   he is PERFECT for Black Adam. Problem is, who plays Cpt. Marvel if not Rock. I think CGI is definitely in order here...ONE ROCK, two ROLES!

   Black Adam; he's a deeper character than Cpt. Marvel, and you're perfect for the role. To be honest, when I heard someone suggest it jokingly a couple months ago, I thought it was brilliant.

   Well, if anyone would stop to take a moment... especially the ones who've read the comics, you would know that he would do great as Black Adam, but would not fit the role of Captain Marvel (no offense Dwayne :) I'd say the actor that played Colossus in X2&3 would be more fitting.

   I know Captain Marvel is the lead role and Mr. Johnson is at the point in his career that, well, he gets leading roles. But he just freaking looks like the guy. And I have seen his acting, and yes he is good, and yes he does have the range to play either. I'd much rather see the Rock play someone more badass instead of a boyscout.
   
   That and DC has reeeally been playing up Black Adam as of late, even more then Cap...and well honestly, if Black Adam wasn't in the movie, I wouldn't go to the movie.
   
   So yes, he looks like the guy, he can play a badass, aaaaaaaand well, I will forever pay mad respect to the guy. forever. Seriously, that would be amazing.

    Difficult choice.I think he would be perfect as both and it would give him a chance to further show his talent and range.The Rock vs the Rock!!! But forced to choose I would prefer he play Capt Marvel

    Black Adam is what most fans want. Think of Henry Fonda in "Once upon a time in the West" or John Travolta in "Face Off" . Playing a bad guy is going to be much more fun

    Physically the Rock looks more like Black Adam, but personally I'd rather see him play Captain Marvel. His personality just goes better with Captain Marvel. He's too much of a likeable guy to play someone as evil as Black Adam.

    Captain Marvel...no doubt. The general public won't connect with Black Adam. He is an obscure character up until just recently. People want to see the Rock as the hero. Black Adam is a vigilante at best and sometimes a villain as portrayed in the comics. Bottom line is the studio will sell more tickets with Rock as the main title character so it doesn't really matter what we think.

    Although the Rock definatly qualifies for both parts physically, lets not forget that Black Adam was Egyptian while Captian Marvel was a mid-western kid. I think we can all agree that the Rock doesn't look like a guy from Iowa or Kansas. Also the Black Adam has been alive for thousands of year while Captain Marvel is just a kid who becomes CM when he says "shazam!" That means that Captain Marvel should be played with a certain innocence and maybe a little bit of naiviety. The Rock doensn't fit naive too well. He'd have a good time being the villian and the Rocks range in the role would allow the studio to go either kid friendly action or a more "Batman Begins" serious tone to the villian. BLACK ADAM!

    Hmmm That is tough I would like to see the Rock in the costum of CM, because he look so much like the hero. However, I know for a fact he can play the Black Adam and pull it off very well. I would have to see him act Captian Marvel before I say Yay, or Nay... I kinda think he would beable to pull it off.

    I'm pretty sure the Rock could murder a whole country, so BA it is.
    He could probably play a very good, wholesome, golden-age superhero, but his talents would be much better suited playing a great anti-hero, if that's the approach they take with Black Adam. Also, yeah, you can't deny the racial thing.

    The choice is clear, good sir. If you actually read this, then please, take heed. Not only are you far more suited physically to Black Adam, but he is 100% cooler. Plus, the bad guy is always more fun, right?

    I tend to agree with the majority consensus above. Although The Rock certainly has the physique to assume the role of either character, he simply does NOT have the racial characteristics required to assume the role of Captain Marvel, who is essentially caucasian. Also, his facial features simply are too rounded and soft to be equated with Marvel's square, jaw, prominent brow, and broad smile. I believe The Rock would fit the role of Black Adam beyond question. There is physical, racial, and behavioral compatibility therein.

    I think he needs to just sit down really. But if he must do something, I cant really decide. I know little about CM and even less about this Black Adam character. I dont think he's the best actor in the world, but lets face it, like he's gonna listen to anyone say 'Dont act!'
    
    If you wanna get all racial, no he doesnt fit Captain Marvel's color. So? Will you honestly throw some hissy fit cause a black person will play a character that was originally white? It's not like you haven't seen it before. Example: Egyptians are from? Africa. Yet in movies they're played by: White people.
    
    But I dont know if I can see Rock playing some evil character either. Yes, he's capable of the face (dont forget his famous quote) but look at that smile. If you just look at the face, do you think he could hurt you? And I just dont think he has the acting chops to pull off a change like that.
