“Avengers Assemble!” Marvel’s mightiest team join forces to fight foes no single superhero can withstand. But if Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and Ant-Man thought Count Nefaria or the Krees were formidable – wait’ll they get a load of the Countless Nerds and the Geeks, who will dissect every announcement and decision from the film like it was the word of God.
Bring ‘em on, says “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau, who, not only thinks that “The Avengers” is “a great idea,” but even told MTV News that he might like to direct it.
It’ll be a long and winding road for Favreau if he does. Unlike how Warner Brothers is handling “JLA” – where audiences are being asked to accept different actors for Batman and Superman, as well as a whole legion of new characters like Green Lantern and Flash - Favreau insists that Marvel will only go ahead with the project if and when all the individual characters get their own story. It’ll be worth the wait, Favreau claimed, calling this way not only more impressive and formidable – but more consistent as well.
“I wonder if the tone of ‘The Incredible Hulk’ is going to be similar or different than [’Iron Man’],” Favreau questioned. “And ‘Captain America’ is a twinkle in Marvel’s eye right now. And ‘Thor’ and ‘Ant Man.’
“[But] in the case of Marvel they’re pretty clear on wanting to do it with the actors who’ve established the roles or to not do it at all. That’s what they’ve said to me,” he continued. “I think it’s a good idea if you use the characters established in the other franchises that then come together for an event. I don’t think they would do it like they’re doing ‘Justice League’ where it’s a whole different set of actors and a whole different take on the world.”
What do you think? Does Marvel or DC have the right idea? Is a group film better as a culmination or a launching pad? And while we’re at it, why not sound off on who you would like to see as Captain America, Thor, and Ant-Man below.

I think Favs would do a great job with The Avengers — we will all see why on May 2 when Iron Man hits.
Also, I think Marvel has the right idea, they just need to get these movies done quick… We don’t need an Avengers movie with a 55 year old Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.
January 3rd, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I think that Marvel definitely has the right idea. Using actors that already solidified the role in a previous movie is the only way to go. It’d be hard to accept someone else as the character especially if the first movie was good…

Jon Favreau rocks and may be making, in IRON MAN, the best or atleast ONE of the best comic book films EVER!!!!
An Avengers movie in the fashion being described would rock and set MARVEL above any DC movie.
This is one of thier best ideas since casting Sam Jackson as a Nick Fury, that will show up in different comic movies to establish some sort of continuity and gel the Marvel Movie Universe.
But I have to admit, I still hope for a Nick Fury consistent with the classic books. You know what I mean.
I think the JLA movie, that would end up being JL because Hollywood thinks AMERICA is a dirty word, is a recipe for disaster.
January 3rd, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Iron Man looks incredible and I’m sure Favs would do a tremendous job on Avengers. Marvel has the perfect tact for their super team, it will make the universe seem much more real and cohesive. DC is doing a major disservice to their brand.
Just wanted to throw out a suggestion for Captain America (I find myself thinking about it frequently): Marc Blucas. He played Riley on Buffy. Perfect build, looks very similar and, most importantly, a surprisingly good actor. Peace
January 3rd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
i think it is a great idea to do an avengers movie, they should do it very carefully, and have a very intelligent script that gives each character due justice.. forget about having a POV character, like Rick Jones– this is the AVENGERS!!
January 3rd, 2008 at 5:46 pm
This is the way to do it. WB are lunatics if they insist on replacing Bale and Routh for JLA. Besides, I have a feeling that the JLA movie is - in its current incarnation - destined to fail before it gets on the starting block.

I definitely think MARVEL is very much right about releasing The Avengers AFTER individual character stories. One of the reasons for this thought might be because those individual character based stories will certainly be ORIGIN STORIES, so it would be much, much better to show the origins of HULK, IRON MAN, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA, ANT-MAN, and then assemble THE AVENGERS. One of the ideas might be that, beside those main characters, we might see a few of others, like BLACK WIDOW, WASP or even SPIDER-WOMAN, which would be really nice (we have SPIDER-MAN in his unique series of films, but to have SPIDER-WOMAN in The Avengers would be just so great, since having two ongoing series about two different characters with more or less similar super powers and much more similar names could be too much for the audience that is not familiar with these characters; personally, I won’t mind). And of course, SPIDEY could appear in The Avengers movie, as well, played by TOBEY MAGUIRE, or in some forthcoming sequel to it. The same goes for HUGH JACKMAN as WOLVERINE. Next, I have an idea of who might be playing CAPTAIN AMERICA - JOSH DUHAMEL. Or, maybe BRAD PITT, but I think DUHAMEL could do it just fine. He did helluva job in TRANSFORMERS, so he is no stranger to action-packed blockbusters. I’d really like to see KATE BECKINSALE in the role of SPIDER-WOMAN or BLACK WIDOW, because I really think she’s born to play a superheroine. I mean, we all know there would be a lot of male characters in The Avengers, like NICK FURY, CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, IRON MAN, HULK, ANT-MAN, so they would need a really good-looking actress to play at least one female character, of which MARVEL UNIVERSE is full. All in all, I can’t wait to see IRON MAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE this year. Since I have been collecting film music from all MARVEL movies since BLADE (1998), I really can’t wait to HEAR them as well. HURRAY to Ilan Eshkeri for THOR and HARRY GREGSON-WILLIAMS for X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE!!! My personal favourite MARVEL score is FANTASTIC FOUR, so, since I heard the same composer might be doing THE AVENGERS, I have only this to say in the end - BRING ON JOHN OTTMAN FOR THE AVENGERS!!! YOU WON’T REGRET!
January 3rd, 2008 at 11:27 pm
You can’t have Spiderman or Wolverine in an Avengers movie because Fox owns the rights to wolverine and all the X-men characters, also the fantastic four, silver surfer and daredevil and elektra. Sony owns the rights to Ghost Rider and Spiderman and i highly doubt they would sell the rights back to Marvel considering all the money that Sony has made with them. Blade is owned by New Line, and the Punisher is owned by Lions Gate. So the only decent characters we could see in the Avengers would be Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Ant man, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, Black Panther, Namor and any other relatively cool characters you can think of. The only possible villians are Loki, Fing Fang Foom, The Mandarin, The Leader, The Abomination Dormammu and maybe a few others, but Dr. Doom, Galactus, any spiderman villian, the kingpin, bullseye, blackheart, and mephisto are all out. You could use Namor as a villian to start, but you would still need him to help the avengers to fight a bigger threat. I would just like to see how all this pans out, i am very excited for this movie and can’t wait to get the orgin movies out as well.

Well gee Nemanja and Adam, we wouldn’t have Spider-man or Wolverine or the Fantastic Four or Silver Surfer or Daredevil or Electra or Ghost Rider or Blade or Punisher in it now would we, since they aren’t apart of the Avengers. Save all that for a Civil War movie.

Marvel > DC… in terms of handling the films. WB have made it really messy, and are a fine example of what happens when the studio intervenes on what should be about what the people want, as oppose to their pockets. Marvel Studios are smart to want to warm the audience to the individual characters and displaying their backgrounds, as oppose to wasting time in the actual Avengers film dealing with it. JLA… it just seems bad. I mean, it’s col, but it’s being handled completely wrong in my opinion.
CASTING
I’ve thought hard about this, and it’s difficult to pick appropriately, but here’s my opinion; Captain America - Nathan Fillion (bulk and blonde him out though, of course. Persona is suitable), Thor - (too hard), and Ant-Man - Jake Gyllenhaal (I think he would suit the role; fresh, witty, etc).
January 4th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
I like Marvel’s idea to have the individual movie actors resume their roles for The Avengers movie. I just wonder how financially realistic that will be if all of the individual films are big money makers. Have they optioned Downey & Norton for the group flick? If not, I bet they’ll be too expensive to use for the Avengers film.
I would also really like to see The Avengers sometime in the near future. Waiting for all the individual movies to come out first might push The Avengers out about 10 years. What if they did some of the individual movies first and then introduced most of the other characters in the Avengers movie? After all, Captain America made his debut in the Avengers comic book before he ever had an individual title. I would rather see them introduce Thor, Antman and Cap in the Avengers movie so that they could put this thing out sometime in the next 5 years!
PS Based upon the leaked casting news, I do not have a lot of faith in the Justice League movie—It could turn out okay but I’m not getting the best feeling. I’m praying they don’t ~~*~~ up.
January 4th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
DC will be successful with new actors as Bats and Supes in the Justice League movie, just because there have been so many already playing those roles in the past. But I feel Marvel’s take will have the most impact in the long run. As long, as the next movies are not rush jobs, specially Thor (whose Tales of Asgard angle, I feel is a big box office risk) and Captain America.
January 4th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Regarding super-team movies, I think Marvel has the better approach than DC this time around. Marvel was wise to launch a Wolverine movie AFTER the success of the X-Men movies. They had to introduce the world of mutants first, then focus our attention on one mutant in particular.
I think the only initial solo Avenger films Marvel should make are The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Pyms (Giant-Man & The Wasp). They are the founders (except Captain America, but he’s so synonymous with the Avengers, it doesn’t really matter). THEN they can do an Avengers film that introduces additional heroes such as Black Widow, Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Vision, Falcon and Tigra. Whichever character emerges as a popular fan-favorite, should then get a solo movie.
Captain America: Jensen Ackles from Supernatural
Thor: Triple H & Jude Law as Dr. Donald Blake
Giant-Man/Ant-Man: Sam Rockwell

@ Dubbs:
Well, Spidey and Wolverine are members of the New Avengers. There’s no guarantee that Marvel & Paramount are going to stick to the original Marvel 616. After all, if Samuel L. Jackson is Nick Fury, that alludes to Ultimate Marvel. And they’ve not been shy about changing/tweaking with the other films.
That said, Adam’s point is correct: the contracts would certainly be a headache. On the other hand, some of those contracts may expire or may be able to be amended or even canceled. Fox has made it fairly clear that they’re not going to touch the Daredevil/Elektra properties again. And aside from Wolverine and Magneto, it appears that Fox may not touch any of the X-Men again, either.
January 4th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
this is definitely the right idea. but, they should handle them like the harry potter franchise. one big event movie each year that tells a culminating story. all paths cross, intersect in singular character stories until they have the ultimate event. awesome. i can see it all now. and, also like harry potter, use strong directors with strong visions. i love what i’ve seen of iron man, so far. jon favreau, it appears he knocked it out of the park. it will finally erase those terrible memories of the fantastic four 2. what a horrible waste. putrid. they really blew it by ignoring the history of the franchise, casting the wrong actors, making it jokey and dumb. comics books are great because they have an epic quality. some producers think the way to adapt comic books is to take the tone of archie’s (which i’m surprised they haven’t made into a movie, yet). favreau gets it right. tim burton got it right. chris nolan got it right; dark knight is lookin’ sick! sam raimi got it right. i actually love a lot of ang lee’s take on the icredible hulk, and i think it’s stupid they aren’t, at least, bringing back sam elliot for the general. but, the studios have ruined it when they dumb it down. but, i think 2008 is gonna be a great year for the comic fan. and, let’s hope they do this AVENGER’S EPIC!! AND, CONGRATULATIONS BARACK OBAMA!!!
January 4th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
I hope they get to do the Avengers movie the right way, with each character getting an origin story movie. the most important character to be added to the Avengers is Captain America so make sure his character is done right. i’m thinking someone tough like Matt Damon (Bourne Identity) or Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) could kick ass as the World War II hero fighting as a symbol of American Patriotism. Of course Cap’s origin story has to be a period piece set in the 1940’s, he’s a freakin’ WWII hero!!! Throw in every little side character you can think of like Bucky, Human Torch, Sub Mariner, the Victory Boys, Citizen V, and a whole bunch of other characters from the 1940’s Timely Comics that Cap came out with. (Just some cameos that’s all!!! except Bucky of course) The end of the movie would seem like the end of Cap since he’s frozen in some freakin’ ice (End the movie there!!!) but that’s the perfect lead into the Avenger’s movie. (didn’t they find him frozen in the arctic.— Captain America part 2 is Avengers part 1) anyway, these movies have the potential to be epic, just don’t make the DC mistakes like casting stupid kids to play dress up, make believe versions of already established characters (SMALLVILLE SUCKS!!!). Chris Nolan and Christian Bale were right to ignore the JLA movie and concentrate on their own. The Dark Knight is gonna kick ass!!! I’m really pulling for Marvel to make something that will blow my mind!!! I haven’t really been impressed since the first Spiderman movie. http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/t/timelycomics.htm
January 5th, 2008 at 1:50 am
i really have a bad feeling about this ironman movie. Although ironman is my favorite marvel character, something tells, its gonna be another “HULK-GHOSTRIDER-PUNISHER” movie. i hope i’m wrong. BATMAN BEGINS KICKS ASS! and he’s not even my favorite.
i’d like to see:
TRIPLE H as THOR
VAL KILMER as CAPTAIN AMERICA
JOHNNY DEPP as IRON MAN
EDWARD NORTON (peg:fight club) as BRUCE BANNER
JESSICA BIEL AS BLACK WIDOW
i wish chris nolan could direct the avengers movie.
January 5th, 2008 at 3:04 am
Clearly if the X-men can be done the Avengers con be done. I have a lot of confidence in Jon F. as the driving force in this project simply because like Raimi he is firts and foremost a real fan…Nuff said. Hands down the first villain should be Kang.
In terms of actors here you go:
Thor: Snag bodybuilder Gunter Schlerkamp. At 6′2″ and 300 plus pounds of rock hard muscle along with the fact the guy already has the prerequisite Teutonic accent you dont even need to dub his voice!
Captain America: Get Jensen Ackles from Supernatural. If they can bulk up Toby Macguire I know they can get an athlete like Jensen set up with the requisite muscular look.
Hulk: Ed Norton is already a done deal
Iron Man: Ditto with Robert Downey Jr.
Ant Man: I love Nathan Fillion in that role.
Spider Women:Jennifer Garner the best female action star in the world.
The Wasp:Kate Bechinsdale another actress with action feature chops to her credit.
Black Widow: Kind of a stretch here but I’d love to see Gong Li. Ass kicking martial arts whats not to like?
The Vision: Mark Blucas Riley on Buffy remember? Or the actor ( I apologize for not knowing his name of the top of my head)who played Aquaman on the Smallville show. Got the body and the action chops down beg time.
Quicksilver: Orlando Bloom who else?
Hawkeye: Who ever doesnt get the Vison role from the aforementioned Vison role let him get the archer role.
Black Panter: Wesley Snipes…again who else?
January 5th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
I think they just need to have movies of Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk established. The rest can be introduced in Avengers. And they should keep the team small. Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Ant-man and Wasp. At most they can add Hawkeye. Possibly Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch but that would be pushing it as it is.
I’m actually more of a DC Guy and I worry about JLA because Warner has shown a lot of ignorance AND arrogance about how they have been handling their superhero films. I hope they get it right this time around.
January 5th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
I feel marvel is doing better because to establish each character in an avengers movie would make it probably like 3 hours. even then a plot wouldn’t be developed….My feeling is that they’ll have to develop each character in their own movie except for maybe one…Then tell the story from that viewpoint. Following multiple characters can be messy, but it can be done right (i.e. Lord of the Rings)
On top of that, if marvel plays their cards right, they can also story arc little things in the standalone movies. Not too much as to lose views in the avengers movie, but just more like the ‘Ah Ha!’ type…
imagine a box set then…….
January 5th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
A movie per character is a fun way to build suspense and I like that idea. Hopefully the studio is making it clear to the actors who, if anyone, will have a more central role in the Avengers movie. It’s no fun when actors start fighting over the limelight and usually the story line ends up suffering for it. Just my 2 cents. Should be a good movie.
January 5th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
Bruce Willis has to be Captain America,
John Cena has to be Thor,
and who the hell is Ant Man??
January 6th, 2008 at 5:19 am
Bruce Willis is at least 20 years too old, & not nearly muscular enough (but then, the “not muscular enough” problem’s sadly true of nearly anyone playing nearly any superhero, & yes, I *do* consider that a big problem, though I’m not sure it can be solved).
John Cena *is* both young enough & muscular enough to play Thor - but he’s 5-6″ too short, & oh yeah, not a very good actor. Not *terrible*, & he _might_ get better if he ever gets to work on anything with a real script (y’know, something his WWE boss, Vince McMahon, has NO say in whatsoever?) - but not really good, either). The same problems apply to Paul-Jean Levesque (AKA “Triple H”), though it might be possible to find something for Duane Johnson (*formerly* AKA “The Rock”), as he can actually *act*. Not saying he’s any competition for the Ian McKellans of the world, but he’s pretty decent.
Frankly, short of a “performance capture” movie, a la Beowulf, or at least a few performance capture *characters*, a la Gollum in LotR, I don’t really see how *most* superheroes can ever be “right” visually, and still have someone who can act in the part. I mean, really, who’s both tall enough & buff enough for Thor (remember, the guy’s supposed to be 6′8″ & built like…well, a god - & yes, IT MATTERS)? Tyler Mane (Sabertooth in the 1st X-Men, Ajax in Troy)? Nathan Jones (the first guy Achilles kills in a duel at the beginning of Troy)?
Yeah, they each have the height & have, or could quickly enough re-acquire, the build (& Tyler looks good in a long blond wig, & Nathan is naturally blue-eyed) - but do either have the acting chops to “speak forsoothely” & carry off the *character* part?
I’m not sure anyone living does - and for an Avengers movie, we’d need at least 4-6 guys who did, if not more (dependiong on which heroes are used). Which is why I think “perf-cap” may really be the *only* viable way to have *both* the right look, which REALLY *does* matter in a superheroic character, *&* the acting ability to play it well.
Oddly enough, I don’t think it matters much who plays Ant-Man, as long as he is in, or willing to get in, halfway-decent shape, & can ACT. Ant-Man is ~not~ one of those characters whose looks really matter much, beyond looking under 35 & reasonably in shape.
But Hulk? Thor? Giant-Man? Hercules? Captain America? These are all characters for whom a truly heroic *build* really is a vital component of their believability as heroes.
I know that getting actors who are both really good & willing to take their parts seriously has to be the ultimate deciding factor. But I’m *really* wishing Marvel & whomever they work with (as production companies, distributors, or directors) will take the issue of the characters’ appearance very, very seriously, & do their best to get it right - *whatever* that requires of them.
January 6th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
i think its a better idea to unite the established heroes! and it would be a fantastic idea for the avengers!. only the wwe’s triple h would be a good casting for the role of thor!, come on its perfect!. captain america well yeah bruce willis is a little too old and not muscular enough and hey who is a good cast for the title role?… what about the black widow and would kelsey grammer reprise his role as beast?… how about quicksilver and the scarlet witch?…
January 6th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
Since the technology exists to make an actor that’s not 6′8″ appear that way (e.g. the hobbits in Lord of the Rings, only in reverse) I don’t think it’s so crucial that the actor playing Thor be that tall. 2 good possibilities:
Gerard Butler (Leonides in 300)— do a Google image search for “Beowulf and Grendel” to get an idea of how he’d look in the part. Of course, he’d make a good Hercules as well, especially as the artist in the current series is trying to capture the feel of 300.
Second possibility is Sean Bean (Boromir in Lord of the Rings)
If they get around to Scarlet Witch, Anne Hathaway looks the part, but she’s probably already too big to play a supporting role.
January 10th, 2008 at 4:45 am
Monica Belluci as Scarlet Witch; Sean Bean as Thor; Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man and WHO as Cap??
Tough one..
January 11th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
First, John Cena couldn’t act his way through a Burger King commercial, anyone who suffered through “The Marine” will concur. I was even more disgusted being a retired Marine myself.
Bruce had his time, had he been frozen for 30 yrs then maybe I’d be able to see him as Cap. But, thats not the case, the best fit for Capt America would be either Brad Pitt or Matthew McConnehey (spelling is off on last name sorry). Pitt probably won’t do it but Matthew just might.
Gerard is a great choice for Thor, his accent is a definite plus for those long winded “godlike” speeches Thor is privy to dropping on his foes.
As for Hercules, Scarlet Witch or any of the several characters who were or are “Avengers”, they are not members of the original ensemble. Nor is Cap for that matter. The original Team was Hulk, Iron Man, Henry Pym as Giant-Man (later became Ant-Man then Yellow Jacket and back to Giant-Man then I think he tried being The Wasp but the costume was a bit snug. Submariner was present but kept wanting to kick the Hulk’s azz. That didn’t make for good team spirit.
Thor and Wasp completed the original team. Captain America came later when he was saved from his Iceberg Tomb.
January 14th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
i think ronald mcdonald should play thor. and kanye west should play green lantern and clive owens should play captain america. and elain from seinfeld should play wonder woman. idc how old she is. and gollum should be played by george kastanza. and kramer should play ironman.
sincerly, amanda huginkis
January 19th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
triple h should play thor, there twins
January 21st, 2008 at 7:15 am
Excellente idée !!! Je suis prêt à attendre le temps qu’il faudras pour voir au cinéma “The Avengers” !!
February 4th, 2008 at 2:03 am
There is no denying the potential for really building some early buzz for an avengers movie if they use it as the follow up to Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, etc. Of course if any of the lead up films should bomb, that might make it difficult to bring back certain actors into a future project…
February 4th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
The Avengers Movie will be awesome. Here is the potential list of heroes and actors to portray them:
Iron Man played by Robert Downey, Jr.
Hulk played by Edward Norton
Captain America: An interesting choice could be Paul Walker.
Ant-Man: Depends if Hank Pym will play him or Scott Lang? Last I heard Jeremy Piven would portray him if it is Scott Lang.
Thor is a tough one. I like Sean Bean but it will depend if Marvel wants an older looking Thor or a younger version? Maybe Josh Holloway from Lost?
Other possible Avenger Members could include the Wasp or Scarlett Witch which either role could be played by Jessica Biel and the Vision would be a pretty cool character. After the first movie you can always add new characters like Hercules, Hawkeye, War Machine, Black Panther and so forth.
So far Iron Man looks sweet and this will be the year that Hero movies rock: Just look at Iron Man, the Hulk, Batman The Dark Knight, Wanted, The Punisher War Journal.
April 23rd, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Having an origins movie of each heroes is a great idea and then assembling them in an Avengers movie. The casting? I think they better adpot the ultimates line-up: Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Giantman, Wasp, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Pietro.
Captain America - between Josh Lucas, Paul Walker or Jensen Ackles or someone unknown like Routh. But Paul Walker would do better because he can match the popularity of Robert Downey and Norton.
Thor - Triple H would fit perfectly because a god like character should be naturally bigger than the average plus long blonde hair. HHH can pull off the accent and the hammer would blend in well.
the Pyms would be a hard one.
Scarlet Witch - Sophia Bush. she looks more like Rogue but she can do it with her great acting.
Black Widow - Milla Jovovich. at least for the accent.
Then the rest should also be fresh new actors.
April 24th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
I think that this movie is like other superhero movies. One world few badguys and superhero on action. give a break and watch something better
I will create one good site for ppl around world!

May 5th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
thor is gonna be the hardest choice cause you are gonna have to have someone whos sorta pretty but has a bodybuilder physique but can speak shakespearan or at least sound convincingly godlike.
May 5th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I think Brad Pitt would definitely fit the bill..he played a great role in TROY…and kinda portrayed a blonde goddish complex…besides he plays a great drunk as well….and we all know how THOR loves his MEAD!!!
May 5th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
I didn’t want to post a reply on here because it’s not my thing but after reading some of these suggestions I just wanted to lay down my two cents.
Captian America - I would not go with Paul Walker because granted he has a killer grin and dimples that make your grandma sweat but he can’t act his way out of a paperbag. Horrible choice. I like the idea of Marc Blucus, he’s cute, charming and charismatic for the role not to mention physically meets the requirements. Or he did since I haven’t seen him in much else other than that episode of House not to long ago. He’s just not a big enough name to draw any attention and one has to admit that you need a large name to pull off this huge of a movie. Even for those that don’t follow the comics will still find an unknown a let down. I feel that Brandon Routh was a physical match but for me personally was a let down in the roll. Again one did point out that a majority of your big name actors have either established themselves in a certain role to define part of their career or quiet frankly are just too darn old i.e. Bruce Willis. So who do I think? That’s a hard one. I guess I have an opinion on why not this person or that but no real response. I really don’t think they should make a Thor movie. I don’t really want every character in the Avengers to have their own spin off movie. I don’t think it is necessary. Should every X-Men character have their own? No, not at all. Iron man was great and I am really looking forward to a non-butchered Hulk. I think whoever the powers that be that cast these movies do a great job. I can’t think of anyone else to play Wolverine once Hugh Jackman took on the roll. There is no other Spiderman even though I had my hesitations about Tobey McGuire at first. Anyways, I digress. Let me lay out my ideas for the roles how I think they should go. Please be as brutal to mine as I have come off for all of yours. Sorry!
Captian America -
Thor - I like the suggestion previously listed for Gerard Butler. I think he was awesome in 300 and could really pull off the idea of Thor. I don’t like the idea of Triple H only because I hope the script will call for some action from Thor and I feel that Triple H would fall short. And isn’t he short too? I’m not sure. But I still feel that outside of the violent soap opera that is the WWE he is not all that great of an actor. Ant Man - Nathan Fillion because I love them too and the more movie roles I get to see him the better.
Black Widow - Well the only person that I can see for the role is Famke Johansen (or whatever the last name is) who of cours has established herself in the role of Jean Grey / The Pheonix. I like Milla Jovivich (again, my spelling is horrible as far as last names go) for the role. She would be interesting but I think she may paint herself into a corner with all of these sci fi roles. I think I have a million suggestions for each character and a million more reasons why it may not work out. It will be amazing whomever gets the part and whomever directs it and I will be there opening night eager and happy in good ole’ fashion little kid fascination of the movies in all of the awww of the cineplex. Good luck Marvel with the roles. As I am sure you can tell it will not be an easy job.

I did not list an actor for Captian America and I mispelled way too many easy simple words (my bad) but my suggestion for the role would be Ryan Gosling. He can bulk out and pull it off with no issues I just don’t think he would take on the character because it’s not his kind of movie / role. He would be great but I don’t think it would happen. A good point would be made as well would be which Captian America would they portray? America’s Hero Squeeky Clean Right is Right or the new and improved and not so blonde shades of grey Captian America. It’s a long road but a worthy adventure to take on no matter which way they go with it.

Well I read what yall said about HHH and please GOD no. If you want a big guy to play Thor that never really did real acting, and somebody you think that looks good for the role I gotta agree with George Wright, Gunter Schlerkamp would be perfect. But who ever playes Thor gotta look like a GOD. And if they do have Hulk in it they gotta have a scene where hulk picks up Thor’s hammer and hits him with it now thats classic. Now Captin America well I got a couple for him but my 1st pick would be Timothy Olyphant hands down. He got the all American face to me and he was good in Hitman. And Antman well alot of people dont even know who he is so fudge him. Now like everbody else is perfect Nick, Bruce, and Tony they are already in the mix. Now about dc I gotta agree not to use Bale and the other guy who played superman because they live in two differnt worlds. Dark knight is a dark movie vs Superman is more kiddy. i mean look at Lex Luther in the movie he was all goofy but Joker he is duh a joker but he was a beast with it. Hell Lex in Smallville is more darker then the Lex in the movie so there you go it would not match for them to make a movie forming a team together. Unless they made another superman for the dark knight but please dont make a batman for the superman. I would love to see what superman would be like in that verson. ps I love the Ironman suit and how they changed the Hulk, Hulk is more dark and thats how Hulk was meant to be same with Batman. but if dc is reading our comments make a death of Superman movie yall would make more then Spiderman 3.
