‘Twilight’ Film’s First Family Of Vampires Is Finally Revealed

Hollywood’s take on Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling book series “Twilight” has now rounded out some of its biggest casting…that of the Cullen family, the mainstay of the blockbuster vampire franchise. Peter Facinelli (”Six Feet Under”), Elizabeth Reaser (”Grey’s Anatomy”), Jackson Rathbone (”The O.C.”), Ashley Greene (”King of California”) and Kellan Lutz (”Stick It”), alongside the previously revealed Nikki Reed and Robert Pattinson, have been confirmed by MTV News as the stars who will make up Forks’ first family. In addition, the photo of the group in costume is the first image revealed from the film, which is currently shooting in the Portland, Oregon, area.

When I first heard that Robert Pattinson was to be Edward, I was slightly disappointed. But now looking at the family all together... I like them all. No one is ever going to match what I think of Edward, but Robert is pretty darn close. It will be interesting to see how this group connects and interacts within the film. I wish only the best for this cast in living up to expectations.

I love the cast! but i'm a bit worried about the wardrobe and makeup. I mean, im hoping these are only some pictures to please the fans, because they look like they were done at JC Penny and I'm hating Jaspers hair!! it's funny looking!

ok i realize that finding 7 perfect looking people is extremely difficult, and that the chances of them having talent are slim, but COME ON!!!! i mean it's just.....all wrong. everyone may see the Cullen family differently in their head, but i guess the thing that's bugging me is how the cast doesn't look SUPERNATURAL. they look too human.

I agree, I think the cast needs to be a little more supernatural looking, but other than that, I think that the cast they have right now is as close as they can get! I mean come on, no amount of hollywood make up can take hundreds of thousands of fantasy images of Edward, or the Cullens for that matter and make the perfect cast...dang it...

Okay everyone. Stop your whining abot the cast. They were just announced-make up/effects and such will come. You are seeing a couple of inital press release shots for crying out loud. I say-Bravo to the cast. I am sure a few tweaks will bring it all together. Did any of you think that what you had visualized in your minds would match perfectly. C'mon, join the "real world" -

I agree with Karen. These are most likely test/preliminary shots for the fans because the movie has been getting big buzzed because the cast has practically been leaked before this photo came. As you can tell by the bad lighting, clothes and set, there will be more pictures to come. The cast looks great, except for the clothes and Jasper's wig, but I'm pretty sure this is just a test shot to see how the cast looks together.

I think that Robert looks amazing and totally Edward-like! I'm really impressed with Peter as Carlisle also. I wasn't sure about him at first but he looks fitting in these pics! I'm still not a fan of Nikki Reed and Jasper's hair is ridiculous, but overall I'm pretty pleased!

Poor Jasper and Rosalie. Their hair looks SO bad. At least they look like 'twins' though. Peter looks incredibly good as a blonde and definitely looks like Carlisle.

I think the cast is perfect! Robert looks the part to me and I think he will do great. I am hoping that the make up and clothing will get better when the movie comes out though. They are supposed to have lots of money and good fashion sense. Of course the hair needs to be better too! But I can see it is to get things started and it will only get better. I am happy and can't wait for the movie to come out! :)

I think that Carlisle and Esme are wonderful casts. Emmit is all right. I think Jasper is ok, but you should find someone else if you can. Same for Rosalie, although she seems ALMOST perfect for the cast. Alice should definitely be portrayed differently, and EDWARD! Edward deserves a different person to play him. Find someone better. Overall, they are all ok, but they need a little work.

I think the cast is really good, Of course everybody imagined the family perfect but lets get real no one is perfect. They're all good actors and i know they can pull it off, like when i first found out that robert was playing edward i was like noooooo way, but then i saw some more pics of him and i feel in love =]. and he looks way better now and more vampirish. they all fit except for jasper's hair i feel bad for him lol, but i bet they will fix it. and i still dont know if Nikki can pull off Rosalie but i guess we would have to wait.

OMG!!!!! i think that rob looks perfectly hot. there is no one on this earth that can look like edward but, rod comes very close. i luve rob so im happy withe the choice. and think of it this way these images are only like a ruf draft. and if he lookes good now imagine how he will look when he has the actual stuff on.

Okay, now we all know that the movies are never as good as the books but for a book this exciting and intriguing the cast should at least have a little bit of mystery and glamour. This family fits better on the set of Desperate Housewives than in a sci-fi thriller. Emmett is too small..Rosalie is too big..Jasper has an animal on his head..and instead of making Edward look supernaturaly beautiful they dulled him waaaay down.

What in the heck is going on here!!!! Robert would look better with a better hairstyle and the rest of them look terrible. Peter is way too old to be playing Carlisle, they should have used Charlie hunnam. Esme is not the Esme I imagined at all. Jasper's hair looks like road kill on top of his head. Rosalie's is almost as bad. Emmet should be bigger and have curly hair. I know it's hard to find good actors with the right look but dang this is bad!!! Maybe you should all go to a fashion show in NYC and pick better clothes for these poor people. Jasper looks like he couldn't hurt a flea, can't tell if he is supposed to be a girl or boy.

first i saw the actors in stephanie meyers website and i was "crap! they messed it up" but now the whole cullen family looks alright. In my mind their far more beautiful so noyhing really can compare...but it close-ish..

i'm actually ok with this!! at first i was way mad about it! even tho robert doesnt look like edward in any way (to me at least) i'll be ok with it. i was also mad about carlisle too, but now its all good! lol which one is rosalie? the one with the blond hair hopefully cuz i cant really tell. esme is way pretty too! i sorta pictured her like that. well, ya! way exited for the movie!!

I think that everyone looks way better than I thought! I was afraid that they would all look wrong, but together they look perfect! :) But Emmett is a little wrong... along with Rosalie.... but considering they are the only ones that aren't perfect I think the casting crew did FABULOUS!!! seems the general consensus on Jaspers hair here and at the twilightlexiconblog.com, i know they're test shots initial promos etc so here's to praying they fix it or else i'm sure we're all gunna be fixated on Jasper's ballooning hair all through the movie :)

all in all, great casting, fix the hair, don't %%*%? too much with the essence of the story (i know i know it's based on Twilight only but STILL!!!) yay for Summit! *xoxo*

People need to stop complaining about the cast! Henry is too old to play Edward and he turned down the script. We all know that Jasper's hair is henious, all thanks to the head of the hair department (who worked in blades of glory). These are just test shots, as you can tell by the crappy set, costume and lighting! There will be better pics to come, and we can't change the cast anymore! It is what it is! If the casting directors believe these are the best to play the Cullens, then so be it! People need to take the cast seriously, not in an immature and childsih way!

fire her and the rest of the cast. everything about them is so wrong. anyone drawing names from a hat can do a better job than that. my least favorite are jasper, bella , and rosalie actors. i just dont think they can do it. no matter how much make-up you can stack on a persons face, frankly they are just not pretty enough. no one in reality could compare to my imagination, but yes i did find better actors for each part. twilight book fans will probably not be too pleased but those who havent read the book and just like vampires might enjoy the movie. Personally the movie should either not happen or just cancel the cast and keep searching. trust me much better actors are out there,that look better too. sorry but to me you dont cut it. n please do not make sequeals and ruin the entire books, though thats kind of impossible im sure you might be able to be bad enough to do it.

whoa emely, have you been on the twilightlexicon blog? u need to if you think Twilight fans are not pleased. close to 600 comments right now in the span of one day praising how well Summit has done with the casting except a few minor hair issues

of course it will never compare to what our imagination has painted for us but seriously c'mon now, we all want to see the story come to life have a lil faith! :)

I think that we need to be a little more picky with the cast instead of accepting something tossed at us that they think will hopefully suffice. I, like many, was initially wary of the casting for Twilight, but these pictures have certainly converted me, at least moreso than before. I especially like Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, and Peter Facinelli as Carlisle. In my opinion, they were cast pretty well. Ashley Greene looks Alice-y enough, though she doesn't appear to have that same spark as what I would imagine (maybe in the actual movie it'll be better) and I thought her hair should be more of a pixie cut. I didn't even recognise Nikki Reed as Rosalie, I thought it was someone else. The only thing is, I don't think she looks quite haughty and mean as she is meant to, and I think that will be Rosalie's downfall in the movie. Jasper...well I'm not going to say it again, since we all pretty much are united in the matter of his hair...and Emmett is good, although again his personality doesn't seem quite right. He just doesn't seem jovial enough, but appearance wise i think he suffices. And lastly, Edward. At first I didn't like the idea of Robert Pattinson playing Edward, not because of his looks, but mainly coz he already was Cedric Diggory to me, and when adapting books into movies, its always smarter to cast unknown actors. Ah well, I think he is quite good looking, and he does exude vampire-cool, so yeah! I look forward to seeing the movie, and I just hope I'm not let down too much!

no offense, tom sturridge is better as edward. i mean, he's the closest one who looks like edward (for me). And, they don't look perfect. i mean Rosalie, it's not even close =)) kristen is prettier, rosalie should be prettier than bella, right? =)) i just wanted to say that i got dissapointed with the cast. esme should look like 20+, but she looks like 30 :)) anyway, i hope the movie turns out great despite the not so good choices :)) and this is only my opinion :) no opinions are wrong :D

The cullen family. In my opinion some of them aren't suitable to play these parts...but have you seen such hair has jasper? And also carlisle is a bit strange. Anyway, I'm completely positive about the movie, I hope they will do their best so the film would be beautiful like the books. I'm looking forward watching the movie: I'm excited!!!

Okay everyone whose like "Omg they suck" and "what are they wearing?!"

This movie has SERIOUS publicity right now. They probably called all the cast together ASAP just to get some OKAY pictures to release. These were probably the clothes the actors were WEARING WHEN THEY WENT THERE! These are just photos to show everyone WHO IS WHO. NO real person looks supernatural. When you see photos of these actors, a lot of the times things have been PHOTOSHOPED! this whole movie will use make up, computers, and THEY'LL OBV. do something to jaspers hair. This is just a test shot. Don't make judgments about a movie just based on the cast appearance. The book will always be better. Duh. But all of the actors up there that i've seen in movies are GOOD, skilled actors. This movie was not going to have A list stars in it. Kristin and Robert are the biggest names in the movie. Even if you don't appreciate the cast, its bothersome when people base everything off their appearance, or complain. You can convey you're negative opinion and not make it a hate comment. When you judge so quickly, you look silly.
