Nikki Reed Sees ‘Twilight’ As Vampire Film Adds To Cast

Nikki Reed Much like Bella’s eye-opening journey to Port Angeles, the past few weeks have been filled with revelations for “Twilight” fans everywhere. Now, as cameras officially begin rolling on the eagerly-anticipated vampire flick, four more actors have been added to the cast.

MTV News has confirmed exclusively that Nikki Reed (”Thirteen”), Rachelle Lefevre (”What About Brian”), Cam Cigandet (”The O.C.”) and Michael Welch (”Joan of Arcadia”) have been cast in the flick based on Stephenie Meyer’s #1 bestseller. The actors will be playing the key series roles of Rosalie, Victoria, James and Mike Newton, respectively.

“Twilight” is currently beginning production in the Portland, Oregon area, and is targeting a late-2008/early-2009 release.

In addition, the mysterious Cullen family are expected to be revealed next week (possibly with the first photo from the film), and soon afterwards we can expect names for the roles of such key characters as Jasper Hale, Billy Black, Jacob Black and Charlie Swan.

this is pretty much all the latest information on the movie. i am a little disappointed in who was cast as edward, but i can't name a single person who i would consider a "perfect" edward. (besides edward cullen himself ;) )

Honestly, like a lot of other girls I'm disappointed with the cast. Its not that I think there should be an excessive amount of gorgeous and famous guys playing Edward, Jacob, Jasper, Emmett and others.Its just that the ones who we've been told so far are in the cast are not realistic enough. The reason why so many people have gone out and bought these books, the reason why (after I transferred to a new highschool this year) I could sit down at a lunch table with some friends and be surprised that they were discussing Twilight-vampires and werewolves-in the middle of a regular school day, is because we felt we could relate to the characters. I get that the producers and directors have a lifetime of experience at creating movies and casts, where we the fans have none. However it feels as though no one is listening to us. Not to sound like an annoyed child, but we stood behind and supported Mrs. Meyers books, and it feels as though no one making the movie has even looked at youtube or fan sites and actually considered the fact that the actors need to be the people we felt we had become friends with while reading these books.

okay, i said this millions of times before. but the cast is fine the way it is. but i think that everyone who keeps on complaining about the cast is really annoying. you guys keep saying all these stuff about how you hate the way things are and don't like the cast and keep saying that the movie is gonna suck. but do you think the directors and producers are going to change their minds? do you honestly think the actors are gonna break their contratcts to listen to what bratty annoying girls say they're ugly and suck? (no offense) but some are u are being really bratty and can't grasp the fact that no body can look "inhumanly" beautiful. okay i hate to be rude but for the girls out there that keep trashing the cast, go somewhere and create an "anti-twilight cast" blog and write about it there. because no one who is excited for the movie and likes the cast has time to hear your bull crap. i think the movie will kick ass and so will the cast, and i think i speak for the girls that are excited for the movie. and the rest of the people you are hating, go #$*$~ off because no one gives. again i hate to be rude. that's all:P:)

I agree with lena. You just have to suck it up there all you little princesses and accept the fact these actors/actresses are here to stay. They are going to be awesome and do justice in the roles they play.

I have to say that I am very particular and picky about this because I am overly obsessed with everything Twilight. I have to say, however, that of the comments I read, you guys are being WAY too harsh. I know, I didn't visualize the actors good enough for the parts, no offense, but who can? We are dealing with unhumanly beautiful vampires here, and last time I checked, they can only cast humans. The actors are beautiful, and if you think about it as much as I have, you can see them playing the roles when you read the book. Lighten up people, it's just a movie.

GASPARD ULLIEL will always be my EDWARD CULLEN!!! honestly, i was quite disappointed with the casting of the Cullen family... they don't look like how i pictured them in the book! Bella is okay...=D for me, the song "your guardian angel" by red jumpsuit apparatus, best fits TWILIGHT... since i cannot do anything now... all i could say is... NO COMMENT! what's this?!? isn't this a comment?!?(stupid me...)hahaha... for the actors, please give justice to the characters so we won't be disappointed... i have faith in you since they picked you to play for the role...that's all!

I'm kinda unhappy with Nikki playin' Rosalie... they should've picked a true blonde. I just don't think she fits the part. Also, Rosalie is supposed to be breathe taking, but frankly, she's really not. She's pretty and all, but not like gorgeous. And I don't really like who's going to play Jasper. What's with the hair? Well, I still love the books, and can't wait until the movie come out. So hopefully they can pull it off, and play the part.

I have read all the books and am so excited about the movie. They picked some good people for the roles. the only things I worry about is that they picked the wrong Edward and carslisle should be played by a younger actor. I hope that the movie is good. I really hope the movie is well done, loved the book. I was also hoping for unbelievably hot actors, but I guess they have to act too.

Gigandet should play Jasper, Rathbone should be fired, and they seriously couldn't find a blonde in Hollywood to play Rosalie? Seriously? Cillian Murphy could be James, then. I mean, Stewart and Pattinson were so perfectly cast, how could they butcher the Cullens like this?

It's a movie, and it won't be exactly like the book, but if the cast member has brown or brunette hair or are short they will make sure to dye their hair or make sure that everyone else in the cast appears shorter like in the pics on stephenie meyer's official website, everyone's hair is the color it should be and alice looks much shorter than everyone else.

I am a little worried about the Cullen family. If you have seen the pictures of them on Stephenie's site, they don't look exactly right. I am really excited for this movie, though. The main characters (Bella, Edward) are good choices and I hope they do a good job. I expect the movie not to follow the book perfectly but I hope they don't ruin it. To many movies based on books are just awful. Excited but worried!

Oh. My. Gosh.
Twilight is NOT going to turn into a good movie. The cast is HORRIBLE! Gaspard Ulliel is the only one that can play Edward! But Robert Pattinson is going to play Edward. He is nothing like Edward. And Nikki Reed definitely doesn't look like Rosalie. And all the other cast I'm not even going to talk about because they're just... not good. Here's who I think should play in the movie:

I really thought they made the perfect Cullen family. Anyways, THIS IS A CATASTROPHE!!! I imagined the director would've picked a better cast. The worst part about this cast is who they picked to play Edward, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett. The rest can be bearable, and I think I might be able to watch it. **** I don't even think I'm going to watch the movie.

I have to admit they could have done better on Alice and Emmette but you don't hear me saying they're so ugly I hate them. They gonna be fine. Jasper is okay. They look different to everyone. they producers do the best with what they've been given. So get a grip. The movie is gonna be great. lol, watch people fall in love with jacob instead of edward because of this movie. because if they cast steven strait i will definatly fall in love with jacob. i'm unhappy with nikki reed playing rosalie and i can't stand jasper's hair. everyone has they're own vision of edward and robert p. doesn't cut it for me. i'm not complaining, i know they picked them based on they're acting ability. hopefully they will pull it off. maybe not. maybe yes. i'll still love the books. that won't change. if Taylor Lautner is jacob i will die laughing. but i'm very happy with bella. she's perfect. my friend actually thinks she's 'too ugly' and that is so not the case. bella's not suppose to be beautiful, just average with a little mystery and stewart is great. let's hope this isn't a let down.

I really don't think Nikki Reed is a good option for Rosalie.
I only reckon she was chosen because of her tight relationship with the director Catherine Hardwicke. Two of the three films Catherine directed has stared Nikki Reed as a main too. Twilight will be the third.

i just reaaaaaaaaaly hope the movie lives up to the book, because so far none of the cast seem to fit the part in my head and other people i know feel the same way.

i really can't see robert pattinson as a good edward. i've always imagined edward as a more dark and mysterious person (so to speak). i'm trying to keep faith in the awesome talents of hollywood makeup artists, but it's not working too well. i loved robert in harry potter, but i really just can't see him as edward. as much as everyone is saying that gaspard ulliel isn't that attactive and wouldn't make a good edward, i beg to differ. i would love to see him as edward. he just seems better suited. my choice would either be him or steven strait. he'd be good too. i mean, sure, pattinson is drop dead gorgeous, i just can't see him as a vampire.
