Much like Bella’s eye-opening journey to Port Angeles, the past few weeks have been filled with revelations for “Twilight” fans everywhere. Now, as cameras officially begin rolling on the eagerly-anticipated vampire flick, four more actors have been added to the cast.
MTV News has confirmed exclusively that Nikki Reed (”Thirteen”), Rachelle Lefevre (”What About Brian”), Cam Cigandet (”The O.C.”) and Michael Welch (”Joan of Arcadia”) have been cast in the flick based on Stephenie Meyer’s #1 bestseller. The actors will be playing the key series roles of Rosalie, Victoria, James and Mike Newton, respectively.
“Twilight” is currently beginning production in the Portland, Oregon area, and is targeting a late-2008/early-2009 release.

In addition, the mysterious Cullen family are expected to be revealed next week (possibly with the first photo from the film), and soon afterwards we can expect names for the roles of such key characters as Jasper Hale, Billy Black, Jacob Black and Charlie Swan.

I just cant believe Nikki Reeds gona play Rosalie. i really didnt picture Rosalie to look like Nikki Reed. lets hope she does a good job. & Rachelle Lefevre doesnt look scary enough to play Victoria. CaM is ok for James i guess a little younger then i imagined him. Michael Welch is just how i imagined Mike Newton.
Lets hope they all do a good job playing their rolls

I think the cast so far is pretty good. I just can’t wait until the movie comes out! I have reasd all three of the books and i am hoping that the movie is just as good. I was picturing somebody else as James, but oh well. I am so going to the midnight showing of Twilight. Please make the movie good!

Rosalie is beauuuutiful! I’m sure they’ll do something with her hair. Her face is flawless. She’ll be PERFECT!! Victoria looks fabulous and could definitely portray evil and James is gorgeous. Mike is so innocent looking, hes exactly what I pictured! I CANNOT wait until December!!

Jacob is a really big party in the movie. its not that hard to find one. There are plenty of actors out there that fint what he looks like. The choices are good in some parts. But look at it like this. Everyone has diffrent pictures of what Edward and Jacob and Bella and all the cullens and people look like. So its going o be a little hard for the producers to find just waht the readers want. Give them a little slack. But lets still hope they did a good job. Because if they did this righ, Then its going to be bigger then the book sellings themselves. Lets make this good guys.

I am so excited for the movie. My only actual worry is Kristen Stewart. From the movies I seen her in she totally has the whole Bella look but I’m not sure if she can get down the drama. Like where Bella crys alot and is hysterical in some scenes. I just find it hard to picture Kristen doing a scene like that.

Yay! im happy they’re finally making some more choices. I just hope nikki reed looks good as a blonde. personally victoria looks too nice with her freckles and stuff but thats what movie magics all about people! I just hope they give alice and jacob good actors. =D

melissa- Alice has been cast. A few days ago a inside source posted the cast. If you go to the Twilight Lexicon, you will see that all the Cullens have been cast(except for a confirmation on Emmett)

Robert Pattinson was TOTALLY not the first guy to pop in my head for the role of Edward. I have never seen any movies he has acted in, so I’m really sceptical. I originally pictured Kyle Schmid (The Covenant, Zerophilia, Blood Ties) as Edward. I also cannot picture Nikki as Rosalie.IN MY OPINION, she is too dark-skinned and dark-haired.

i personaly dont think that Nikki Reed isnt that preety, and as any Twilight fan knows, Rosalie is supposed to be drop dead gorgeous. Nikki has very manish features, a cery blocky head, and a cliff. so yeah, think what you want, but hey. Oh and also, they have totally screwed up this movie. Not one actor or actress do i like for this movie. Well, maybe Emmeett’s ok, but other than that, not really.

But Kristen Stewart was one of my top picks for Bella, so I hope she does good. I hope that Emily Browning is in this movie. She was one of my other picks for Bella. And Jackson Rathbone should play Jasper. He’s hot.

Nikki Reed is not at all what Rosalie is described as in the book. She was only cast because of her relationship with the director. She has been in 3 of the the directors 5 movies. Its a bunch of crap if you ask me. Nikki Reed is denying the fans a chance to see someone who actually represents the character on the big screen. Instead we get a representation of the “friendship politics” of hollywood. Disgusting.

I am perfectly fine with the cast right now.
I hated Rob for Edward at first but he so grew on me
and I think it is ok for them to have a brunette for Rose as long as she is “sexy” and as long as she and jasper look like sibs. the alice the got is cute she just needs the hair cut which im sure hair and makeup dept. will take care of.
The only thing i was not expecting was an Asian eric
that just didnt come to mind but hey he’ll do
I love the casting for mike and esme and jasper and (woried alittle about) carlsile(but he’ll do) and james and BELLA and if that one dued is Emmet i will love him too

Wow… what a disaster.
The initial cast decisions were bearable at best, and from thereon have just gone increasingly downhill. Nikki Reed is the epitome of all the terrible casting decisions- she’s completely wrong for the part of Rosalie- not merely physically but also in terms of character, heightened by lack of acting ability. Catherine being her stepmom… well that just explains it all.
I don’t really have much hope for this movie anymore- much like many others. There’s no doubt the motion picture will slaughter the book, as has happened so many times before. Out of ALL the possible cast options… Hollywood just can’t get it right can they.

I dont see nikki reid as rosalie, but the rest im relatively happy with.
i think the perfect jacob is steven strait. he may be old, but in sky high with the long hair and special make up he looked like a teenager. not to mnetion that jacob only looks like a teenager for the first book, so steven could do the role well. Charlie swan I want John c. reily. he would be perfect.

Isn’t anyone upset that Peter Facinelli is Carlisle? I don’t think that he’s all that stunning. Don’t get me wrong he’s cute, but he has such dark hair/features which is all wrong for the part. I don’t think that he can portray a refined 200 year old vampire/doctor. Have you seen Can’t Hardly Wait or Fastlane?

I’m curious about this whole Nikki Reed scandal playing Rosalie Hale…Does she have some contract with the director,Catherine Hardwicke?Because I know for a fact that so far Nikki Reed has been in several movies with this same director such as Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown. I know that working on previous movies with a certain actor or actress directors being fond of them…..but honsetly Catherine Hardwicke, can you honestly imagine Nikki Reed being the “ideal” Rosalie Hale that well all have grown to love? I just hope she can pull her weight and do an outstanding performance in playing this character because you know once you upset the public, this project will not become a franchise and will eventually all go down the toliet, meaning no one wil come back for the sequels. So with that said, there is a major amount of pressure on Nikki Reed for this project, so please Ms.Reed do NOT disappoint.

im really happy with micheal welsh and cam gigandent and Rachelle Lefevre! but i really dont understand nikki reed as rosalie since shes not what i see as the tall, blonde, and pale type. although they could make her pale im sure i just dont see it as well as the others who have been casted as thier roles. i guess.
i promised myself i wouldn’t whine about the cast though so thats that.

Uhm, Jacob does not play a “Key” role in Twilight, he does in New Moon but the Jacob in New Moon is much different than the one in Twilight.

Kristen Stewart was AMAZING. She cried practically the whole time and looked flawless doing it.

I really don’t like Nikki Reed for Rosalie, based purely on the fact that she’s not sexy enough. And she always looks overdone (makeup wise). She’s aging prematurely too. Okay, so I’m being a tad judgemental but she’s more of a Lauren.
But what can you do? When director’s stepdaughter(?)/bff wants in, all you can do is oblige. I’d rather Rosalie get messed up than Bella or Alice. (Sad day for male Twilight fans though)

hello people? has no on ever heard of hair dye and makeup? ok so stop saying “she’s brunette” and “her skin is too dark.” nikki reed is pretty, i think she will be a good rosalie.
the choice i’m not so happy about is ashley greene for alice. unless hollywood is truly magical, they can’t change the fact that she is 5′5″. (alice is 4′10″) and i hope she loses some weight, alice is really skinny!
i like most all the other choices so far.

The cast was chosen because the casting director thought they could do the job. They all have the ability to act, and the casting director is a professional and knows what he/she is doing. He chose them for a reason, he wants the movie to be Great, just like you and I do.

It’s not the fact that Nikki Reed was cast, it’s the fact that she was cast because of her relations with the director. And I can see her as Rosalie, I just hate that the only main reason she probably was cast was because of Catherine. I’m sure she can pull of Rosalie, just as most of the cast picked because they were picked based on acting ability, not looks alone which can easily be changed. So, I think this movie will turn out okay, but it’s not going to be what we all imagined it would be. Expectations a bit high, much?

First of all, Victoria is scary feline looking, not redhead girl next door…
Rosalie is prettier…no offense…and just isn’t described like that…

I’m very excited for the movie! I am glad that we are going to see some semi new faces, and I wish them luck to live up to the expectations of fans of the wonderful world of twilight.
