Twilight” too much.
“There’s a scene where Edward reveals to Bella that he is a vampire, and he doesn’t just reveal that he’s a vampire, he reveals all that that encompasses,” Lefevre said of the script. “It’s almost a demonstration, and I think that scene is going to be amazing.”
The actress, who plays the vampire Victoria in the flick, added that the cast has spent the past few weeks training for such stunts. “I haven’t seen all of the stunts specifically, but I did see a setup of that while I was doing my wire work,” she revealed. “I would imagine that [Stewart's statement] is exactly what they are going to do.
“They’re talking like it’s really going to happen,” Lefevre added. “We did a rehearsal at one point where [director] Catherine [Hardwicke] was like, ‘They went up in the tree, but we’re not doing that today.’ I think we are really doing that.”
Before you post your comments below, Lefevre wants you to consider that the treetop-running thing does happen at other times in the “Twilight” series, even if not in the moment when Edward reveals himself.
“I think that there is a scene where a character ends up in a treetop in the book,” she explained. “I don’t want to say who, but there are treetop scenes in the book. But there are also things that are described in the book — the stunts that we are going to be doing, as far as I understand it, are very accurate to what’s in the book.
“You want to put as much action and excitement into the movie as possible,” Lefevre said of the controversy. “So sometimes things get heightened.”
So, twi-hards: What do you think?

HOWEVER i do agree that this movie will be brilliant non the less. everyone really should just be happy that a movie is coming out at all.
But... those people who are whining about the treetop seen, get over it, we are luck to even get a movie from this wonderful series. good Luck to the movie!! also i cant wait for the fourth book, or Edwards version of Twilight.
Byes!
But I'm sure we all know by now that there was NO TREETOP RUNNING in the books...
However, in the "Esme" SCRIPT SIDES, there was a "treetop jumping" scene. Which I think is what Rachelle L. was referring to. In context, the treetop jumping occurs when Edward and Bella go to the Cullens house for the 1st time. She says shes not afraid of him, and then he tackles her, they jump off his "balcony" (don't know where the balcony came from) and into the treetops. Jump, jump, jump; they share a beautiful panoramic view.
Anyway, just pointing out that this was probably where the treetop stuff is gonna come into play. And about Port Angeles - if the script sides are any indication of whats gonna be in the movie, then that scene WILL be in there. It's in Jessica's SS. Ok. Thats all. :)
About the cast, I think they are really good, its definately impossibe to get the right people to play them. There is only a couple of minor things that I hope get fixed, Jasper's hair of course, I do think that Carlisle looks too old, I think Rosalie should have just a tiny bit darker blonde hair. And I think they all need to be paler. I doubt the movie will do the books justice but I hope they are good enough =]
"You make me feel like a villain in a melodrama- twirling my mustache while i try and steal some poor girl's virtue."
But i dont really mind i think its going to be great.
I really dont think they'll change it too much. Twilight fans(w/e we're called)are really serious, i would know lol. If i were working on the movie i would be scared to change anything too much lol.
and they run through the forest not over it! come on ppl. read the book over again... srry
but let's just see how the movie comes out i cant wait!
Twi-Hards :)
i idin't know we were called that..
just hope they get the scenes right..
go twi-hard haha
weird name for us i like the Twilighters a liitle
but again the twi-hards is kewl 2
i read the series many times and unless i missed something there is not treetop running
First off, where in the world is LeFevre getting her "it happened in the books" argument? As a fan who owns all three books and has read them an insanely large number of times, I have yet to see this scene occur, at any point. If I have missed it, give me a page number and a book title and I'll be more than happy to apologize. Until then, I'm calling bullsh!t all over Miss LeFevre's remark. (That said, I think she'll do really well in the movie. Good luck, girl! Have fun and make us fans proud! ^^ And that goes out to all the actors/actresses, especially Edward and Bella. You both have big shoes to fill, but I think that if anyone in this world can become one of the most popular couples of this decade, it is you two. Get going so that I can see Bella and Edward in the flesh!)
Secondly, if the directors realize just how large a fan base is already out there for the books (which it sounds like they do), they'll also realize how important it'll be to stick to the book as closely as they can. Tiptoeing through treetops feels like a blatant slap at the story.
Most importantly (in my mind), Bella's self-realization of the truth is gone with this single scene. Yes, it may be more impressive than the book; but it was important that Jacob be the one to tell her--read the series later to find out--it was important for Bella to realize it on her own, it was important for Bella to come to grips and make her decision on whether to continue the "relationship" (such as it was at the time) on her own, and I sincerely doubt that Bella will be able to do that while whizzing past treetops. Hell, she nearly passed out the first time she ran with Edward! What in the world makes people think that she'll be able to comprehend anything besides her churning stomach the first time she runs with Edward?
And what happens to Jacob? That was his big part in the book, telling Bella about the "cold ones." Why bother getting a Jacob if they're going to get rid of his big moment? (I love the actor they got to play Jacob, by the way. He's absolutely, 100% perfect, in my eyes. *swoons* *recovers* *clears throat* *flushes slightly* Moving on...)
So that was a very long comment to a very long debate, one that I don't see disappearing in the next few months. I bet the publicists for the movie are over the moon about all the free advertising this movie is getting already with all the fan responses. ^^ I can't wait to see the movie, and I hope that they keep as close to the book as possible; if they don't, I think they might have a mob on their hands... With torches and pitchforks...^^
P.S. Just wanted to say.... I really hate Jacob and I wouldn't mind at all if he was killed off. Actually.. I'm hoping for it. He is just really annoying and keeps hitting on Bella and tearing Bella and Edward apart!!!!!URGHHHHHH!!!!!
THEIR COMMENTS MAKE NOOOO SENSE
but i mean seriously...i bet they didnt even READ the books! come on really....this is for FANS only!!!!
peace
I can say though, that I'm anxiously awaiting the movie and will be there the night it's released!
Sometimes you have to deal with that extra stuff directors put in to enjoy the movie.
Catherine [from what I've seen so far] is a fabulouse director and I doubt she will completely switch around the story line.
This is dipite the fact, of course, that Stephenie had some contract thinga ma bob with the producers that they couldn't do certain things.
This will all be fine and turn out absolutely spectacular in the end; I am quite certain.
just enjoy the movie
be gratful they actually put in a movie , sorry to be rude to people but you people are idoits if they are actually giving you information about the movie and whats happening , The actors are awesome , they are keeping in it in a reasonable level of a Twilight decent movie , I read the book alot of times and they are keeping it tied to the book , the treetop thing get real! ! !
If there is a part or not what with it , they are trying to make the movie good ,what else can i say , for real, it is going to be great if you guys don't like don't watch it , if you guys don't appreciate the work , then just shut up nobody needs idiot critisism , so please stop putting .... bad comments
