In a world filled with magic spells, where problems can be solved with a flick of the wrist, the old adage still applies, a delighted J.K. Rowling told reporters: Be careful what you wish for!
That held particularly true for the stars of the “Harry Potter” movie series, she said, who all wanted to know what was going to happen to their characters as the last “Potter” book approached…until, that is, she started to tell them. (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.)
“I think they were always petrified of asking me,” she said, smiling broadly. “I went down to the set and Dan [Radcliffe] and I had a real chat and it was great. And I said to him ‘Dumbledore’s giving me a bit of trouble.’ And he said, ‘But Dumbledore’s dead!’ And then immediately ‘Don’t tell me! Don’t tell me!’”
But that didn’t stop Radcliffe from “pretending that he knew the ending of book seven,” Rowling laughed, saying his loose lips got him his just desserts. “He went down the corridor to the other kids, because they were still being schooled at the time, and he said, ‘She’s told me, I know what happens,’” Rowling related. “Of course, then he was besieged and started to panic.”
“He got a little taste of what it’s like to be me,” the author cackled. “Serves him right!”
Surely, though, some bits of information were necessary to play it right– and none more so, apparently, than what was to develop between a certain pair of would be lovers.
“I told all of them little bits, [but] I told Emma Watson the most,” Rowling said of the actress who plays Hermione Granger, who in the seventh novel finally gets her romantic moment with Ron Weasley. “She nearly fell off the chair laughing when I told her who she had to kiss.”
“But if it’s faithful to the story she has to kiss both of them,” Rowling added, indicating Harry as well as Ron. “Which I think is kind of funny.”

I think I’d do the same as Dan…as I know I am, I would have been imaginating things and then thinking of me as a fool because I’ve asked about the ending…

SPOILER WARNING:
To Juue, yes you must have skipped the part where Harry and Hermione kiss, please re-read the book (hint: it is a little strange to say but it is something that happened but was really unreal for Harry and Hermione, search for what Ron did while helping Harry with Griffindor’s sword).
I would have asked if any of the plots concerning HP7 where true or near to the truth, not something in particular, but if any of HP fans have been near of guessing the plot for the final book.

Hermione kissed harry on the CHEEK at the very end of GOF (the book). And then of course, the ‘riddle’ harry and hermione kissed by the lake/pond so…

If I were one of the actors I think I would have been more concerned with playing my role than holding myself in suspense and would have demanded to know the ending. You know how those drama artists can be. ;P

I would have wanted to wait until the end had I been one of the actors. The Harry Potter series is too near and dear to my heart to have it spoiled in anyway. I resisted all temptation to flip to the last page when I bought the book and am so glad I did so. I never would have forgiven myself for spoiling all the fun.

I actually feel sorry for her, in an interview, some one asked her about kissing, and she said that it wasn’t in her contract. She were so scared about Hugging Harry - AND, I don’t want Emma to kiss Dan, coz, then all the Harry/Hermione shippers will be happy - especially the ones that have not read the book!

I am a die hard HP fan! I had the book with me one time, and some of my BFFs wanted to see it, and when I gave it to them, they flipped to the end, and they hadn’t read it yet!! I covered my ears and hummed random tunes under my breath so I wouldn’t hear the ending. I almost beat them up cause of that!! As for finding out as an actor…I think I’d wait, really!!

If you’re playing the part, you kind of have to know…no matter what you may want. If you are going to play the part true to the storyline, and make the proper allusions, you need to know where the story is headed. I feel kinda bad that they didn’t have a chance to find out with the rest of the world, but at the same time, kudos to them for wanting to do the acting bit right.

I would’ve “wanted” to know, but I wouldn’t have asked because we don’t know what will happen in our own lives tomorrow, so I don’t think that Dan, Rupert or Emma really needed to know in order to play their characters. I mean, the fact that Jo told them some “bits” is fine. If they wanted to know and she wanted to share, then more power to ‘em:)

Look, they’re actors! It’s really simple, a stage kiss is easy to learn. You would all be surprised to know how easy it is to “kiss” without kissing.

Well, they are actors. Lol, the kiss… andyway, Emma does kiss Dan, because when they are destroying the locket in the Forest of Dean, Riddle (Voldemort) tortures Ron by a minture version of Harry kissing Hermione, so obviously that would have to be acted out in the HBP movie.
But I would soo not wanna know the end of Deathly Hallows! It would destroy me. Even thouhgt I know the end know, I’ve read it about 17 times, but prior to the book release… yeesh!

It’s the evil H/H kiss, ya know, just before Ron destroys the locket.I guess they will probably have Dan/Emma kiss and then add special effects to make them look evilll!
Regarding the question… I wouldn’t have wanted to know what happens. It spoils it all.
As for Dan, Emma and Rupert– they are such good liars. They swore through the whole of OOTP promotion that they knew nothing about the final HP book. LIARS!
