Nikki Reed Sees ‘Twilight’ As Vampire Film Adds To Cast

Nikki Reed Much like Bella’s eye-opening journey to Port Angeles, the past few weeks have been filled with revelations for “Twilight” fans everywhere. Now, as cameras officially begin rolling on the eagerly-anticipated vampire flick, four more actors have been added to the cast.

MTV News has confirmed exclusively that Nikki Reed (”Thirteen”), Rachelle Lefevre (”What About Brian”), Cam Cigandet (”The O.C.”) and Michael Welch (”Joan of Arcadia”) have been cast in the flick based on Stephenie Meyer’s #1 bestseller. The actors will be playing the key series roles of Rosalie, Victoria, James and Mike Newton, respectively.

“Twilight” is currently beginning production in the Portland, Oregon area, and is targeting a late-2008/early-2009 release.

In addition, the mysterious Cullen family are expected to be revealed next week (possibly with the first photo from the film), and soon afterwards we can expect names for the roles of such key characters as Jasper Hale, Billy Black, Jacob Black and Charlie Swan.

I love the kid that's gonna be Jasper, Victoria is too sweet looking for me, but she's ok. Now Nikki doesn't look like I pictured Rosalie. You see, Rosalie was supposed to be blonde and pale and completely stunning. More like the girl Stephenie had said she liked, Joanna Krupa, not her but someone who looks like her... there are a lot of pretty blondes who'd fit her better... maybe if Nikki could dye her hair, maybe it'll work. I don't know, my first reaction is no way.

Hi just thought I would throw my twopeneth ! I am on the whole ok with the cast. I thought like some of the others that the Eric Yorkie was a bit strange but like SM herself describes "he has hair as black as an oil slick" and apart from that he is a bit spotty! (make up anyone!) The only casting I am concerned about is Nicki Reed. Now I am no stunner so believe me this is not sour grapes but Rosalie is supposed to be utterly gorgeous and above all supposed to be way better looking than any woman/vampire to walk the earth including: Bella, Esme, Alice, Jessica etc. Now from the castings made already I am really unsure that Nicki fits the bill. Plus Rosalie is supposed to be really slender and whilst Nicki is no porker she would have to loose a bit of weight to slim down to Rosalie's size. I would like to point out I have no objections to people "getting roles" by the people that they know or are related to what I do object to however is that the person that is given the part must be right for the role. I think Nicki would have been better as Angela or even Lauren.

Oh my god, I hate to sound like a brat but They are doing a horrible job of casting so far...
The only two good people casted (So far) are Michael Welch for Mike and Kristen For bella.
I can go ahead and say there's a very slim chance of me going to go see this movie.
I mean isn't Rosalie suppose to be blonde and Victoria Red haried/Brunetteish... It seems they got the two avctresses mixed up...

All of the Cullens have been cast and i really like them all, cant wait to see the first photos :) im all excited jaja i cant believe i get like this over these books.... anyways i would like to know who jacob black is!!! he is one of my favorite characters well actually all of the characters are pretty cool so anyways i just wanted to say that up to now the cast is pretty good i like the choices... good luck to all of them :)

i'm really excited for the movie. but as we all know books and movies aren't always the same. we shouldn't make comments about it yet until we see the movie. no matter what i still think the movie is going to be awesome. i never thought that it would turn ou to be a major motion picture!!!!! i can't wait till it comes out. and for all the worried people out there, calm down. but i also do wish they would choose the characters for the movie alittle more carefully and the actors should fit the description that is described in the book. Nikki Reed is a brunette and not as exotic.
Nikki doesn't even have an evil look to her.

Omg i am so ecited!! I know that people are a little worried about them not making in the movie like the book but lets face it the book is always going to be better!!! And who cares if they are addinmg things that are not in the book. It will be cool just to watch a diffwerent movie but have the same characters. Atleast there will still be the chemisrty between bella and edward even if the chzaracters are not what people want them to be.

my expectations are far too high;
i like kristen stewart but i think her face is too boney to bella. i imagined an emily browning type face.
alice's cast was pretty much perfect besides the fact miss greene is 5' 5" my choice in mind for alice at the time was someone like ellen page as she's petite, pretty, and can pull off short hair nicely.
jasper is another one i'm happy with yes he's brunette but they'll dye his hair.
unfortunately hair dye cannot save nikki reed.
i'm sorry she's not pretty enough no amount of make up can change that. rosalie is drop dead gorgeous. besides reed is too tan; it's gonna be hard to make her pale with make up. nikki reed is cute and has a little above mediocre acting abilities but that's not gonna be enough to sway my opinion.
and as for edward ehhh not what i was expecting but whatever i've never been hardcore edward fan.
i just hope they don't mutilate jake.

Ok I’ve already commented on this article once. I read the comments here, and it is driving me nuts. First off MTV is behind on the casting list, and stuff they have said is false… Like I said before Jacob does not play a “key” role in Twilight, he does in New Moon though.
Rosalie looks different to every single person who reads the books.
That makes it impossible for any one to fit the bill for her character in the movie. No one can be “inhumanly” beautiful like the vampires… you can’t be inhuman!
Movie Magic as they call it will bring this brunette closer to what is described in the books for Rosalie. She will get her hair dyed, and someone mentioned she isn’t skinny enough for her role, CORESTS ARE AMAZING.
Stephenie Meyer saw Jackson Rathbone as Edward Cullen, but GUESS WHAT he is cast as Edwards’ brother Jasper Hale!

Basically people SUCK IT UP OR SHUT UP. You should only complain if there is something wrong with the content of the movie, like if for some reason Vampires start flying… or they forget something major like the visit to La Push!

Okay there's something that needs to be cleared up.

First off, so many of ya'll are saying "She looks too nice to play Victoria!" or "She's not pale enough!", or "She's not pretty enough!"

1. Too nice?! God forbid. That's why they're ACTING. When Rachelle goes in front of the camera, she won't be like she is in the picture. She's at a freaking premiere-not on a killing rampage.

2.NO ONE is as pale or light as a vampire. Some of you are forgetting the magic of movie make-up. This includes hair dye...

3.Absolutely no human on earth (literally) is pretty enough to be a vampire in Twilight. Wouldn't you rather they be great actors than just beyond gorgeous? I mean, it's IMPORTANT to be good looking and they are. But remember, these are just candid pictures of them. They'll look different on camera.

I have to admit, I'm not thrilled with Carlisle at all but I think everyone else is just fine. We all have different ideas of them in our heads, no one is going to be perfect.

I think the cast is good so far. Though, I don't think Nikki Reed is how I pictured Rosalie at all. She's pretty and everything, but she looks much older. And she's not blonde. Mike is more mouse looking in my opinion, though I think they cast Victoria perfectly.

I am really not happy about the person they chose to play Edward. I was a big Harry Potter fan also and just the thought of Cedric Diggory (Robert Pattinson) as my lovely Edward kinda grosses me out! Come on anyone for Drew Fuller!!? He's so perfect for the role, come on dont ruin Edward for me!! =)

Ok first off I've got to say that I'm increadably excited about the whole movie, but I'm not too pleased with some of the casting choices. For Edward, I was thinking more along the lines of Gaspard Ulliel (even though he's a brunette) Victoria's ok I guess, but i think that Famke Janssen would better fit the part (she's scarier looking) Carlisle I'm a little disappointed with (he should've been hotter) Rosalie umm hello!! She's supposed to be a blonde!!!! Jasper I like (only because I think he's kinda cute ;)) and I like the pair up with Alice (she's like my favorite Cullen [other than Edward])
OK I'll shut up now XP !
Here's hoping the movie is as good as the book!

I'm so excited for the 'Twilight' movie! I'm so happy to finally find out a definite date when the movie comes out and also knowing a little bit of the cast. I wasn't really expecting Robert Pattinson playing the part of Edward, but I hope he meets my expectation of Edward. I was picturing someone like Henry Cavill or Drew Fuller kind of person. Well, we don't always get the actor we want...but that's ok. So, I hope all the cast will do well for their parts in the movie. I can't wait to see the first trailer - when it does come out. :D

i'm kinda afriad to see this movie, but i'm just as excited for it. i mean, i picked out the character perfectly in my head. plus, i tihnk that the movie won't be even remotely close to how great the first book was.

I'm quite content with the cast so far because I'm sure they can do anything with make up. i'm just afraid of alice, because I don't know if ashley green has enough acting experience, I've found NO video from her... and i don't like the actor for carlisle but i guess they'll make even him suitable..

Come on,Rosalie is Beautiful,she's outstanding,and nikki,not so much.
i¡m not saying she's ugly,i'm just saying she's not rosalie.
And Rosalie is supose to be blonde and pale,even she can get make-up,aun change the color of her hair,Maybe it doesn't look good on her,and she would be even uglier(in comparation with Rosalie).
I don't know she just gives me the rong vive.

I also don't like Carlisle(the actor) he doesn't look NOTHING a like how i thought he was,he is supose to be Really Handsome,like a model,The ator not so much.

I don't know,maybe they don't see the feeling we(readers)have when we read their story(Bella and Edward) it's like the hope of true love,Over Anything(vampires,Wolves...)

And Jacob is totally a secondary role i Twilight,He apears in one or two sences.
It's in New Moon when he is a main caracter.

When I first heard about her being cast as Rosalie I was livid. lol. Now, she's growing on me. I still may not actually see her in the part but I dig her as an actress so I'm willing to get over it and be happy. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Check out "The Last Day", then tell me again you want him cast Edward. All the actors for this movie have been chosen based on their ACTING ABILITY, not how they look, and that's what's going to make the movie so incredible. I mean seriously, would any of you even go watch it if they cast people with heads the sizes of hot air balloons because they're PRETTY? The ability to act and make us believe they're the particular character they're portraying is MUCH more important than looks! If they cast some air-headed, ditzy Barbie doll as Rosalie, the movie would most seriously be RUINED! Nikki Reed is beautiful, and she could definitely make ME believe she's Rosalie! Hey, so I just found out while browsing many a Twilght movie websites that Billy Burke announced he was cast for the Twilight movie. I think he's going to play Charlie, He's like 44, and fits some of the description as Charlie...
I can't wait for the release on who is going to play Jacob!! I seriously hope it's Steven Strait becuase he is PERFECT as Jacob (well in New Moon and Eclipse at least)!!
I'm a bit disappointed at who they cast for Rosalie and Esme... Rosalie is a tall, stunningly beautiful blonde who fits the description of like a Victoria's Secret model, and Nikki Reed although she is very pretty, doesn't fit the decsription... but we'll she how they make her up for the movie.
I really wanted Jennifer Morrison from House (when she has brown hair) to play Esme, because she fits her description perfectly. Elizabeth Reaser... I'm not sure... again we'll wait and see how they portray her in the movie.

wow nikki reed as rosalie...not who i expected at all. it's going to be hard to see her as rosalie after who she was in the movie thirteen :Z hopefully they'll make her blonde...that is a major defining characteristic of hers. i really hope they don't disappoint. i am nervous about kristen stewart, she's got the looks but i don't trust her acting capabilities.

My only problem with the casting is that I never pictured James as good looking... and Cam is ... good looking doesn't seem to quite cover it. As happy as I am that he'll be in the film, I can't seem to imagine him in THAT role. Maybe I'll think differently after seeing the film but so far... I can't see it. Everyone else seems great though. Not who I would have suspected, but great none-the-less.
