The summer sun may be out in force, but in Denis Leary's world, it's always freezing. The actor tells MTV News that production is gearing up for the third film in Fox's blockbuster animated franchise, "Ice Age."
"We're getting ready to start," said Leary, whose sardonic saber-toothed tiger Diego last graced the screen in 2006, along with prehistoric creatures voiced by castmates Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, and Seann William Scott.
The comedian isn't aware of a storyline yet, but according to him, it doesn't matter. "We've already done the meltdown [story], [but] as far as I'm concerned, I don't care. 'Ice Age 3,' '4,' '5,' '6.' I think it should be like 'Rocky.' I want to be doing it when I'm 70. It's a money machine. I think kids from future generations should be forced to watch 'Ice Age.'"
A successful producer — his FX series "Rescue Me" heads into its fourth season this month -- Leary has developed his own strategy for box office dominance. "My secret game plan is that when Fidel Castro dies, I'll take over Cuba," he revealed. "And when you come to Cuba to gamble and to visit the beautiful beaches, it's 'Ice Age 5,' 'Ice Age 18.' You can't get away from it. When you go to the hotel, it's all 'Ice Age,' all the time."
