Of all the cameos in "Walk Hard" – Jack White as Elvis, Paul Rudd as John Lennon, Frankie Muniz as Buddy Holly – one brief, scene stealing appearance stands tall above the rest.
"I know what you're going to say, you want to talk about Cox. And not just Dewey Cox," John C. Reilly laughed when we spoke to him about coming face to face in the film with "Sly and the Family Stones." "MTV viewers are going to love Cox. They are, if they don’t already. It’s C-O-X that I'm saying when I say Cox, by the way, for the censors that are watching."
Well, no, Mr. Reilly, not exactly (although we appreciate the effort). And while we’re prohibited from actually spelling out the word you’re talking about, suffice it to say that it doesn’t end in an X.
"I mean look, I have the benefit of THIS - the penis was not hard. So, you know, people are looking at it, they feel a little bad for the penis," Reilly joked of his acting method. "I think probably, when they get uncomfortable they have me to look at. You can either look at the penis, or the Cox."
Thing is, we know how YOU feel, but think of the penis, Mr. Reilly. How does it prepare to share the screen with an Oscar nominee? We'll finally get a chance to find out when "Walk Hard" comes to DVD, revealed writer Judd Apatow exclusively to MTV News.
"We made a documentary about how that went down, it’s called the C--kumentary, that's a play on words, by the way, so I hope you'll enjoy it," Apatow teased of one very special bonus feature. "It's actually really funny. Craig Robinson from 'The Office' plays the voice of the penis.
"There's literally a shot of the penis being interviewed about what it was like being in the movie, in the chair," Apatow continued, before breaking out laughing. "Let me just say that there’s a mic clip attached to him."
